My daughter had so much fun but was very disappointed that the playground wasn t open. Even though I totally understand taking social distance measures a 3 year old does not understand every time. Also, NO food venues were open. I wish the website would have specified those details, because I looked at the website for social distance guidelines before I purchased our tickets. She definitely enjoyed seeing all of the animals, but we were very hungry when we left. It looks like a ghost town after visiting the giraffes. Nevertheless, we will be back when things get better after the world has a hold on COVID-19.

I had an awesome time, it was my first time going to Atlanta zoo and it was AMAZING. The only down was the layout of the park, I got lost multiple times and that was bothersome; very bothersome. Other than that I had so much fun.

I went to thee Atlanta zoo using my citypass. Parking on site was very limited and no space available when we arrived. We had to park 500 feet away. The zoo itself is very small and not entertaining at all. Few animals were available and the ones on site were either sleeping or far away from our sight hiding somewhere. The zoo was at some points under construction. Few of the attractions like climbing the wall were not free for kids which I found not right. The place is very boring and after only one hour my family and I decided to leave the place. That was a waste of time and money. Next time I will choose a different attraction.

I visited on a Wednesday afternoon about 1:30pm and it was a great time. The zoo wasn't crowded and many of the animals were being feed lunch so they were active and visible. The panda's and gorillas were the highlight. There's some expansions going on so I'll be looking forward to visiting once they're complete. There's snack bars located throughout the zoo but on this visit only the ones located near the entrance were open. Another opinion is to bring your own food as there's plenty of places to sit and eat. Very enjoyable couple of hours.

Covid-19 closures means almost no chance of getting out of the scorching heat of the day. Standing or walking in order to maintain some semblance of social distancing. Two hour mostly self guided walking tour. Venues that were open didn't disappoint. Daughter was burnt by the time we left.

Had a great time. Lots of animals. (Turtle Overload) Lots of shaded areas throughout the zoo. Lots of restrooms very clean and clearly marked throughout. I appreciated the restaurant (The Wild Planet Cafe)with their efficiency. Got food quickly and was able to continue with my tour in a timely manner. Enjoyed the southwest salad with chicken and the cheeseburger and fries weren't bad at all.

Got here early while the crowds were small and the temps were cool and it was enjoyable.

Not all the animals were out yet and the lions were super sleepy.

The staff was super helpful too.

We especially liked the Fossa. It s a small exhibit but it s a rare animal that I believe only exists in Madagascar.

Parking was easy in the morning but when I left around 1 it was jam packed. Might be easier to take an Uber or something in the afternoon.

There is lots of shade too in the lark. As of this writing the new safari park is still closed but it looks amazing so far.

The zoo in Atlanta is very, very wonderful. This zoo is very useful tech trying to inspire us to the value of wildlife and love of animals. Here you can see the animals, their beauty and life. I love to visit him. There are many animals here. He is always clean and well maintained. With each arrival here, something changes and transforms.

Great zoo, sadly we missed the opening of the Savannah exhibit by just a bit.
My only real complaint is that the pressed penny machines cost a new crisp dollar bill so my tube of quarters and pennies did us zero good.

A relatively small but lovely zoo with more than enough to warrant a return visit. The exhibits are very well done and the variety of animals to see and learn about is well worth stopping by. Staff is generally courteous and knowledgable, and the zoo always offers an enjoyable experience.

Really good place to rewind and relax. Kids will absolutely love this place. With so many things to see and trains and carousel kids will have a blast. And there are good amount of options for food as well. Will definitely visit again and will recommend others to visit as well.

The new Savannah exhibit is very nice. It's cool too see the elephants up close in the indoor area! The petting zoo, carousel and playground are perfect for little ones. The pandas! There are also bike racks and it's easy for our family to bike over from Old Fourth Ward. Not happy about the parking deck tree-slaughter debacle though...

Fun family day! The food was expensive, as expected, but it was actually good and decent food. The staff was very friendly and courteous and my kids loved seeing the gorillas. I hope the Savanna exhibit opens soon!

Not the best one I ever seen. There was not many animals to see and train ride too expensive for what it is, it does not go around park like trains do at other Zoo we have visited. On the other hand, The tree top adventure was fun we all enjoyed it.

While things are different because of COVID-19, the Atlanta Zoo has handled this well. Sections are gated off and marked everywhere, along with employees that are masked and sanitizer spread throughout.

Zoo visit was great. First time there and timed entry worked out very well. Traffic flows in one direction so everyone is able to see everything. Hand sanitizer throughout, mask required. Great experience.

Was good. Loved the gorillas and the otters! There was a lot of construction going on which is great. But a lot of areas were dirty, had a lot of cobwebs or shut down. Also, a lot of the employees weren't the most enthusiastic.

We had a great time at the Atlanta Zoo. Really enjoyed our kids getting to see animals up close and personal. You see everything from big animals like elephants to small naked mole rats. We packed our own snack food and were there from open until 1pm. The staff was friendly and pointed us in the right direction without being asked.

It feels like every city needs to have a zoo and so there is one in Atlanta too. If you are visitor on a tight schedule then you could be off your list.
For locals with little kids, a good day outing on a sunny day.
If you are particularly fond of zoo's then San Diego or St Louis would worth a visit.

Very disappointed. Expensive for the size of the zoo (even at 1/2 off with my outside membership ). Some nice exhibits, but many animals not in their habitats and no inside viewing except the elephants. I've been to a lot of zoos and this one just didn't stack up.

I had a very fun time with my family. We absolutely loved the giant panda twins! The only problem was we thought it was going to be much bigger but it was still worth it! I would recommend coming to Zoo Atlanta!

If you do not want to be mobbed by school aged children go after 1pm. 7 buses unloaded the Morning we went. Thought the layout of the zoo was poor. There were quiet zones which I needed due to sensory processing issues but volunteers in the quiet zones did nothing to keep the area quiet. There were screaming kids in the quiet zones. Definitely will not visit again. Highly recommend Nashville Zoo, or Palm Beach Zoo in West Palm Beach Florida over Zoo Atlanta. Was very disappointed. Food was way overpriced so eat before you go and bring snacks.

The staff did an amazing job keeping safe social distancing, environment clean, hand sanitizer everywhere and very helpful. It wasn't crowded because you need a time slot reservation due to Covid 19 and that was a great idea. It was very enjoyable! Great job to the staff!!

Wow. Went on a Wednesday afternoon during a school week, so not crowded. Had never been but decided to get season passes for my family. The sales girl tried desperately to get me to buy a bigger package for other people who may or may not one day visit my family and just have to go to the zoo. I'm talking a desperate sales pitch, I felt like I needed to go into the family dynamics of why we don't need tickets for grandparents....ridiculous. Well, the state of the parking lot should have explained why they try so hard to hit you up. The sidewalks are so overgrown with grass and inches thick of red dirt that you can barely walk on them, much less push a stroller or chair comfortably (thankfully not our concern). Don't expect anything but red dirt, overgrown weeds, and tree roots exposed in the parking lot. The zoo is small, you can walk it pretty quickly. Any exhibit with glass viewing, expect the glass to be covered with handprints so bad that it makes viewing difficult. There is a smell in the air, of trash cans that need emptying and animal poo. The elephant exhibit smelled so bad that you couldn't even look, it was mid afternoon and they were cleaning the inside house and the elephant was not on exhibit, it was locked in the back....but the area is way too small, the smallest I have ever seen for an elephant. Sad. The otters my goodness, what a sad little area and boy did they smell terrible. There was trash on the grounds and I saw a ton of employees walking around but not once did I ever see anyone keeping the grounds neat, no one with a broom except in the petting zoo to get poo. The interior exhibits smell bad, it is stinky. Around every corner there is some sort of coin collection thing begging for change for animals. I found many of the "cages" for the birds to be way too small, the huge horn bill birds need room. Basically this zoo is small and old and dirty, you won't want to take your hands out of your pockets. Sad that this is the best Atlanta can do. Go to Jacksonville Zoo for a pleasant experience.

It's a wonderful place and a must see. The zoo had several animal exhibits closed because it was cold. I don't really like zoos because the animals don't look or seem happy but here, the animals are beautiful and appear to be well taken care of. The habitats are very compatible for the specimens and are huge. Sadly, with mass extinctions going on because of poaching, over hunting for sport or illegally trapping for the pet trade, these may be the only animals of these types children nowadays may ever see.

Fun. Clean. Onsite parking. They have misting fans - a must during the summer. Large enclosures so you may not always get an up close and personal view, but it's clear the animals are happy and well cared for.

The place is small, but very much fun. Take the time and watch them eat,lay,chill,poo,fight,play.... There was a lot of restaurants close, but you could bring your own food. The place is also cheap, only 20 dollars when you buy online. There was lots of kids, they should go as often as they can.

always love visiting here! it feels both small and large at the same time. Most animals are in a good viewing space and the Pandas def steal the show for me. I recommend getting there early. Hoping to get an annual membership soon and very much looking forward to the Africa exhibit in 2019.

I decided to take my three year old grandson for the first time to Zoo Atlanta this past Saturday( July 18th, 2020). My GPS took me to Boulevard Ave and there was a sign that stated Atlanta Zoo Parking (by Grant Park) for $10.00. I said to myself why are they charging if parking is free. Proceeded to parking deck and asked why there was a fee if the recording/website states free. This guy stated this was another way to the Zoo to keep your car out of the sun and to have easy access to the entrance and I can take elevator two(2) to get there. I said okay, cool.. and gave him $10.00. Well... he LIED. My grandson and I walked across parking level two(2) for 15 mins trying to enter the Zoo to no avail.I said to myself maybe he said elevator one(1) level and went to that level to no avail as well. I decided to call the Zoo to let them know I was in the parking deck trying to get to the main entrance and there was no signage as to where to go. CSR, Ms. Judy asked was I on Cherokee Ave. I told her no I had entered on Boulevard Ave and she said your back should be facing the Boulevard and walk the path to the entrance . I was so frustrated at this point and went back to elevator level three(3) where I parked my vehicle and saw the guy who took my money. I stopped before heading to the path and asked him why he mislead me and he had no answers. In other words he was speechless. I wasted 30 mins when I could have been inside the Zoo with my grandson walking to see the animals.I suggest Zoo Atlanta put on their recording and website their are two entrances to the Zoo Atlanta and the one from the parking deck is a long walk and if you have toddlers please bring a stroller. I also suggest since you have cameras in the parking deck and you see people walking or wondering around someone needs to come check on that person to see whether they are okay.My last suggestion would be to put signage in the deck on how to get to the entrance of the Zoo.

It was a good visit during coronavirus. The whole place was marked off where you follow a path. All the interactive activities were closed off except for the merry go round and the train. The zoo isn't as great as you'd expect for an Atlanta zoo and some of the animals seemed sad but it was overall pretty good and the family enjoyed it!

Visit Jan 2020

Visit Jan 2020
Super fun, was able to get pretty close to the animals more so than other zoos. Right at the start being able to feed the flamingos was awesome. While in the winter a lot of the animals are less active it was still super cool. There is so much to see and it is really fun. The little events scheduled around are nice also, it was very educational to learn about the different animals. The plaques by each exhibits was very informative especially about the animals risk level. Also having donation boxes around was very cool. Over all it is a wonderful experience and I would love to do it again.
