The ghosts are the only good thing about the Shera...

The ghosts are the only good thing about the Sheraton Columbia Downtown Hotel.
Valet service was fine.Check in service was slow as the front desk person was on the phone. Lobby lights were off next to the elevators which was very odd. Room was nice, beds were comfy. Tried to get room service but I kept getting rerouted to the operator. Couldn't get room service because the girl on the phone said she was the only one working. She also said she was out of all white wines which we thought was strange for a hotel of that size.Went down to the Vault bar to get food because my kids were starving. Menu was boring and very limited. We ordered food and carried the plates up to our room. We had to set down the plates in the lobby because food was falling from the plates yet no staff offered to assist us. Food was Ok. No mini bar or snacks in the room and no vending machines. Around midnight I awoke to loud sounds coming from the hall way and the room next door. At one point the noises got so loud that even my kids woke up and we all thought that there was an earthquake or some other disaster due to the noise. Ay first it sounded like luggage carts speeding up and down the hall. When I peered into the hall no one was there. Next we heard a hairdryer in the room next door and suddenly there was music playing- jazz music. Next there was loud banging on the windows as if someone was pounding their fists against the window over and over again. There were startling banging noises that sounded like pipes or an old machine being turned on then off again. The hallway noises started up again as well. The sounds were so loud and so odd that we became frightened. It reminded me of a loud thunderstorm with heavy winds, yet the weather was fine. This went on for 10 minutes or so and then there was silence. The building appears to be very old so there may actually be some ghosts wandering the halls at night. In my opinion that is the only good thing this hotel has going for it.
