I love Atlanta Zoo I used to go there every day when I was a child
Love this place and my daughter immensely enjoys it. On a good day and time, you will be able to see all the animals.
Overall, a nice zoo, we left with membership, though alot of the exhibits were empty. The only thing is at the zoo cafe, some, not all of the workers were less than thrilled to be there and it showed when they would interact with customers. I guess thats what happens when u hire someone straight out of the hood.
ITS ALL ABOUT THE PANDA TWINS!! this was a nice few hours of animal looking but really, the pandas is where it's at! I think this zoo will be extra special when they finish their upcoming expansion!
Zoo Atlanta is one of our favorites! They have done a great job making the animals accessible while creating a safe environment for the visitors. Willie B s Pizza was delicious.
Zoo Atlanta has done it right with coronavirus. Flow of foot traffic is one way through the zoo and people abide by the socially distancing measures.
Just had some amazing experiences at this zoo today!
It's not a large zoo though... Took my wife and I half a day to explore it all... With that being said the exhibits were very well designed to give you that close up feel.... Which lead to several amazing encounters like having the Lions with there faces starting right at you you whilst letting out there mighty roar, watching the turtles munching on some lettuce,The reptiles being active inside there habitats, the Gorillas just socializing/chilling, the pandas sitting on there backs tearing into some good old bamboo, and a wildly fun encounter with a kookaburra..I don't think we can ever forget this place.... The staff being top notch and informative also help put a good mood into ours hearts... the landscaping made each path fell like a work of art....only other thing is the food was a little pricey yet very tasty...Zoo Atlanta we will never forget how you made us feel..
Its nice and can be one of the attractions.
Unfortunately I visited the zoo in winter and most of the activity or off exhibits. The zoo was quite.
I recommend to add some activity for winter sessions
Animals extremely well taken care of. Fun and interesting bird show. Many wonderful and exotic animals to see. Staff is friendly.
They took great measures to help protect against COVID. It was really nice.
Due to COVID-19 there arent any indoor/outdoor shows and some of the exhibits are not accessible
If you are visiting Atlanta, you really need to visit the Zoo. So many animals. You can easily spend 4-5 hours here.
Great place, I liked the fact they take very serious social distancing and have the path separated for safety.
The staff was friendly and helpful. Lots of walking of course but plenty of places to stop and rest. Also nice that the parking lot was close for when we ate lunch.
They have organized and controlled the number of people who can enter to make it feel relatively safe. Our favorite was feeding the giraffe! Employees are helpful and friendly.
We went during covid 19 and some things were closed.
The various birds present in Zoo Atlanta were beautiful. Three giraffes were large in size. A white peacock was a unique bird. The baby guerrilla was cute. Pitcher plants near the tiger exhibit was cool.
My favorite place to go with our son in Atlanta. It was bot busy because people locally called it cold. We are from Utah and snow so 40 degrees is toasty. Some of the coolest animals and our son loved it.
It's a great Zoo and would have been a five star but the time of year wasn't great for the time we went cause a lot of the animals were moved due to the weather.
Lots of animals a great place to sit and stay a while.
Had a great day with the kids. Super friendly folks working there and it was a really clean park for an intercity place. Thanks for a great day
We had a great experience. We ve been to bigger zoos, but this one is a great size. With lots of animals and not to much walking. Nice train, petting zoo and play areas for children. We did not buy food, so I cannot comment on the prices. Shows and educational are scheduled throughout the day. The grounds were clean and well maintained. They were just finishing up on their beautifully designed elephant display. Parking could be an issue (long walk) if you don t arrive early. Fun day for the family.
This is a great zoo. It's not the biggest zoo I've been to but it's got a great layout. The animals have plenty of room.
It was a great experience to see. Haven't been there since I was a kid.
Had a great time! The exhibits were wonderful! Absolutely loved the new elephant and zebra/giraffe area!
Zoo atl keeps getting better and better. It s really a huge difference in quality since last year with their new additions. With the mild atl climate I feel like we are able to use our memberships so much more than other city zoos we have had membership at. Very limited parking so get there early, otherwise easy free street parking is an easy walk.
Pandas, they've got Pandas and a whole lot of other exotic animals. Think the emphasis on numbers not quality of enclosures is a big let down. There is building work ongoing, hoping at least for some animals things will improve. A bit annoying about paying extra for the miniature train rides (and other rides), in others zoos I've been to they are part of the entry fee. Overall good zoo and a good day out with the kids
The Atlanta Zoo is always a treat for us and especially for the niece and nephew who love the place dearly!! The staff are always kind and so great with the kids! It can be hot but it s a great time for all, always. Thanks for another fun time, looking forward and hopeful for many more visits with the kiddos!
They had multiples of the animals and enough space for the animals.
My Girlfriend & I visited July 7, 2019 during a weekend visit to other Atlanta attractions. Zoo Atlanta were the most disappointing of all. We arrived early , approx. 10am. We were aware of parking issues. My problem issues are: entrance to expensive for what we got to experience (if major exhibits are going to be closed or under long term construction, lower the $30 Adult prices or warn customers before paying entrance fees. Some of the exhibits lack attention getting. There's only so many birds you to view. The primate exhibits were the only Zoo like experience we enjoyed. We were completed in 1&1/2, Probably could have completed sooner. The only reason I am giving 3 Stars are because of the Military free entrance and primates. I've visited many Zoos in this country. For price of entrance and exhibits, I won't return even with the Africa Savanna opening.
Absolutely awesome. Open and safe place to take your kids during this pandemic.
very good zoo #ZooATLisTheGOAT
i loved everything especially the giraffes
Finally I got to visit the Atlanta zoo because of my lovely daughter and v both ngoyed alot
I love going to Zoo Atlanta. We go at least once a month. Get your Zoo membership it's well worth it!!
Always clean with friendly staff. The splash pad is nice to have on hot summer days. Definitely worth having a pass, and I recommend going on weekdays to beat the weekend crowds!
Pre-covid, the zoo was great. Too many things were closed off for it to have been worth the entrance fee. I feel if they just opened the entire park people actually have more room to stand away from people.
Quite a few exhibits, the petting zoo is great. The playgrounds for the kids to run, climb, and play are wonderful.
The experience is better these days, but still restrictions, so, be prepared.
We went on a Sunday in the summer. It wasn t crowded and most of the walkways are shaded. The exhibits are thoughtfully planned to give nice viewing angles. It s not huge so you can probably make it through in a few hours, which was perfect timing for us.
Well done Zoo Atlanta with your social distancing safety policy implementation! My family and I were thoroughly impressed with our visit. The timed entry, one-way path, marked 6'+ viewing spaces, and multiple hand sanitizer stations are all great initiatives. The staff was beyond helpful and friendly, offering nearly personalized information and question answering. Crews were constantly around the facility cleaning surfaces and rails. The animals literally interacted with us, especially the elephants, otters and many birds. They willingly came closer to the viewing areas as we were there. The spacing out of the crowd made our visit much more enjoyable. We, and other guests, were able to go at our own pace and enjoy plenty of viewing opportunities. We look forward to going back very soon! Well done!
To small and honestly not worth the price of admission. I'm so glad I had a free pass to get in. Still had a great time though.
Edit:
To the owner or person who responded to my review. Look I didn't mean to sound negative but would you rather people lie or be truthful? I've been to a few Zoo's and I'll be honest. The Louisville Zoo in Louisville KY is probably the best so far. I've been to Cleveland, Cincinnati, Atlanta and Louisville. I did love seeing a Panda bear for the first time. That was cool. Your all's gorilla exhibit is amazing. Just the overall experience was, just ok.
Need I say more? There s panda bears. There are plenty of great animals to see beside pandas too. Some advise to boost the experience is to get there early to get a good parking spot (free parking is limited first come first serve basis) and try to avoid times of a day (summer season around noon) of super hot Georgia heat.
Had a lot of fun at the zoo we got to see a ton of animals and we took alot of great photos lots of animals my kids had a blast
This zoo is fantastic. We took some friends from another country and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Clean and nice animal displays. Courteous employees. Reasonable food prices. Highly recommend.
I would normally give the Atlanta zoo five stars. It's nicely designed. There's lots of shade to help keep you cool. Most of the enclosures are very nice. But on my last visit a lot of the enclosures were empty. Some of it was under construction. They're making it better so that's a good thing, understandable. But several of them it just appeared the animals were gone and they haven't replaced them. It wasn't just that we didn't see the animals. You could tell from the empty enclosures that no animal was there. It was a little disappointing.
Fun
Even with the COVID rules, we were able to get around and the grand kids loved it
Great zoo. I love they are adding new animals and events. The 'Savannah' part is awesome. Train and carousel Rides for the kiddos. I'm hoping the rhino will be there soon. It's my 5 year olds favorite animal.
Always a great time at Zoo Atlanta. It's expansive, clean, and you can always see something new. Their new reptile exhibit is awesome and I'm sure the new African Savanna exhibit will be amazing as well. It's a great way to spend a couple hours or even the entire day.
Went on a cold day. I think everything was out except the gorillas, giraffes, and zebras.
Just got back from Zoo Atlanta. Both my kids had fun. We saw most of the animals. The indoor exhibits were closed due to COVID-19 which was fine. Masks are required for 10 & up but we all wore it. There wasn't a rush which was good, probably because we have to make a reservation to go there. We'll definitely go back again.
Zoo had reopened with social distancing guidelines. They had hand sanitizer dispensers throughout the park and closed off portions of the zoo. The kids and I (not our 1st trip) wore masks. We had a great time and enjoyed our visit!!!
I enjoyed my time here with mother and my nephew. The facility was very clean and the animals were cool to see. I like how they are kept in an environment that works for them and not just cages. Definitely will come back to again
We had a great time today for a field trip with my son's kindergarten class. The animals were really great and the staff very friendly! Found the zoo to be really clean and didn't notice any litter or trash.
We ate at nourish after the panda exhibit, got there around 1115 ish. There was already a line out the door, but it moved quickly. If you are ordering a lot of food, they give you a vibrate token to come back for it, but seriously only about 4-5 mins. A club sandwich (which was reallllllly good!), A Ruben, chicken tenders, 2 sides of fries (the meals come with fries as well), plus 3 sodas and a water was 52.00. not horrible, but not exactly budget freindly. You can bring your own food if you want to .
The only reason for this 4 star (and not 5) is bc the parking is beyond rediculous. I got there just 20 mins after opening and I had to park about 6 blocks up. My 3 yo who was walking (renting stroller inside) was not happy when we left and was tired and worn out and we had to hike it back to the car.
Overall, we had a great time and saw everything in about 3 hours.
Visited a few wks ago and had a remarkable time. The staff were all friendly and maintained strict control assuring everyone did their part in slowing the spread. The exploration throughout the Zoo has been constructed to ONE WAY and there are designated viewing areas of each exhibit that are socially distanced so everyone can have an opportunity to enjoy safely! Good selection of animals and exhibits to enjoy. Fun for the family and all ages in between.
It's a nice place to visit. They have enhance it and the Elefant habitat it's incredible.
We usually enjoy this zoo tremendously.
Today we saw a lot of employees not wearing their masks properly and we felt trampled by many other guests with no one there to enforce social distancing. As the sixth highest state for covid in this country we have to do better if we want to keep going out and about.
Otherwise, the animals were a pleasure and it s a beautiful zoo.
children loved it. reptile section was closed. but wonderful experience
Zoo Atlanta has a variety of neat animals, and their habitats are well kept and appropriate. My 2 year old daughter loves animals and loves this zoo. We have a year membership, so we ll be there several times this summer. Luckily they have a fun splash pad to cool down in the heat.
the pandas were my favorite part. i love how close the animals get to you
They are steadily upgrading this zoo. When I first came 12 years ago, there wasn't half as much to do there as there is now. And their currently building a multi-million dollar "African Savannahs" exhibit that's sure to be beyond amazing. They have a playground with a zipline above, carousel, train ride, sprinkler Park (so bring swimwear), and an decently priced restaurant. My children love the petting zoo, pandas, tigers, gorillas. Although some of the bird enclosures make us incredibly sad. They're really evolving this zoo into something fabulous.
We had a wonderful time! We got there right when it opened. It wasn't too hot and not very crowded. There's lots of shade and they even have a splash pad and mist fans to help cool off in this hot GA weather. Lots of different animals to see. My 3 yo just loved it! We spent a total of 3 hrs there. Which was sufficient with a 3 yo and 8 month old. Definitely recommend!
Paid 140.00 for 5 of us and the only animals we actually saw was the elephant and lion..smh Everything is fenced off not worth the money. They should have discount tickets.
Zoo Atlanta was a welcomed surprise. Lived in the city 9 years and finally decided to visit. Enjoyed my time here.
Took our grandson today and had a great time...all the animals were out about so got to see them all! Missed the opening of the new savanna by one day...can't wait to go back and see all the elephants, giraffes, etc. in their new home!
Very well keep Zoo. Very informational. The whole family had fun learning about the different animals. There are few rides for the kids and also a train that goes on a short track.
It has been a few years since my last visit but I went with a group that included 3 adults and 4 children. Everyone had a great time! It was a very hot day but there were some shaded areas outside, big fans with mist spraying, and a couple of air conditioned places to get some relief spread across the zoo. Didn't have a lot of interaction with the zoo employees but when I did they were helpful and nice. Plenty of food/drink stands in case you dont bring your own items. The animal exhibits were good and the kids loved it. Will definitely come back to visit.
I love animals but, we can in the middle of the week to beat the crowds and still charged the same amount with no employees help, cool little trivia, or activities. Everything was closed, and alot of animals wherent there.
Not a bad zoo, seemed smaller than expected. Social distancing done right.
Fun family day! The food was expensive, as expected, but it was actually good and decent food. The staff was very friendly and courteous and my kids loved seeing the gorillas. I hope the Savanna exhibit opens soon!
May be we went too early around 11ish. There was only one elephant that too very far. Train ride is worthless. I thought they may take you through most parts of the zoo but that wasn't the case. There is some construction going on
Enjoy their rotating/ new exhibits and their permanent ones. Brought our 16 month old to see the African Savana today! She was roaring with the lions and waving at the elephants.
Lots of fun.Wish it was bigger & had more animals. Loved all the animals they did have. Enjoyed the food, snacks & drinks.Love all my souvenirs. Would return. Wanted to see a giraffe so bad but exhibit was under renovation.Loved the visit. I will return
Great zoo! They are currently doing refurbishments to their African safari exhibits, but there are still tons of animals to see.
The zoo was very busy when we went, but we had no problem getting close to seeing the animals.
Great place to spend the afternoon. The employees were so. Ice and very well informed about the exhibits.
When we first arrived we were suprised that this zoo was actually a lot smaller than we thought it would be. But! Don't let the size fool you because they pack a lot of animals and use the space very very well here. The highlight of our trip was the panda exhibit. The two new baby pandas were absolutely adorable and made the whole zoo worth visiting.
A really great experience. We loved the new giraffe enclosure.
Great zoo! Really cool animals, it's super clean, and there are yummy food choices.
It's was ok couldn't experience everything due to alot of exhibits being closed
Very disappointed that most of the attractions were closed (The reptile house, inside observation rooms, all the playgrounds). Many of the exhibits had their animals off display. No zebras today and the giraffes were in their pens due to it being muddy .
Overall the employees were very kind and courteous. The zoo is clean and well kept.
I wont go back again until the virus hysteria has died down some more though. Price per ticket isn t worth what you pay for what you get.
Nice zoo with a good collection of birds and animals. The African Savannah collection is a recent add and the pandas are a big draw. I enjoyed the myriad varieties of exotic birds the most.
It is a family place and they allow you to bring in your own food to eat at one of the many picnic tables on campus. Of course the animals looked happy in their habitats.
Atlanta Zoo has done some amazing remodeling. The exhibits provide some of the larger animals with more room and better viewership for guests. The zoo does a wonderful job with social distancing and crowd flow management. The marked route allows you to experience every outdoor enclosure up close. Indoor exhibits are closed for safety. Great job Atlanta Zoo!
Fun zoo. Great place to spend the day. Limited parking though so we arrived early and had no problems. My kids still talk about the pandas.
We had a blast!! Social distancing was enforced & all who could, were encouraged to wear masks. They directed you through the park in one direction & had outdoor shopping & eating. They cleaned the carousel & train after each use. The bathrooms needed to be tended to a lot more though. They were messy, some were lacking soap & toilet paper.
