Initially, when I first met with my publisher everything seemed great. I was so excited especially after taking so many years fighting to finish writing my story.
Secondly, when I got my first box of books it was actually a printed version of my ruff draft. So disappointing because the moment I got my books in the box, I was so excited I just drove to the people who pre ordered and given out a copy. It was not an hour later after I had gotten my first book, with the book cover designed so beautifully unique my publisher, people started calling me telling me that my book needs to be edited before published. Do you know how disappointed I was? So I had to edit even longer, not to mention all the time I spent going through page by page to make sure it's done properly and free from all errors, typos.
Finally when I get my completed copy I had been through so much and I was exhausted with the time spent on the book after I paid my publisher to do what I was doing, when my books started selling, I found out that my ignorance allowed her to keep my cd to my book.
Now the word cd may not be correct but I want everything they belonged to me in case I want to add on it later or add volumes. Since I had agreed to her owning the most important part (financial) for my book, Saved but not Innocent, I just kept a positive attitude that it would sell enough for myself and my publisher to make money.
I have been trying to reach her and I have not gotten a response and its been over 4 months. I went on Amazon to purchase copies of my own book and no books were available for purchase.
I have missed several opportunities to sell my books at conferences and networking events due to not being able to reach my publisher.
Very poor service. I'm just trying to figure out what to do when my publisher abandoned her part of the contract?
