Cinghiale

Prior to heading to Cinghiale I heard from others that they didn't enjoy the food at this restaurant in comparison to other Cindy Wolf restaurants. Rather than taking their advice and reconsidering the venue, my boyfriend and I were terribly disappointed. The service took very long! Food was bland, very small portions, wine selection not so impressive ... It took 30 mins before I received my first cocktail! Bad food waste of $150!

Food is just not good. It's overpriced and undercooked. Pasta was hard around the edges and hardly warm. I don't understand how this place stays in business with such poor food quality. I have given it three chances and all three time myself and my friend did not enjoy the food. Stay away unless you are there just for the drinks. Friendly server!

The chef was very pleasant and explained each piece to us as he handed it to us and answered any questions we had. This is also a BYOB restaurant so don't forget to bring a bottle of sake!! They also take precautions very seriously for indoor dining.

Having traveled and staid in Italy for quite a while, I can claim a pretty good experience of authentic Northern Italian food. Although I rule out most Italian places as they claim being Italian by virtue of serving pizza and/or pasta, Cinghiale delivers really serious Italian food. The ingredients are top notch and the kitchen does a terrific job assembling those into delicious recipes. If you want to experience the type of dinner, food and wine you would get by traveling to Northern Italy visiting the trattoria and ristorante, head to Cinghiale and you will get it; 100%. On top of this, the service is impeccable, the ambiance and decor are very nice and tasty. Finally, you will rarely come across such a wine list. It is very broad, covers all Italian territories, vintages, grapes and growths. It offers from affordable nice wines to top end vintages. You cannot not find the wine that will satisfy your buds and your wallet. In conclusion, Cinghiale is a winner and is here to stay.

Very good. Made reservations for 7pm on a Saturday. Arrived at 7 and was seated right away. The restaurant has two sides to it as far as seating goes. One side is more of a vibrant atmosphere, the other is more of a more intimate experience. The service was excellent and the food was the same. Expect to spend around $100 to 200 with tips. Also free valet parking.
I cannot tell a lie

We went to Cinghiale for a nice dinner with some friends. We found the service mediocre the food bland and without any flavors what so every. Everything is overpriced and poorly presented.
Our particular waitress was condescending, annoying and very pushy. We were so disappointed with the meal and service. The only thing that saved this review from being no stars was the restaurants atmosphere is very stunning to bad the food isn't.

All my favorite places are Forman Wolf, and the food lived up to my expectations, exceptional. So much Barolo, Barbera, and Barbaresco. I was in foodie/wino heaven! Cheese for the last course, but cookies, too.

I am totally lost as to why this place is so popular. I wanted so much to like it - when we walked in it reminded me of the restaurants we love in Italy with the antipasto displayed and the very lovely decor. We went there for a very special occasion with another couple and I really was looking forward to it based on its reputation. But what a terrible waste of time and money - the food was skimpy and bland, and the service was just ok. The drinks were expensive and watered down -- and we were shocked at the disappointing food quality and rather small portions ( which wouldve been fine if only it tasted pretty good). There' s no point in going into further detail on what we ordered except to say it was stunningly tasteless. Each couple paid almost $300 w/tip including a couple of drinks at the bar first - and this also would have been just fine for really good food and service -- but this was truly one of the worst meals for the money I've had anywhere. I had to apologize for convincing the other couple to try this place. After we paid the bill we took a cab over to LaScala for pasta and wine because we were literally still hungry. I know this place is popular but I do not get it all. I'll take The Prime Rib and LaScala where you know you're absolutely going to get good food and be full when you leave.

Very good food, nice location. We had the calamari appetizer and grilled broccolini, super tasty. The saltimboca was also very good. I would definitely come again to try other dishes.

An excellent wine selection highlights this wonderfully enjoyable restaurant. The menu is a nice journey through Italy.

Always a great meal and experience. The Italian wine list is expansive and welll representative of the entire Country.

Went for baltimore restaurant week. Everything was delicious. 3 courses for a great deal.

The atmosphere and service were great, especially considering that we were such a large group. The food, however, was not as great. Everyone came away from the meal with the same feeling of meh. As it was restaurant week, it is likely that the menu was "dumbed" down, even still, I'm not sure we'll be going back again.

Went to Cinghiale last year. One of worst experiences in years. The bartender had no idea how to make an Old Fashion. It was watered down with ice to the point you could not taste the bourbon. Sent it back. I ordered the wine pairings with my meal. The waitress placed this cheesy looking paper placement with circles emblazoned with the name of the wine that will be served. I felt like a 5th grader. The service was interminably slow that night. I remember the appertizers were deceit, but my entree also had to be sent back and the I waited and waited. My wife had finished her meal by the time my entree returned. The head witress apologized for all of the inconsistencies and offered us complimentary desserts. I vowed to never return, but I was given another gift certificate to Cinghiale so I am hoping that the next visit will be better.

We had the duck and the NY strip. Both were cooked perfect, and the service was top rate. Highly recommend.

nice italian food. relatively pricey place but well worth the money for a nice night out.

I ve honestly had better tasting meals at Carrabba s for a lot cheaper. I got rockfish and it was so grossly over cooked. The apps and pasta dishes are uninspired, it s a joke of an Italian restaurant. Go to Little Italy if you want a good Italian dish in Baltimore, save yourself the money and disappointment.

Do they give out 6 stars? No? Ok well they should for this place.

Beautiful upscale classy modern contemporary Italian cuisine... exceptional service! Make a reservation for the crowded weekends, quieter during the week.

My boyfriend took me here for my 29th birthday!!!! We ordered our 3 course ($30) and four course ($60) meals. Very decent prices. First time I tried duck and I loved it. In my opinion, duck is way better than steak. Although I was not a fan of the side of mushrooms in a balsamic reduction, everything else turned out fantastic. Not to mention their deserts are out of this world. Over all AMAZING food, great service and lovely atmosphere. I definitely will be a returning guest. I absolutely loved my experience! Cingahiale is an outstanding, one of a kind restaurant and I highly recommend making this place your next date night.

Food was well prepared and tasty Restaurant week menu included 3 courses. The atmosphere was nice. Not thrilling but nice. Our waiter was attentive but condescending when I asked questions about wine choices. ( they are know for the wine cellar). I am not sure I would go back

Our waiter was incredible! We opted for the chef tasting and the food was just okay. Not what I expected from such a prominent restaurant. I've also seen a few other reviews about the host being unpleasant and I 100% agree. We overheard him changing our table to a different room because we weren't dressed up to par for him apparently. It put a negative spin on our anniversary dinner.

The Cinghiale is an amazing experience. The staff was on top of everything. The food was incredible. Highly recommended!

The food was perfect, except for the tiramisu. It was severely over coated that I tapped the excess on to the plate. The good part of my experience is the wine recommended matched perfectly to the kind of palate I was looking for. The negative part.....service started out so slow my guests thought we were a "pick up" table aka table in an area not assigned to a server. When I called in my reservation I said we are celebrating a birthday, the server was not informed. For fine dining I expected better steps of service.

Chingale is one of our favorite places to eat. The food is always amazing, the flavor combinations they put together never disappoint. The staff is always friendly and engaging. The atmosphere is great. If you're looking for a nice night out, Chingale is your place. Make sure to try their risotto.

The Ambience was nice. The Waiter did not present his name when introducing himself,Menu was not properly explained.Although the room was dimly lit with candles,the menu print was very small.So it was very difficult in reading the menu.For an Italian restaurant the portions was quite small, The salmon had no flavor .The only thing that was nice is the dessert and calamari,in which was fit for a 3 year old,I thought coming for NY i would be impressed with a nice restaurant in Baltimore.

Cinghiale is my favorite ''special date night'' restaurant. It's a real treat to go there, and we go especially to get their Burrata, and their seared foie gras. The two rooms are beautiful and the service is always impeccable.

It was so good the first night, we had to come back the next night. The salumi offered was top notch (definitely order the norcino) and the pastas very good. Wish we lived closer! I feel like I owe all these people dinner at my house now -- and your money is going to help a city and its people at a hard time. If you're looking at this and thinking about going, just do it.

I visited during restaurant week and sadly will not be coming back. First of all, it's a very nice, classy atmosphere and the service did not match that. I found myself constantly waiting on water refills, and our drinks (cocktail and wine) came after the first course was already served. I also asked a woman who wasn't our server for salt (because our server was serving a bottle of wine to another table and I didn't want my food getting cold) and she gave me a rude look as if I should be asking my server that. As for the food, I ordered the seafood squid ink spaghetti and while the flavor was delicious, the shellfish was rubbery and I was only given about 5 pieces of it, 2 shrimp and 3 calamari rings. The desserts were pretty lazy as well. I think they used restaurant week as an excuse to cut corners when this is a time to attract new clients.

Got the 4 course meal and everything from the calamari to the perfectly seasoned and cooked veal was great.

this is NOT your typical Italian restaurant. It is a three or four course menu. Not everyone will like the choices of the day. If you're looking for veal parm or pasta bolognese, this is not the place for you.

If you're a foodie, it's a must try. Servers are extremely knowledgeable and pleasant, and they should be, with an average two-top costing $300 if you do some wine. At a minimum of $50 a table in tips, I'd be nice too.

The downside: On busy evenings, their valet service is horrendous. And without a doubt, Porsche's and Jag's get immediate attention. We drove our Ford that night, and waited a total of 35 minutes for our car. We watched as people who had just gotten their dessert when we turned in our valet ticket walked out and jumped in their Mercedes with little wait. We even watched a group of gentleman who had three cars between them: a porsche, a jag, and a VW. The Porsche and Jag were out in 5 minutes. The guy with the VW was stuck, like us. We wished we'd driven our BMW that evening so we could have gotten home earlier. What's more, the manager insisted the car priority wasn't the case - despite our showing him blatant examples as he watched.

This is definitely a restaurant foodies should try. Just drive a nice car, or walk - or you'll be waiting a while.

Delicious food, attentive staff, fun time was had by all!

Great host, waitstaff and valet. Rude manager or whoever he is in suit and tie. Seriously, you should learn how to ask if we are done with our antipasti before taking the plate away. And he was rude when asked about it. Where is your restaurant service etiquette? For that alone if I ever experience that again, I would suggest patrons to to Sotto Sopra instead if I am to have a sit down mean. Heck, I would suggest Di Pasquale's instead, eventhough the setting is casual and closing time is early.

Amazing food... we each ordered the 3 course meal ($65) and enjoyed immensely... portions much larger than expected.

Amazing atmosphere, excellent service. We did the "prezzo fisso" which was a 4 course experience paired with wine (optional, but highly recommend). Everything was incredible, can't wait to go back!

So good! We didn't realize when we went it was restaurant week. Food was delicious and the branzini was on par with it's sister restaurant Charleston. We will definitely be back soon!

I have been eating in Baltimore for the last 18 years and I have tried most all of the $$$ and up restaurants and this one is at the top of the list.

I would give it four and a half stars but you can't do that. Great place great service food was amazing. Extremely good wine selection. Can't say enough good things about this place. I would highly recommend it.

Superb, informative service. Food beyond reproach!

Everything was great. Started with amazing bread, then delicious tomato soup, and fantastic fresh pasta!

The pasta dishes are creative and delicious and are large enough to serve as a small entree. The duck loin was very good. We appreciated the help picking out a wine to suit our tastes.

Perfect spot to grab a bite to eat when you re flying solo for the night. Staff is very knowledgeable and pair things to perfection.

Good place for delicious italian food. Fell in love with this place from the 1st taste. Service treated us so kindly. Prices were average for the menu.

Place is beautiful, the service is well but the pasta that we eat has to improve. One of it was too salty, the other was dry and one of it was not cooced well. The desert was ok.

I usually do not enjoy fish. But the bronzini and salad were out of control. Italian at it's best here in the inner harbor.

The sommelier was superb as was our waitress. That being said the food was not what I expected for this class of restaurant. My group started with the bruschetta as our appetizer; it had no flavour. Their twist on the dish added goat cheese which was utterly bland. The tomato and zucchini topping also had no flavour. A dash of salt, some fresh basil or even some balsamic vinegar would have made a world of difference. The main dishes were ok. I will grant that we were a later dinner party, but still plenty of time before closing. The dish I had, duck ragu if I remember, the noodles were undercooked to the point they were chewy.

It is always spot-on. We had the soft shell crabs light night and they were fabulous! The wine selection is always wonderful and even the bread and olive oil is a diet breaker.

The food was lousy, the waitress was rude, talked too fast and too softly, was self-important and made the food sound a heck of a lot better than it turned out. The staff was extremely interested in selling us bottled water, expensive wine and drinks, but not a decent meal. The atmosphere was stuffy and awkward, making us feel uncomfortable. When the food arrived, I ordered a chicken and pasta dish, I felt like I was playing Where's Waldo with the chicken. It was mixed with the pasta (which was bland, but plentiful), but I also had to look for the bleu cheese and walnuts, which were apparently in the witness protection program. The dessert sounded grandiose. However, the only grandiose thing about my chocolate cake was the price. The actual cake was smaller than a hockey puck, but was quite rich and tasty (I recommend you eat it slowly, as there's not much of it to enjoy).

I'm not looking for anything other than good food and service and am happy to pay. Shame on the management. Horrible experience and food.

So if you want to pay a lot, get treated rudely, have a minimal amount of real food, this is the place for you. Otherwise, Macaroni Grill or Olive Garden will be a better choice.

We have been coming to Cinghiale from Howard County since the restaurant opened. We have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. My friend and I spent Valentines Day here and both had wonderful meals. There was a tasting menu with limited options. Every course of the 4 course meal was superb. This was most likely the best meal we ever enjoyed at Cinghiale and , unlike most suburban restaurants, the exemplary service matched the quality of the food. We won t wait as long before returning again. Thank you Cinghiale for an exceptional evening.

Wine selection was very good got the Chianti Classico. Food was smaller portions but very very good. I got the duck breast and it was out of this world. We also got the grilled calamari and it was superb.

The service was great and the drinks were delicious. I did not enjoy the food. I have no idea what I was served when I ordered the gnocchi, my favorite Italian dish. I would say stick to the charcuterie and drinks.

This restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. The bread sticks and bread were stale. Service was slow and the portions were tiny. The grilled calamari appetizers were all of 2 oz. The salad was the smallest salad I've ever seen. After we complained about our entrees they brought out some complimentary gnocchi that was decent. Overall, slow service and bad food for $400+. No thanks, I won't be coming back.

Amazing restaurant! Food was great as always and the staff goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is happy with what they've ordered and that it is an enjoyable experience. Tuesday are 1/2 off wine bottles... great selection of wines.

Anyone who said that their food was bland obviously spends far too much time performing suction on an exhaust pipe. Every. Last. Morsel. Was. Amazing. I smoke and the flavor was over the top and more than I could have anticipated. The service was outstanding and our wait staff worked as a well-coordinated team that anticipated our needs and even brought us items we were unaware we wanted until they arrived. Exemplary experience for my most recent Anniversary, and the overall was amazing. Cheers to the good people at Cinghiale for making an already special night absolutely perfect!

Upscale Italian dining options and some amazing wine & cheese to pair with...

Had a great dinner here. There was complimentary valet. The staff were very attentive. The food was absolutely delicious and the location was fantastic. I'd highly recommend Cinghiale for fine dining in Baltimore.

I find this restaurant too pretentious and the food just adequate. I have had good meals but I have had many that left me wanting. Prices are rather high.

Had a casual business dinner here on a trip to visit an agency in Baltimore. I saw many Italian restaurants in searches and for unknown reasons chose here - what a great choice!

We had the fixed four course menu. All the dishes I had were unique and exquisite. First was a grilled calamari, second was a chestnut pasta (unbelievable!!) and third was venison loin that had the traditional dark cherry/berry sauce paired with a surprising spicy mustard that really made the dish stand out. I chose the dessert that was gelato with espresso poured over.

What a great meal!
