Extremely creepy. Rep didn't introduce himself until I asked who he was and started off with asking if my kids pay and sleep overnight in the play house in our yard. Unprofessional and I wanted to lock the house and call the police.

Two weeks ago, a gentlemen by the name of Roger Nickell came to our home to leave a card. He told me he was leaving for vacation and would like to come back in a week. One week later, he returned and my husband told him he was not interested in talking at that time. Last night, at 5 pm & 8 pm, Mr. Nickell returned. The first time, he did not get out of his car.
The second visit, he came to our door and proceeded to knock for almost 10 minutes. When he didn't get an answer from me, he OPENED MY BACK SCREEN DOOR and continued to knock. I still did not answer, he got into his car, sat in my driveway for about 5 minutes, then drove down our dirt road and sat at the end of the road for another 10 minutes. We live in a rural area and anyone knocking on our door, especially when it is dark and cold, is suspicious. I called the Sheriff's office. When questioned by the Sheriff, he blatantly lied and told him he had an appointment with us for 8 pm. Of course, I told the Sheriff that was not true.

From the other reviews I have read, this seems to be a continuing problem with Platinum's sales team. I would think it would be in the best interest of the company to train their team to not approach a home in a rural setting at night. We are 2nd amendment home owners and not afraid to exercise that right. If they return, I plan to call the Sheriff again.

Leaders will also help with any questions you may have along the way. We want any new agent to come out and succeed. And I promise you if you put in the effort, you WILL!!

The hiring manager of the Topeka Kansas branch called my phone and was very rude.when I asked her the named of the company she ignored and dodged my question twice.she then asked me if I had a driver's license I stated that I didn't.i asked her the name of the company and she hung in my face.when I called back she hung up on me.i called again later to asked her the name of the company and why she hung up.she said you are not a good fit for our company. So I said so that means you dont have to respect me and hang up in my face.she acted as if she didn't care and began to belittle me by telling me I didn't fit the company. I told the lady I will be contacting my lawyer the conversation was recorded.this company is very rude and I'm am very offended I wouldn't recommend doing business with this company at all. They micromanage the incoming (new) workers. You have 60 days to study and get your license. they push you to where you are stressing out (take state exam in 2 weeks). I was getting called at least 2 to 3 times a day as well as text messages. Just so they can tell you how to study and repeat what they texted you. Money is not everything but my family is. Just seeing the stress that this company puts you through, its not worth it. Keep in mind the only reason they want you to work for them is so they can line their pockets with money. You get 40% of the sale but if you dont return the next week to work you have to wait 3 months for your check. If you can put up with it, go for it. After the military I made the decision not to put up with this much BS. My wife did work for them for a couple. I went to visit her in the hotel room and they said I couldn't stay even though my wife paid for the room with her own money. They told us it was messing with the team vibe, and we both got kicked out. This doesn't make sense cause you only have two meetings (not mandatory, highly encouraged) in the mourning and one at 11:00 p.m. you work by yourself so what team vibe do you have. you are a private contractor selling platinum's insurance. So why did I write this well, I informed them that I was no longer interested in the position and I thanked them for the opportunity. They immediately got upset and questioned my integrity. If they reply to this, it will only be to help what little reputation they do have.

Live in Hamilton, MO. Agent named Doug along with his "higher up" showed up at nearly dark for a 10 min plan review from GTL plan currently have, took over 1.5 hours of our time. After that called and called even after we told them that we were keeping the GTL plan showed up 2 weeks later late in evening to "ask for 10 min so that we could sign the paperwork':!!! I will say we did NOT! Used unethical tactics as a Insurance Producer should......and seemed very untrustworthy.

I have 2 major cancer policies under the Platinum umbrella, Yes they did come "door to door", but the company was founded with the farmer in mind, For the smaller businesses and individuals to have access to good coverage. I spoke with the company and have had them for years, They pay claims promptly, always kind and courteous, If and when you have a diagnosis, they will have an agent work with you to follow your care. They also have real people answer the phones. I don't have to talk to an automated machine or push one for English. I definitely would refer my friends and family to them.

This company is terrible!!! Do NOT do business with them. First of all you have to really dig into the sales people to get the most of the full story, it took me wanting to cancel the plan I signed up for to get the complete picture that they will never tell you up front.
Then when wanting to change from yearly pay to monthly was a nightmare. They were so quick to take my $700 out of my bank account for yearly pay and its been over a month now I have been waiting for my refund to change to monthly. If this is how they process a simple refund, I am willing to bet getting money for a claim is like pulling teeth. Needless to say I am done with this company and will never do bussiness with again.

Horrible company to deal with. First the salesman showed up at dinner time. We told him to come back another day. He came back LATE that night, told us it would take a few minutes, ended up being there several hours. THEN lied about the services covered!
Company was ridiculously difficult to work with as far as cancelling the policy and refunding our money. 9 days later and cannot get a response to when the refund will be deposited, or sent out. 9 days! DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY!!

We had 2 employees come to our door. We ended up signing up to get the paperwork, as my husband has heart problems and we thought this could be helpful. They told us that if we decided not to continue just to send the paperwork back without filling it out. We did as told. We were told as long as it was within a week we would receive a refund. We sent it back 2 days after receiving. I used the contact form on the website asking once again for cancellation, when I had not seen a refund. I was never contacted and the policy was not cancelled.
I finally used a break at work to try to call. The whole while 2 auto draft payments had been taken out of my account. We were not told that any more payments would be coming out, we did not fill out any paperwork to continue to do auto draft payments as we were told the first one to receive the paperwork was a one time.
During the call I was told our paperwork was never received back and we should have sent it certified. I was told that instead of using their contact form I should have used my personal email so I'd have proof.
We were refunded $46.00 out of $230. We followed the directions. We never authorized payments besides the first one and yet we were refused our money.

Don't let these people into your homes. Don't listen to their spiel and don't believe their salespeople.

I find I strange first of all that someone show up at my house bc I live 1/4 mile off the road you can not see my house from the road but then for me to say they can come back and they don't. The sales person was looking past me at the door at things inside my home and it made me very uncomfortable. I don't know why a company out of state is going door to door in the middle of now where but I will be keeping an eye out.

Stanwood Iowa was hit by the derecho on August 10th and all of the town was without power for 8 days or more. On the 8th day as we were all cleaning up, 2 young gentlemen from Platinum were going around town in a rental car with no identification trying to sell supplemental insurance. We have 80 year old neighbors who were in the midst of throwing out the contents of their deep freeze when when this happened to them. We happened to walk by while the 2 young men were there, they would not write down any contact information and finally we got them to leave. I would never do business with a company who does this. Stay away from Platinum Insurance!!

Your antiquated practices are unwelcomed. We did not sign up for an appointment nor do we appreciate this. Quite honestly, it's creepy. A company that I have never even heard of has my name and knows where I live? Please tell me where you got this information or WHO you bought it from because I will no longer be doing business with them either.

Do we really need to put signs up to keep people away that are not invited? Your representative even said, "Technically it's not trespassing if there's no sign." WHAT ARE YOU TEACHING THESE PEOPLE?

I've also read your generic replies to the MULTIPLE comments stating almost EXACTLY the same thing I have said in my review. Instead of stating that this face-to-face method of reaching out to customers is part of your business model, I suggest you try something different like sending out postcards and have some sort of code that people can sign up for appointments themselves.

Please have someone from your company contact me so that we NEVER have someone visit us again. You clearly already have my contact information so that shouldn't be a problem.

I cannot rate the Company for their product because I didn't listen to the sales pitch. We live in the county, where we have not had a door to door salesman in 3 years. As for the gentlemen who showed up on our property after we had been working all day we were not in a mood to invite someone into our house. I appreciate a guy or gal trying to make a living, door to door sales is already a difficult field to work. When you show up in the county or off the beaten path people are naturally suspicious. The guy offered No Business Card, (Really, a Company can't provided a Business Card?) and provided no proof of what his business was or what he was selling. Especially in this day and age when all kind of crazy stuff happens. Within a matter of many minutes all of the neighbors in my area were ready to call the Sheriff Dept to have this Salesman ran out of Town. The Companies model is antiquated and needs to come up with a better sales technique.

My boyfriend has worked at Platinum for 2 years in those two years he has earned us trips to Cabo, the Bahamas, multiple Atlanta Falcons games where we sat in box seats, The CMA fest in Nashville, and 10 days in Italy. In addition to the travel experiences with Platinum we have made life long friendships with other agents and their significant others. Platinum has had such a positive impact on our lives I even made the decision to invest in a career here as well! The opportunities here at platinum are endless!

My 3 third week I hit my rookie bonus. SUPPOSED to get paid out $1500 the following week. Come Tuesday I pop my tire. Cant drive on a donut everywhere you go and i couldn't find my in tire stock. Im not about to spend $150 to stay at a hotel I cant even work out of. So i had to leave. Come next week pay day. I only get paid $750. Half of what they owe me. Applied for this company through a third party application. I received a call and missed it. immediately received a text message from Eydie Timmerman, which was completely acceptable. I immediately returned the call to speak with her. Right off hand she was off Standish. Began asking me where I worked and why I left. I told her I was still currently employed. She then informed me my voicemail was full and stated I needed to fix it. I apologized and told her I did not realize it was full. I then asked if they had positions in Ohio as my husband and I had just talked the previous day about relocating. She said that it depended where and asked when I was moving. I told her we hadn t made anything final, we were just talking about it, and that was why I asked. She then stated that I didn t have my voicemail set up and that she had tried several times to contact me and how that wasn t acceptable considering I was trying to find a job and she was trying to offer one. I told her I was confused, that I did have one and it must be full and that I had never received a call or email before today. She told me I didn t need to be rude because she WAS going to offer me a job which in turn I pointed out how rude she was about my voicemail. She then told me that she wasn t offering me a job with my attitude and hung up. Never once was I actually rude to her. She was very snooty, and rude. Not a company I would ever work for with that mind set. If this is how they treat their prospective employees I would hate to see how they treat their current staff. Very disappointed as their website seemed amazing, with great staff.

Two days ago a lady came into our place of business and ask for directions. She didn t have the name of the business she was looking for but explained what they did. No such place in town. She tried to bring up her occupation, and attempt a sales pitch. We were not interested in carrying on the conversation, and continued working. Tonight at 7 she showed up to our home. We live out of town-what people consider the middle of nowhere . She immediately went into her sales routine. We did not give our address or any personal information to her when she showed up looking for an address at our business. When she arrived at the door she was carrying our mail, as if was a kind gesture to grab another individuals mail out of their box. I kept her on the porch, after all it s late, she s a stranger and we didn t invite her. She kept looking around to see into my home and looking for things to speak about-my children, my husbands business. I expressed that I was very uncomfortable with that fact that she was going door to door without invite at such a late hour. I also quizzed her on how she found our home address. None to which she could answer. She had no business cards or identification. She continued on asking questions about my children-as if I hadn t ask her anything. She had a gentleman in the car with her, and if would allow them in for a short while, they could explain what they have to offer. After getting no answers as to how she got our address or even her name, I let her know that I too am an agent, that we are taken care of, and that I do not feel comfortable with her practices. She immediately left at that point, but most all of, she left me feeling uncomfortable in my own home.
