It s a very depressing place. When my mother arrived by ambulance transport, we were not greeted or acknowledged in any way. I had to walk to a nurses station and ask for help getting my mom settled in. It s noisy and a loud call bell is constantly going off. Mom was left alone for long periods of time. They would drop her food tray off and leave it by her bedside even though she was unable to feed herself. The staff seemed very disengaged and annoyed if you had requests or questions. After my mom died, I came to collect her belongings. Again, no acknowledgement from staff. No condolences, nothing. I visited my mom every day while she was there for two weeks and every time I came in, they had no idea who I was and never approached me about my mom s care. Every time we discussed mom s care, it was because I had to go to a nurses station and specifically ask for help. Unfriendly, bare minimum care.

After visiting several facilities before making my final decision to chose Old Knox Commons for my mom who broke her hip and has been battling pancreatic cancer for 2 1/2 years...I saw what Old Knox has that other facilities do not....They are the most active positive atmosphere that I saw...People, workers, nurses, visitors and administration acting in harmony to make each and everyone feel at home. Jennifer and Audra with the endless Physical and Occupational therapy...They keep my mom strong and give her a will to get better!!! The compassion and patience they have with my mom is amazing!!! The patients, nurses, cleaning staff interacting with everyone is a plus. I never have had to worry about my mom. Bobbi, Meghan, Melisa, Amanda, Anabelle, Dawn... so many to mention that my says they all treat her super great!!! Sharon in house keeping is one of my favorites! She always has my mom's room super clean!!! My mom says they all treat her great!!!...You can come and go as you please..visit your loved one at anytime!!! They also have fur babies to make the day complete...not only for my mom but also for me...I too need fur baby therapy love....Thank you Old Knox Commons!!! We could have never decided on a better place!!! love the Perez Family.

We recently moved my mom here and I can't say enough about the professionalism of the staff and the attention to detail. They really care and go the extra mile to make sure all of the little things are taken care of. We are extremely happy with knowing my mom is in a caring and safe environment.

If you have control over it.... do NOT let your family member come here. While the office staff was extremely friendly, and some of the nursing and CNA staff is as well, the rooms are sparse, dated, and just downright miserable. I feel rehab is all about your environment just as much as your care and this place was dark and depressing and entirely too institutional. My dad was placed there from the VA.. let me tell you... the VA is doing our veterans dirty with this place.. 2 to a room in a closet. ZERO privacy, and a tv that 1987 forgot. 10in... for two.
I can't comment on the care too much, since my dad only lasted 9 hours there before he landed back in the hospital, but he mentioned his nurse could not even speak English sufficiently to communicate. He requested a lounge chair ( he's got CHF and needs sleep upright with BIPAP) they brought him one from someone's living room that looked donated.
They did keep an eye on him though, with his breathing while he was there and I do give them credit for that, because he needed to go back to the hospital.
To summarize it basically screamed depressing. More nursing home than rehabilitation center.

I am proud to be apart of a team that puts patient care first!! We are far from perfect, but strive to improve each and every day! If there is a concern it is addressed immediately. Each resident is treated with the dignity and respect that they deserve. Our residents are our family, and their needs will always come first before our own. I couldn't ask to be apart of a better team! #TeamOKC

If your parent or parents have back surgery and need rehab do not bring your parents here. Starting with the social worker Winnifred Boulware. She is very unprofessional, rude, and lacks compassion. She's only concerned with moving the patient out quickly and filling the bed with the next patient. From my parents first day I should have known better. It was tragic they didn't have her room ready. They didn't have any information. Every time I come here to visit I see and hear at least 10 call lights going off. If it takes 45 minutes to an hour to answer the call lights, then you my friend are definitely under staff. Then there's the therapy department. The only thing I can say without flipping out is two-faced backstabbers and that's against each other. I wouldn't bring my dog here. The hallways smell like fresh hot piss and that has nothing to do with housekeeping. The state needs to make a pop up visit during all shifts. If I could give them no stars I would.

Horrible place to work... they don t know how to treat their employees....underpaid....very unprofessional....prejudice at its best....I feel sorry for the employees and residents....They worry bout the wrong things... instead of patient care...with that being said....I won t recommend nobody to work there or bring their family members there

PROFESSIONAL STAFF! First let me start off by saying the building is beautiful and free from ordor. The food was great! The Administration staff always had their door opened and will address any small concerns we may have had. I also saw the Owner working and helping the patients long after hours. They are very professional and a caring group of people. From the beginning of our stay in Admissions to discharge with the Social Worker, I could not have asked for a better group of people. The Doctor and his staff were very kind and down to earth with us. The transportation driver was also nice and professional, calling and texting about all of the upcoming appointments. No place is perfect, but this facility is far above others!
Thank you staff for caring for my family!

The administration staff and my family helped with apply for all of my benefits. A was able to receive a brand new electric wheelchair with the assistance of the Administrator and the therapy team. The food is excellent and I am very happy. Vey clean facility.

I came here for rehab but the only room available at the time was the area that was more like a hospice/assistant living area. At first I didn t feel right about it but then I realized I need to be where I was at to help me regain my will to live again. The admitting staff were great. Always made me feel like it was a family feeling and my needs and the needs of the other patients were always taken care of. I had great nurses and CNAs. The meds are well controlled and they are very organised and attentive to everyone. It s a hard job and I thought they did very well. I come from a healthcare career I know how people should be treated. The physical therapy and occupational therapy staff were the best. I went in with a broken foot that wouldn t heal and they went beyond my expectations on teaching me how to recover and to be able to go home living alone. The didn t just work me but they explained why they were doing and how it would benefit. The facility was clean and the food was better than most. The hardest part was leaving and saying my goodbyes. Highly recommend bringing your loved one here. I was lucky to get in and I will soon never forget the care they gave me.

Thank you for giving me my life back.
Joseph. Room 309A

My grandmother stayed at Old Knox Commons for about two weeks getting rehabilitation after breaking her knee. She highly enjoyed her time here and cannot speak enough about the employees she worked with. They did rehab with her every day and helped manage her pain. She has said if she ever has to come back to a nursing home or to a rehab facility this will be the place! Highly recommend!

Please stay away from this facility. I was employed with okc for 1.5 years and decided to part ways. I worked with some wonderful co-worker. However, management sucks! Very, racist! You have several incompetent nurses who does the bare minimum to take care of your loved one. Many are over worked and under paid. Just skip this facility and go elsewhere.

From day one when I arrived, things have been terrific. I had a smooth transition from Duke and had a great admission. Everyone introduced themselves and are so polite and friendly. All of the nurses were so polite and friendly. I've been a nurse for over 45 years and I was impressed! Everything has just been wonderful! Top notch therapy and nursing care!!

My grandmother spent a few weeks here for rehab after a stroke. The staff was really nice and made sure she was taken care of. They made sure to give updates on how her therapy was going and that the whole family understood what was happening during the process. They made a stressful time a bit easier for my grandmother and for the rest of the family.

I came here because I have to do physical therapy on my amputated leg. The staff has been GREAT! They have gone ABOVE and BEYOND. The staff is very helpful, interactive and they all ask if I need anything. The staff tried to accommodate to my needs. I really liked playing Bingo and attending Men s Night, I thoroughly enjoyed these activities. I would give Olde Knox Commons a 5* Rating. This is the best facility I have been to, and would highly recommend it.

While the center staff are friendly enough they are extremely disorganized. My father (a double amputee) was a long time resident of Olde Knox Common and also a veteran was admitted to the hospital and the Olde Knox Commons discharged him and gave away his bed. Our family did not find out about the discharge until the day he was scheduled to leave the hospital. The center directors were unwilling to even apologize about the situation. Now as I type my father has no where to go all thanks to Olde Knox Commons. Think long and hard before you trust them with your family member.

My father was at Olde Knox Commons 2 years ago. He was at another facility when our family requested for a transfer. The Social Worker came to the other facility, completed the paper work and had him transported the same day. The staff was very knowledgeable, kind and understanding as we faced many challenges with my father after his stroke. The therapy team did an outstanding job rehabilitating him. The Doctor and his staff addressed all our concerns. The building was always clean and free from order. My family felt comfortable and welcome during his stay. He is no longer with us, but we Thank God for a beautiful experience.

If you are looking for a good facility to accommodate your love one, I recommend Olde Knox Commons. When you enter OKC you receive a warm friendly welcome from the front office staff. There is lots of love and happiness passed around the facility between the staff and patients, the CNA's, Nurses, Therapist, cooking teams and custodians. They make you feel at home from the first day to the last day. It was my second stay at OKC in 3yrs for back surgery Rehab. I received the best treatment from my 2 assigned therapist but all the therapist was involved in helping me heal. A special thank you to each and every member at Olde Knox Commons. Keep up the good work.

My grandmother came to Olde knox for therapy following a stroke. The nursing and therapy staff were wonderful. They worked extremely hard to help her regain her strength all while treating her with dignity and compassion. She completed her therapy and returned home where she is able to take care of herself with minimum assistance. I highly recommend Olde knox for any skilled nursing and therapy needs you may have.

Olde Knox feels like home to me. I've never been a part of a skilled facility where the passion and genuine love for the patients was almost tangible. There is lots of laughter and hugs. These patients are our family. We are so honored to have the responsibility of caring for them.
