Comfortable modern and hip. It can feel like you're entering a night club. The crowd is very young especially at the weekend. The rooms are nice modern and the shower has an interesting blurred see through which allows your partner to watch without watching. Overall a good experience.

I don't know what happen but me and my wife had problem with credit cards , long story short : I had to pay but I paid twice or something like! i've 2 entry from that hotel in my bill, one in euro and one in dollars , the euro was refunded but is still locked on my credit card( and I've reached the top of my outcome for the month ) , now I'm doing a cost to cost with no credit card !

The place is fantastic from the moment you enter. The electric stairs with the light makes a beautiful decoration that I will always remember. The workers were very kind. But what I loved the most was the room and the view of the city. Everything looks modern and the bed is large and very comfortable. I recommend the place to everyone.

Modern hotel but very small. They do not have room service. They did not take the trouble to carry the suitcases to the room, one has to go down to look for them personally.
High price compared to the service they provide.
They do not accept payment in cash (it is not clear at any time).
Regular location, 5 blocks from broadway street. But few points of interest nearby.

Really struggled with this hotel and had a real love-hate experience. A couple issues with fire alarms going off in the middle of the night and the focus seemed to be much more towards being a night time destination for food and partying than a hotel and some of the staff really needed some customer service training. The saving grace was that a couple the managers and staff were AMAZING and really went out of their way to improve our time there and we ended up having a really lovely second half of our stay.

I have never written a review for a hotel before...but I had to for this one. We LOVED it. We came to New York for Thanksgiving weekend to see the parade and sight see but we honestly wanted to get back to our hotel ASAP every day. It may sound crazy, but the smell as soon as you walk in is incredible. (PS. They sell the scent in their gift shop if you love it as well). The rooms are small but aren't all standard rooms in NYC? Still better than anywhere I've stayed on my 6 previous trips to the city. I will stay here every time I come to the city. The location is great. Just north of Chinatown for great sushi and asian cuisine!

Lovely bar and impeccable hospitality! The view from the top is amazing and I m told it s infinitely nicer in the summer.

The woman at reception downstairs was lovely and helpful and everyone up at the bar was equally warm and accommodating. It feels like the kind of place that might be cold and too cool for its own good but it wasn t at all.

Excellent cocktails, can t wait to go back!

A mix or travelers, business people, revelers, and explorers, the public hotel provides an ever changing scene encapsulated in chic, clean but warm decor. Multiple secluded locations for different experiences. Charging spots and tables for laptops in semi-public spaces. Watering holes and gracious experts are always near to serve.

Customer experience as hotel guest is VERY deceptive! you pay for "great view" but get a room with normal city view- get constantly denied access to rooftop (not seen the view after staying already two nights!!)-super noisy till 2 am. Incredible how they turn happy people in angry guests- lots of guests complaining to a level I have never seen before!

It's a bit expensive for a no frills hotel but the restaurant and nightlife areas are certain to be hits in NYC. If you want a nice comfortable stay with all the amenities, maybe not the place for you. If you want to be in the center of it all, go for it. There's no irons and ironing boards in the individual rooms which is a bit of a deal breaker for me

Do not go here! The staff are rude and very condensing. This place is style (to a degree) and no substance. Their service is utterly horrendous. I believe they write fake reviews to push down the bad ones.
We have also noticed money coming out of our account going to Public since leaving. We have contacted them several times and got absolutely no where. There are much better places you can find for your budget. We upgraded our room and the view was average. It is not worth the money and is full of very pretentious and insincere staff.

Fantastic hotel, of 5* quality, great lounge and open spaces on lower levels. The rooms are compact but very well designed, combination of wood and concrete, large tv and great sound from b&o speakers. Comfortable bed and nice walk in shower. Staff very helpful and the restaurant at the restaurant has amazing food.

Brand new building in the lower East side and very stylish and modern. The downstairs space is a performance space and also a club late night. The bar on the roof has spectacular views in all directions. Empire State Building, One World Trade and everything in between from an angle you've never seen before...

I knew nothing of this place when we booked and was quite taken with the design, which is modern and just so. Highlights include a Diego Rivera mural reproduction in the main bar, triply neon light fun mirrors and a rooftop bar with floor to ceiling windows, unisex bathroom, and almost 360 view of the city. This place is hip in a good sense. The queen room was small but used the space in such a smart way that it was a pleasure to stay in. This hotel has a lot of little touches and it s fun. I could see partying here on a Friday night being really fun.

The hotel design was great... interesting architecture and fun to look at. I found the check in process easy enough but unwelcoming, with an ipad sign in. The rooftop bar has killer views, but was so packed at 6pm that we didnt hang there. If you stay here ask to stay in the middle floors of the hotel, we got stuck on the third floor and it was pretty miserable. The room was fine, but the view was just into somebody's apartment. The Bose speaker had already been removed/stolen, which would have come in handy when trying to fall asleep to the very loud base that vibrated our room until 4am from the basement club and the bar. That was pretty miserable. Would not go back here without knowledge of the floor we would be staying on.

Bummed visitor.
