I would recommend staying clear of Zero motorcycles. They are not made for Texas hot weather and highway speed. They will quickly overheat even in 80 degree weather after riding on the highway causing the motorcycle not bring able to be charged leaving you stranded.

Horrible, absolutely miserable customer service, no matter how great your dealer. Constant defects and repairs. Not just speaking for myself, I know a few Zero owners who are all deeply disappointed with their quality, they just don't last past 25,000-35,000 miles. Warranty means NOTHING when the company doesn't answer the phone, send parts or care for customer safety and satisfaction. If you want electric, buy a electric scooter, an electric car or wait a few years. UPDATE. JAN2020 and ZERO is still with ZERO still not repaired.

2017 FXS I bought my first motorcycle in 1967. Fifty years later they fixed EVERYTHING so i bought one --- a Zero. My Zero is perfect, like A+.
By the time the battery is shot I'm sure Zero will have a battery to replace it with that will go three times as far.

Absolutely abysmal customer support. The sociopath who runs customer service was shouting at me that I don't want my bike fixed because I said I'd rather sue then wait 2 months for a new motor, a motor! I don't know what's with the 4+ star rating here. I've had nothing but problems with my 2018 Zero since purchased used with only 1400 miles. I was at a meet-up earlier last month and everyone, every single Zero owner there, had a story of a Zero shutting down in traffic, losing lights at night or get this, runaway acceleration. I've had 2 battery computer replacements, a melted headlight, a my motor is still pulling the bike backwards when I start the bike whether in the garage or at a stop light. My dealer said they've replaced about 5 motors this years. I didn't believe it until they showed me the rack of dozens, of bad motors, chargers even a few defective frames that broke. Supposedly there's going to be a major recall, maybe they said several recalls. If wife sees this post the bike will be at the curb. Zero! your motorcycles are total garbage.

"Zero" = their product support.

I went from full on advocate, telling people about Zero to now hating Zero.
The bike has some glairing issues, but is super fun. This company is garbage. I won't buy anything they touch again.

Got my FXS in 2016. The back end went spontaneously and dangerously out of alignment less than 6 months later. The only authorized dealer kept it for MONTHS and were never able to fix it, and they just "gave up" and refused to do anything to rectify the warranty situation. They just forced me to take a broken motorcycle back and it's been in my driveway and unable to be used ever since. Then, no joke, the batteries started leaking. Unused, cost over $12k, and still had to continue payments. This was my life's greatest disappointment and has had a significant negative ongoing impact I'm still trying to recover from.

2013 FX: Great customer service! This bike is incredible. Enough power to satisfy a speed freak and this thing goes anywhere, off road or on. It's stealth look gets compliments everywhere and you never need to stop at a gas station again. Plug into a 110V wherever you are and forget about the rest.

It's Great Electric Motorcycles But It's Not For Everyone I had stopped at Elk Grove Power Sports for test drive 2018 ZERO SR from ECO to Sport Mode. The power and solid torque were something like Hydraulic motor, it's that strong. Reason of just only 4 stars do to the handle bar is little too low plus seat is uncomfortable for longer drive. Mention of 1990's style hot power-hog halogen for a headlight that will robbed you 1 plus mile per fully charged. Michael may have lost his sale because of Zero won't up grade. Michael is great guy in Elk Grove, CA.

All the research and the dealer visits I have done tells me that these guys are the best around when it comes to an Electric Motorcycle ZERO is where you go. I'd give 5 stars if I actually was able to test drive one I'm sure. They are the obvious choice for me regardless.

I bought a new 2017 DS... new to motorcycles, but this turned me on. Automatic and electric - no regrets, it is absolutely the most freedom you will experience going from point A to point B... I'm not sure how you could improve on that without adding wings. My only problem I had was that the blinkers died on my pretty early on. But then I went to the Scotts Valley manufacturing place in person and they replaced my relay in a few minutes while I watched, and even installed a free storage rack! That's the most excellent customer service, from my experience!
