The wife and I stopped by on our way from Yosemite to Santa Cruz. Glad we did. We both like port wine and have a Christmas Day tradition of port wine, fruit, and cheese as an afternoon snack. While the white port was interesting, when we moved to their more traditional ports they were a revelatio...
Delicious! !!!!!!! I can't remember how many I tasted five or six but they were 5 out of 5 winners there wasn't one I didn't like highly recommend. Only reason for 4 stars is there a port house only which is not their problem or mine just sayin...... it's my wife's problem. Free tasting for parties...
A lovely winery in countryside in Madera county. Our tasting of Ports was the best variety we've experienced. Highly recommend their dessert Ports.
Ficklin Vineyards is Awesome as always. The people are always great! The Ports are always exceptional.
New world port is generally overpriced, one dimensional, and cloyingly sweet. Not so for Ficklin ports. Even their younger bottles far outclass most of what is available in the United States from Portugal at a comparable price point. The tasting room is fantastic, with old tractors outside for the k...
The port was excellent and with the outside area to sit around and enjoy it wss great.
The staff was extremely friendly even with the large crowd.
Small but NICE* Great and plentiful options to try and to buy. The staff was courteous and knowledgeable and eager to help.
Absolutely obsessed with these ports! Wonderful environment and great people!
Enjoying a bottle of the new S'MORES port.
Another hit.
All of their ports are top notch! This is not an exaggeration, but you basically want to buy a bottle of every single wine they let you taste.
The tasting was informative and well presented. The ports were great.
They put on great fundraisers. It's a lovely place and festive atmosphere. Very tasty treats wine samples. Yum!
Their port wines are great. This place went from one of my favorite to scaling things back a little and streamlining their tasting experience. I guess your going to lose a little bit of that old school personal feeling the bigger you get. Still one of the best looking tasting rooms on the trail.
Excellent choices in fantastic Ports. Tasting room has barrels surrounding you as a WONDERFUL backdrop for tasting these awesome ports.
We arrived just minutes before closing, but they stayed and shared several delicious ports with us. The 10 year old tawney port was particularly tasty.
I love visiting this place because where you do the wine tasting is inside of a warehouse where they keep all berrals of wine. Looks vintage and very intriguing. The employee that was distrubiting the wine was very knowledable of the comoany's history. The wine itself here is very good to me be some...
Walter, David, and now Peter Ficklin have produced one of the finest port houses around. To truly appreciate Ficklin and its ports, you must have multiple visits and get to know the staff and the ports. While their standard pours are great, take the time, and money, to invest in some of their spec...
Best ports in the world. Peter the vintner is a master enologist. The tasting staff are informative and welcoming. Great experience.
Very beautiful, great wine. Even better customer service
My friends and I were here for a chocolate and port pairing seminar. A lot of care went into this event, which was both fun and informative. If you enjoy chocolate and port, definitely go if they have another!
