I ate here not to long ago with my family. The service (from our waiter) was incredible as well as the food! We went to order a bottle of wine and were told by the owner that they ran out of the bottle we wanted. The owner then recommded another bottle which we agreed to try. when the bill came we then found out it was a $100 bottle of wine. the original one we wanted was a $40 bottle of wine. Yes, we should have asked the price but when you are being recomended a bottle of wine in place of another you would think that you are being recommended one that is a comparable price! We felt like we were swindled and this put a bad taste in our mouth. it was never once hinted that this would be a pricier wine. Un ethical sales!!

Walking by this restaurant seemed to have a great vibe and cool atmosphere, it was probably one our favorite places by time we left. The food was absolutely amazing. Also we learned they have great deals like 50% wine night. And pre fixed dinner menus you just can t turn down. We loved it. The owner stopped by to check on us, we had a minute to speak with her. She was so personable and awesome to talk to. We laughed and talked about her restaurant. You can tell she puts her best into her business and it shows. We will 100% be regulars at this restaurant!!!

The only reason I haven t given this place a five star rating is because I haven t eaten all the entree s as of yet. What I did have so far was off the hook 5 plus stars. The white pizza with pesto make sure the crust is well done is to die for..absolutely amazing the only modification is I left out the gorgonzola which I think may over power it. The pork chop scarp out of this world juicy succulent full of flavor amazing ! And the Italian ricotta cheesecake is a must and the best rendition I have ever eaten.. being a former restaurant owner I will be going back to this place to try everything on the menu!! At which time I am sure to give it a five star rating

Great food. The menu offers perfect taste bud seduction. Choose and you will be rewarded with very fine cooking. The portions are more than you can eat size...until you start eating and enjoy it so much that before you know it s all gone delicious. The cheese cake is made daily by owner partner Rebecca. And top it off with owner partner Ralph s Limoncello. Truly a rewarding dinner. Sit in the back for romance or at the bar for pleasant banter. Tell them Chris sent you said I d buy you a beer. Ralph will put it on my tab. Enjoy. Remembering safety first...

I can't say anything negative about my experience here. The food was fine, the service was too. The prices (relative to what we were served) were very fair. Yet, there was something missing and I can't quite put my finger on it. A certain class or polish that was missing made my experience here 4 stars and not 5. I hate to sound elitist or snobby, but the difference between a 4 and 5 star experience is subtle and Il Posto is just not a 5 star restaurant. If you're in the area and are looking for decent Italian food, you'll probably be perfectly happy here. If you're looking for something really special. . . perhaps not!

Food was absolutely incredible!!!! Had the meat lovers pizza and the rigatoni bolognese ... so so so good. Rebecca and her husband own and operate the place and you can tell they really care a lot about the food they serve. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Friendly staff, reasonable menu choices and timely service. Note that we went on a day and time that it was pretty slow/empty. Definitely more expensive than your average South Norwalk restaurant. There are in my opinion, places with lower prices in the area, that have similar dishes.

This was our first visit on a warm Sat night in November. We came for 6 pm reservations and were sat right away. Gave our drink order pretty quickly but it did take 20 mins for server to return after drinks to take appetizers and dinner order. So apps were put in at 6:20 (3 meatballs) and we had to ask 2 times for them to be checked on and they finally came at at 7:05 (45 mins after putting in our order)--- the server apologized and offered them to us for free but never said why things were so behind. We also found it strange that our bread and olive oil came out 45 mins after being sat as well when that usually comes out right away. Do to the crazy wait with appetizers we were nervous about our dinner order but our server claimed our dinner would not take as long as the appetizer and would come out shortly after so we stayed. Our meal came out 20 mins after our appetizers (not terrible but server made it seem like it would be quicker). The food was good. During our time we heard other people at two diff tables apologized too and offered free dessert or drinks so something was obviously behind or just poor management. So we basically asked for a box and the check when our meal was served to make sure we wouldn't wait any longer at the end and like said, the appetizers and one round of drinks were removed. The food was good but I would not come back based on the waiting times experience.

The food was delicious as well as the Italian mule cocktails. When the Owner greeted us at the door and we told her it was our first time dining there, she said "everyone likes the food more than they like me". WELL she was right on! She was seated at the bar with some friends talking very loudly not to mention dropping F bombs just about every other work. SO VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I honestly couldn't wait to leave. Made for a very bad Saturday date night out. I won't go back! PS- And who ever heard of an Italian restaurant that doesn't serve bread.... If you want to succeed, tone it down and get some bread becuae your food is really good.

This is my favorite local restaurant. The food is to die for, probably the best in the area and absolutely homemade, comes out piping hot, to perfection. I ve never ordered something I didn t like. It s a family owned restaurant and Ralph and Rebecca treat you like family. They care about the quality of food and drinks they serve and it shows. Plus, Rebecca is a blast and will instantly become your friend if you sit down at the bar and talk to her. I m a proud local regular now!

The hole restaurant was filled with nats. Seven of us went out to dinner and we a all Spent the hole dinner which was inside swatting These bugs. They were everywhere it was a horrible experience. These kind of bugs come from stagnant water not from outside.

Service was okay. Didn t get a waiter until requested for one. Became the forgotten table. Thankfully our meal was delicious and Rudy, the busser, was extremely attentive to our service. Wish he had been the waiter. Recommend take out since the dining experience wasn t the best.

Newly opened in the old location of Strata 18...renovated space with a more modern design. We've been a few times already and the food is excellent...the chicken parm, pork chop, roasted chicken, and several pasta dishes. Two big TVs at the bar perfect for dining and watching sports. Worth a try.
