Clean and not too crowded fun day out and food and drinks are reasonably priced

The changing rooms are below average and need a serious revamp. Also it s unbelievable that the fitness centre closes at 9:30pm and 7pm on weekends! This is one of AKL s biggest recreation centres for goodness sake. Honestly it s no wonder people drink and smoke to excess in the weekends. What else is there to do!? Sorry about the excessive ranting but you know what I mean aye...

Everytime ive been here the pools are closed due to a code brown.

The counter staff need some customer training. In my experience It didnt matter who worked the counter, they have a flat, unfriendly, unhelpful, cant be bothered attitude. Very poor! I had to help a stroke victim who had waited 1.5 hours for assistance, because they were having a staff function upstairs, no one was available to help him.

Came here quite a lot when the wife was pregnant. Really enjoy the sauna and having a quick relax in the pools. Might be interested in getting my son swimming lessons here when he is a bit older

For a parent minding price makes it reasonably affordable until one turns 5 from memory. Singularly is also great as one can relax in the sauna, steam room, or spa and all within entry price.

Mostly okay, used by grandchildren for swimming lessons. Instructors are good and friendly. Facilities are okay, mostly. There have been frustrating times when something is closed, due to misuse or wear and tear. Could do with a complete revamp and better maintained. I haven't come back for the spa, sauna or steam since the 2nd covid lock down. I used to come every Sunday morning, like clock work, providing they were available.

Spacious, friendly staff. The only thing this place doesn't have is the rock climbing walls!

Seriously love this place. I'm a member at their gym, which includes the pool and everything else on site. So it's really nice to go from an intense workout to soaking your muscles in the spa. The gym itself is clean, and has practically everything you need. And not to forget the view you get which looks out onto the pool. The spa area has also got a sauna and steam room, and then a cold shower to cool down. I'm yet to try the lane pool and dive pool. And there is also a hydrotherapy pool, which can specifically help with injury recovery. This place has it all!

Has a wait if pool is at capacity but otherwise is a great place for family.

Great instructors for new swimmers. Really nice facility. Parking may be a challenge but just wait a couple of minutes

Great place for children to swim safely and adults have big pool to swim. Plus slide and wave pool for kids. Hot pool and steam room also. So caters for most peoples tastes

Westwave is a key venue for west Auckland and wider communities.
Their services range from the pools - a variety from kids to spas, big hydroxide, and hydrotherapy - to gymnasium services as well. There are plenty of staff at hand to assist or answer questions .
The venue itself is a little tired at the moment, and sometimes this effects services, but with the large venue and options its not a problem. The prices are very reasonable too.

2nd floor gym is not bad but their music playlists are really terrible. over the years i asked them multiple times to change it to literally anything else and it never worked.

pool is fine for swimming but it's pretty shallow (2.5m deep i think) so you can't train diving.

My kids loved their holiday program. This was the best program they ever had. Lovely and friendly staff.

Very cheap price for a great family day out. Cafe is good value for an after swim snack.

A great day out for the family. Waves come every 15 mins. Great communal atmosphere. Slides very good. Great for age 0 up! Kids water fountains. Cafe food on site.

For out west it's a good swimming place. The only issue is not every day the hydo slides are open. But its a decent place to cool down.

Big facility with lots of different spaces. The changing rooms etc are very well set up but the offerings for very young kids (under 4) are not as good as some other places.

This is a must go for families with children. A wide range of pools and an adult spa / steam / sauna area make for a great time. Hydroslide, lazy river, big pool, spas for family and baby. Dive pool. Competition pool. Gym. Cafe. Must be more. An excellent afternoon had.

It was a cultural experience. Lots of fun for 7 children and two adults

Went there today after arriving was disappointed the wave pool and spa were closed the only options I had was the kiddies pool and spa but my 16 year old couldn't use the spa wasn't told by staff of the closures so paid for nothing won't be going back

West Wave offers quite a lot as far as the gym and pool is concerned. However, the gym staff are absolutely useless. Besides starting you off on a program, they do not frequently monitor your technique on a regular basis. The follow up sessions to monitor your progress are often rushed.

The pool sessions are better monitored for technique and progress.

Great hydro therapy classes and good water walking facilities

Good facilities. Hydroslide is cool but there's only one of them. Wave pool is great fun. Kids free but I always feel gouged on the adult entry fee of $7.50 (but I am kinda cheap like that).

Time and time again huge wait to get in as max numbers in wave pool But when you do get in numbers not great at all. The hydro slide is constantly closed which I wish they would advertise before you started waiting Not good

Really great they provide a wide opportunity for different age groups to enjoy themselves at the pool from small pools for toddlers to massive swimming pool for old..simply awesome

You probably see someone rubbing their feet next to spa pool or in the souna, dissepointing.

they were closed till 12 the day I went and then the diving board were closed so that was a bummer but then they gave us free hydroslide bands

The facility is pretty huge! They are multiple pools including a spa pool & a sauna. They do have 1 or the the other pool closures, so better to call them in advance if you are going just for a swim.
Several group classes are held multiple times a day, highly recommend these especially if you are a bit lazy like me & can work better in a group class. These classes vary in intensity so one can easily chose based on their fitness level.
Good parking although during school holidays, getting a spot can be tricky.
Lastly, the staff is very friendly & helpful.

I travel here all the way from Pukekohe, so that's saying something about the place.

Overcrowded and the indoor pools is always strong smelling of whatever is used to clean pools. They charge you full price even if part of pool is in use for the swimming classes. Totally annoying for an overpaid council pool

Great place to take your kids for swimming lessons.

Easy to find and parking was accessible. My children loved the wave pool. The family spa pool was at a lovely heat. I wish other facilities had this option. The only downfalls was the lack of seating for parents and the changing facilities. Grubby and shabby changing rooms. If this was upgraded my family would visit more often. 3/5.

I have been here for a year, it's great. But recently, for the 3rd-6th week in a row it's been closed every time I tried to go there.

Pretty good there. They could do with a few more gym equipment pieces (eg) hamstring machines but over all its ok. They have a coffee shop there which i find strange and you cant buy any protien drinks which is frustrating

It's not a good place on a hot day needs an open roof..

Have been coming here for the swimming once a month since the new year and every time there s something either not working, waves or slides or closed off due to bad repairs on the timing and now today there are no waves or slides due to lack of staff! On a wet Sunday in winter?? This has to be the worst run pool in Auckland combine this with inept staff with little interest (kids mostly). Only gave it one star because it only cost a dollar to get it - which is about all it s worth! Needs money spent on upgrades and new management.

I have been a member of west wave for 3 years. Always clean swimming pools and changing rooms. Staff is helpful and friendly. My kids and I enjoy it much.

I head here after work around 7:30 pm. they have a great Zumba class, Mother n Daughter team & they rock! After Zumba I head to the 1.8 mtr pool do a few laps have a dive if I can. then the hydro pool! Wished it was open just 30 mins more and it would be perfect!!

I love this place. I am a member with the gym amd my daught does sswimming lessons, happy friendly staff

Good place but music far too loud most of the time especially around spa earea

Dunno can't swim, need lessons, good place for it hahaha
