Very enjoyable evening at the Hi Life. Staff and food were great. Martinis were excellent!
Very enjoyable evening at the Hi Life. Staff and food were great. Martinis were excellent!
Place needs to be updated - very dark, musky, and dated layout. Food was good and staff was great! Would come back for lunch, but definitely not for dinner.
The food is pretty good but the atmosphere in this place leaves a lot to be desired.
Fast services. The food could use some more seasoning, tasted a bit blend.
One of my favorite places to go with my husband, as he can get steak and I can get sushi. Very eclectic menu, including drinks, and everything is good. Check out the daily specials, it's always worth it. The ambiance is kitchy old new york, but it works
Hi life is kind of an institution. It's been around forever and does the kind of hip dive with better than expected food thing very well. Service is usually pretty friendly. The vibe is relaxed. It's not going to blow you away, but it's a good neighborhood bar and restaurant
I HI-ly recommend the Hi-Life Burger - it is yummy! You can't get much better than a crumbled bacon filled cheeseburger. And my new favorite cocktail is the Hi-Life cocktail. Not too sweet, not too tart!
Great food,good atmosphere.
For 20 years I never had a bad dish.
Highly recommended
Best party of the year. We were lucky to get in for that price in the city. Open bar, great DJ, Hors d' oeuvres were passed...each and every one yummy. Drinks were great and staff very fun, accommodating and friendly.
It is a good place, the staff are adorable and polite, the place is neat and they play good music and they are not too expensive they deserve what you pay
A fun atmosphere and crowd, tasty food and friendly service. Pad Thai was wonderful and dessert hit the spot. I'll definitely visit again.
My bestie victoria C told me about this place. It s so good!!! I loved the sushi, and I can t wait to come back when I m in town.
We always return to Hi Life for reunions and get-togethers, and on a recent visit for brunch we were glad we did! Always delicious and friendly with a nice booth ready for our arrival.... fresh blueberry muffin, cinnamon toast and strawberry butter were a treat... and then eggs Benedict, huevos rancheros, big salads and delicious Bellinis were all delicious! Our server was super nice and the place had a great vibe as usual... thanks Hi Life for being an upper westside institution!
Best local brunch in the hood. Great bartenders and staff.
Had been here on a Tuesday night and absolutely loved it then went on a Saturday afternoon and had bad service and even worse sushi that was not fresh. We ordered 4 different rolls and all of them tasted bad. If you don't have fresh sushi then don't serve sushi. This was during a sushi happy hour. Last, the salad I had was half a head of lettuce uncut with just blue cheese dressing. I don't know if that's a thing here but it sucked.
Best bar and grill in Manhattan. Sunday night bartender is incredible!
I love their nachos and loose especially for this is clean and they are friendly you can feel outside in summer and the price very comfortable
The food is great and the ambiance lively. Dined on a Friday with my Twinsie and there was a DJ spinning cool tunes.
Great food and atmosphere. Staff was really courteous and very helpful
My boyfriend and I finally ate here after walking by it so many times. They have a great menu and offer specials everyday of the week! For example, one day is 50% off sushi and another day is buy 2 appetizers get 1 free. We came on the day of buy 2 appetizers, get one free. We ordered the quesadillas, thai chicken wings, and sliders. Everything was delicious and very filling and kept the cost very low! The staff was also super friendly. I will certainly return and recommend this place.
attentive staff but still gave us our space to enjoy our meal. Had the westside and eggs Benedict for brunch. Good portions, fair price. Their orange juice is delicious.
Nice service not great food. This seems to be a drinking place.
A neighborhood staple. Eclectic ("bizarre" according to my friend) menu. Several different cuisines, but all done well! Used to be cheap / affordable for happy hour, no w no one is, but they still have competitive prices. Make a rez during this wacky time (3/21).
I would have given this place zero stars if I could! RUDE bartender who shut the lights off in the place. He never called last call or anything. We were trying to call our uber home and he literally shut the lights off so it was pitch black in the place. Another patron asked to use the bathroom and had to do so in complete darkness. Disgusting!
This restaurant is excellent and roomy, the menu was enchanting and the prices were very affordable. fast, efficient service and very attentive staff. Will definitely recommend this spot.
My food was excellent, I had the Argentinian flank steak. Flank steak is a fairly low grade cut, but it was flavored and prepared very well, making it very enjoyable. The creamed spinach was very good, the mashed potatoes were average, but good. I will say the the frozen daiquiri was weak and lacked flavor. A friend had a lemon chicken dish that was really good and well. The service was above average and service times where good. Fairly good menu variety also.
Would surely recommend trying out this place. Exceptional character, tasty food, fantastic service. Fantastic work.
Good food and drink. Nice owner, long standing favorite with upper west siders. Warm cozy pub -like atmosphere.
Nice bar, but was not impressed by the food. Had a very average chicken dinner.
Consistently great food and great atmosphere. A true institution
Attentive staff and good drinks. Will do back again for brunch! Hot toddies for the colder weather!
From the first moment you arrive in that place they give you a great feeling. Very warm team, it is a lovely restaurant to enjoy with buddies or with your date. delicious cuisine, professional chef, comfortable pay and courteous service. Warmly recommended.
Went here for brunch. Serving size was small, prices were high, and had a very inattentive waitress. Will not be going back.
A funky throwback restaurant. Always very busy, but staff manage to still be attentive. Not a huge menu, but everything we've had has been good, and with specials it's enough to let you come back often without repeating dishes.
Hi Life is our favorite local restaurant. The food is delicious, proportions large, service is attentive. The restaurant is always hopping, so reservations are advised.
This spot has amazing service and delightful menu. The best restaurant in the city. The food came out fast and the prices are fair. Highly recommended.
Great little pub and Grill. Skirt steak was awesome
This place gives first-rate service as well as delightful menu. One of the best place around town. The meals came out rapidly and the rates are affordable. Recommended.
Never been in this establishment but the food smelled good...so we stayed. What I didn t like was the Bus boys and Waiting staff standing around looking at us while we ate. I don t care how little work there is for them to do or if it s an attempt by the staff to get a heads up on cleaning up. It s F d Up. Don t do it....ever!!! I won t be back!
Excellent venue, very family friendly (whilst still great for the grown ups), top quality menu, good value, great staff and atmosphere. Highly recommended!
We love the Hi-Life for brunch. It's always bustling, but we usually get a seat right away or after only a short wait at prime time. Homemade muffins and cinnamon toast precede a delicious variety of classic brunch options. Bravo Hi-Life!
Wonderful food. I had brunch. The coffee was excellent and so was the eggs Benedict. And they give you their homemade cinnamon toast and blueberry muffins for starters. The wait staff was lovely. I'm adding this place to my list of favorites on the UWS.
Love this place, big bowl pastas my favorite. Very friendly staff. Im here once a week.
We stopped in for drinks. Great service and a very relaxed and cordial atmosphere!
This place is great! Nice find! The apps came out at the same time as the food but not a huge deal. Great atmosphere and the staff is really friendly. Coming back for sure next time in town.
Came for dinner; food was delish, staff was friendly and accommodating. All 7 people in our party cleaned our plates!
Funky atmosphere, excellent food, friendly and attentive service
Hi Life has been a go to spot for drinks and inexpensive eats for decades. They have special deals on items such as sushi (50% off Mon & Tues), appetizers (3 for the price of 2 on Wed & Sun) and more (check their website for deets). They also offer a daily happy hour from 4-7pm and boiler makers have their own menu (!). The food varies from okay to very good although the funky, dimly lit atmosphere does a lot to make up for the minor culinary imperfections. The authentically flavored Caribbean rum punch is top notch.
A great NYC style restaurant offering no-frills dining and strong drinks.
Great service. Food okay. Not great but didnt suck
Quick and pleasant service at even crowded times. Indoor or outdoor seating is comfortable and not overly packed in. I've never been disappointed in any of my meals here (whether brunch, dinner, or late night nachos and potato skins)!
Great neighborhood place with an excellent selection of craft beer, cocktails And a good selection of food. Try the fish tacos. Excellent.
Love it. Good food & great staff. Let's not forget the patrons. Luv u all.
Disappointing. Old standby served stale bread for brunch. Kitchen slow for a pretty empty Saturday morning.
Great place for brunch, service was top notch, food was fantastic, and servings were plenty big enough to fill you up.
It's just okay. $33 for a glass of sauv blanc and a cocktail is just a bit of a stretch. They no longer do any happy hour specials and you have to wait in line to order at the front counter. Find a friend's rooftop to drink on instead and save on all of the extra fees and upcharges. It'll likely be a better view anyway.
I adore this place, which appears to have come straight out of the movie Swingers. Food is excellent with unusual variety as you can get classic pub fare as well as oysters and sushi, but all good. Bar has a bit of a dive bar feel, yet the place is clean and the service at the tables is excellent. They even have a full menu of just boilermakers. I highly recommend for a birthday party for an adult.
Solid menu and good drinks. Friendly and unpretentious
Seriously the friendliest staff and best selection of food on the UWS. Great bartenders and good conversation. Also this person left a 1 Star review for a struggling small business that has complied with every aspect of rules regarding seating during phases 2-4 but left a 5 star review of the dmv. This is the future lunatics want.
Excellent customer service, excellent food , great table distance for covid protocols , food was amazing drinks was off the top owner was very friendly on top off hes guest way to go , if you looking for local bar and food this is the place amazing night at the high life
Variety of different foods, pleased kids & adults alike (especially happy hour:)!!
The drinks are strong and they play the best old school hits.
Steak had to be sent back three times to be well done.
Went here a few times during our stay, comfortable atmosphere, super good food, and good value!
A cozy and comfortable spot for dining, especially for brunch. Staff always courteous, food always good.
The drinks were highly over priced but they were good...the bartender was definitely quick to make the drinks but I was a little disheartened by the look on her face when I asked for something...so I just kept my order simple
Good people, good and the frozen tequila shots are fantastic. The good is also good and not that expensive.
Quick service with no frills. Stop in and go about your day.
Nice atmosphere, staff was great, food was good. Will go again.
