The Coinstar Story In 1989 Jens Molbak was sitting in his dorm room at Stanford University, staring at a jar of coins on his desk, trying to think of the easiest way he could turn all that loose change into some much-needed cash. He realized that there was simply no way to do it. Founding Coinstar two years later, Jens aimed to create an easy and convenient way for people to turn their loose change into spending money without having to sort, roll, and take it to the bank. Along with two classmates, he built a kiosk that could accurately do all of the hard work. This meant that all the customer had to focus on was how they were going to spend the cash they got back. By 1992, the kiosk was ready for its first installation and Coinstar was subsequently named one of the fastest growing companies in the US. Fast forward to today, and Jens vision of helping people make their coins go further is bigger than he could have predicted. Check out the timeline below to see just a few of Coinstar s biggest moments.

Coinstar: Turning Your Spare Change into Something Valuable

Coinstar is a leading provider of self-service coin counting machines that turn your loose change into something valuable. Founded in 1991, the company has revolutionized the way people convert their spare change into cash, gift cards, and charitable donations.

With over 20,000 kiosks located in grocery stores, drugstores, and other retail locations across the United States and Europe, Coinstar has become a household name for anyone looking to get rid of their loose coins. The company's innovative technology makes it easy for customers to deposit their coins and receive cash or other rewards instantly.

One of the biggest advantages of using Coinstar is that it eliminates the need to roll coins or take them to a bank. Instead, customers can simply pour their coins into one of Coinstar's kiosks and watch as their spare change is counted automatically. This saves time and hassle while also providing an easy way to turn loose change into something useful.

Another benefit of using Coinstar is that it offers a variety of reward options beyond just cash. Customers can choose to receive an eGift card from popular retailers like Amazon or Starbucks with no fees attached. They can also donate their spare change directly to charity through partnerships with organizations like UNICEF or Feeding America.

In addition to its core coin-counting services, Coinstar has expanded its offerings in recent years by partnering with other companies in the financial services industry. For example, it now offers prepaid debit cards through partnerships with major banks like Chase and Wells Fargo.

Coinstar's success can be attributed in part to its commitment to innovation and customer service. The company regularly updates its technology to make sure its kiosks are fast and accurate while also offering new features like mobile wallet integration. It also provides excellent customer support through phone lines staffed by knowledgeable representatives who are available seven days a week.

Overall, if you're looking for an easy way to turn your spare change into something valuable without having to roll coins or visit a bank branch, then Coinstar is definitely worth considering. With thousands of convenient locations across the country offering multiple reward options including cash back without any fees attached along with charitable donations opportunities - there's no reason not give them try!
