I haven't had too many issues here, I have enjoyed my classes and most of my professors actually care about teaching and respond to you when you ask them a question. I haven't had any issues with financial aid or being able to get anyone on the phone, just the usual call and leave a message but they...
The University of Houston Downtown is a fabulous, multi-cultural university offering undergraduate and graduate degrees for a wide range of business and professional interests. I'm been at UHD for 15 years and am proud of the system and the students who have come through my classrooms.
1. This university is unorganized. The advisors and staff are SUPER lazy. I always had to reach out to them and they always made me feel unwelcome. I graduated from here, but I will never recommend for anyone to come here. Parking is horrible/not safe There are homeless people everywhere especially...
I am currently enrolled for an MBA and every semester trying to talk to an advisor to get approved for courses is a nightmare. No one returns phone calls, email boxes are full, and so how exactly am I suppose to register? I have no idea, even their website is confusing and unorganized. The class...
I've studied philosophy and science at UHD, now I'm on my way to med school. The faculty here provides quality instruction. I love the library stacks, the facilities, and the academic life planted right in the middle of urban downtown Houston. There is so much to do and learn!
I enrolled to take my GED test here, when i innitally went they were aware of my immigration status which at the time did not seem to be a problem. The day of the exam I was asked for my I.D. which i have a Mexican Matricula (is a goverment issued id) they took one look and said it was DAMAGED there...
I just completed my 1st semester at UHD. The classes were small, professors actually taught and we get 15 minutes to walk to our next class instead of the normal 10 minutes. The only complaint I have is parking. If you don't get to school before 9:00am, you will have to park miles away.
I went to a big university before transferring to UHD and was worried that I wouldn't like it. Fortunately it has been a great experience, I've had some of the best professors and have learned a lot more than I expected to! Most of the classes I have taken have been small (20-30 students), which is ...
Professor are good, however the staff treat you like c$%^p talk to Carlos, one of the Advisor from school of Business told me to shut up??? Parking lot is a nightmare. They don't care about the student only your money.
Great school. Friendly professors, small classes makes learning easy. Advising staff is rude and doesn't show any interest in success of students. Over all my experience has been wonderful so far. Parking might be an issue if you don't like walking.
PROS: Decent school. central location. friendly atmosphere. small class sizes. competent professors. CONS: needs improvement on cleanliness and organization. college advisors need to actually know how to advise and not tell students to "go look in the catalog". registration can be a total nightmare...
Tasha from financial aid isnt very helpful, especially when all you receive is attitude. I had to talk to her twice. She interrupted me multiple times. Gave me attitude and didnt offer much of a solution, when she could have.
A great university that is still growing and will soon be one of the top rated in the city and in the state. It has lower tuition fees than most universities and provides great class schedules that meets people's needs. I definitely recommend coming here as an alternative to UH main.
Went to their open house this past weekend. Parking was a mile away, construction and detours everywhere. I can't see myself taking a class on this campus at night and having to walk that far to my vehicle at 9:00 at night. The university Professors were, for the most part, friendly but one of the t...
Tasha from financial aid isn't very helpful, especially with the attitude she gives to people. I had to talk to her twice. She interrupted me in both of the conversations. Didn't let me speak, as she felt that she already knew what I was about to ask. If you're not happy with your job, please find s...
If I were able to I would rate this "University" 0 stars. Unfortunately, it is not due to the school's curriculum or teachers, it would be due to how former students are treated after they graduate or transfer. I am currently in the process of purchasing a home. After 4 years there, of course I owe ...
Small classes and flexible schedules for today s fast-paced society. Parking has its good and bad days. I have bought the parking pass and paid at the meters, one semester without one. I like the atmospheric vibe from the diversity at UHD.
I am extremely unpleasant with my current visit. I have made an appointment to visit a counselor so that i could enroll for summer 3 term. The appointment was at 11:00 am this morning. I went to the advising center and i had to wait 1 hour and 30 minutes. Adviser were taking students coming after me...
A good place to upgrade your academics knowledge. Great faculty and exceptional student services to accommodate you and your needs. Right on the north outskirts of downtown and right along the light rail to take you to and from wherever you may need to go.
Been a student here going on 3 years and the financial aid department is the worse. You call any of the department people on the directory and no one ever answers and the regular number for the office is ALWAYS busy. The people working in the office are always loosing documents and will tell you one...
My four years here were pretty good. Classes are small and (most) instructors do care. I do feel that students have to pick up more and more slack every year as they enter the workforce; just a degree isn't going to cut it (if you want a great job).
The biggest issue I had while attending UHD is ...
Great school right in the heart of downtown Houston. Downtown Houston is a great facility well many students come to get their education. I took a semester at that school and had a blast met some really cool people I was influenced by great Mentors Professionals and educators
I am on my third degree at UHD. The staff is amazing and rigorous. If you actually apply yourself you won't be allowed to get away with less than your best. The advising is a bit sparse, being a commuter school and all, but the business program is accredited by AACSB, which not many colleges are. I ...
I don't like the feel of the campus. It looks like an old high school. Parking is terrible. Tuition is more affordable than most and teachers are okay, but their resources and staff are terrible. Everyone's answer to everything is go online.
Worst college ever!! Tried my best to graduate and did it!! They only care about money.. careless professors, do not guide students the right way, students needs to teach themselves in every class.. please don't go to this college
The UHD university programs are very well put together. The teachers are very concerned with the education of their students. The constant improvement of the Downtown Houston area continues to improve the educational experience for future students. If you like to take classes with wonderful people w...
I am currently a transfer student and this is my first semester. I have not had any issues. Excellent help from advisors. The light rail first right in front of the campus, so that is a huge convenience for me. As of now I have nothing negative to say.
This is by far the worst ever when dealing with advisers. Especially in the Criminal Justice department. I wish I can give zero zero's for that women which I will not expose. Stay away from that field at this school period. To get people to move I have to call constantly and rarely reply to emails w...
I love this campus! I'd explored a lot of colleges and universities before finally coming to the conclusion that UHD is the right one. The campus is spacious, and offers a stable learning environment in a very liberal atmosphere. Just an all around great campus!
Good School for Resposible adults, this is not like the large universitys with the partys. For those that want to focus on changing their life and learning, becoming the educated person, or even changing society in a meaningful way , you wana come here. The views are great, it literally looks over a...
I absolutely love this University! UHD has given me an amazing opportunity. I'm an accounting major in my 3rd year. I've been able to land an accounting internship with Wells Fargo and am currently looking for a 2nd internship. A lot of the guys for my organization, professional accounting society ...
This school's staff is awful. Every time I have to deal with admissions or registers office the response is always " call back", "we have no update", "I couldn't say", "I'm not sure", It takes 2 weeks", etc..... what is going on here? It's summer time what could be the issue here? I thought Houston ...
The teachers here are very good but as far as anything administrative such as financial aid, registrar, ect, it is horrible. Don't waste your time at this school because out of all the schools I've been to in my life this is school is the only school where absolutely no one knows what they are talki...
This university is excellent. Although it is still in the growing process, It provides students a Division I education at affordable cost. I'm not sure why some people are giving the school low ratings. Remember your education is what you make it. No one owes you a thing in life. #UHDalumni
If you want to be stabbed by a Cartel or shot by a Bro so face your destiny, UHD is a military friendly college that only helps Veterans for a transition career so to all Internationals students (Saudi Arabia ,Qatar,Pakistan) MUST STAY AWAY, Professors don't teach anything ,THEY ONLY HELPS WHO...
I went to UH downtown ages ago and while I'm sure the campus has changed quite a bit, the education you get here is top notch. It great for students with busy schedules and who have to work. I wouldn't be where I'm at today if it weren't for all the help and support I recieved. Thanks!
This is my university which I love it. This university provide support for all students who want to achieve their goals. The teacher, the staff, every person who works in this campus made their efforts to help any student. I'm a proud to be part of The UHD GATOR
A good school -I learned a lot about my area of interests (Business/Enterprise Information Systems) and myself. Good professors who are wiling to help.
Simple to apply and get accepted. But actually registering is a headache. Hold after hold is placed on your account making the process long and tedious. The amount of paperwork needed is ridiculous even for transfers. Admissions staff doesn't seem very knowledgable. However financial aid staff and a...
UHD is a great school with affordable tuition. The professors (most of them) will take the time to learn your name, and are understanding about situations that may occur and obstruct school work.
