This was my third trip to Splash Village with my grandchildren. As usual, it was great.

We like to stay in a room right off the Atrium. Our problem was the inconsiderate people who see a really good table and chair seating and feel they can put all their stuff down and leave. A woman who laid a baby down on our clean towels to change a diaper!! REALLY??? Goggles, shoes and whatever dropped off. A little more scrutiny would be a good plan. Maybe write the room number on the wristband and check every once in a while. Four incidents this visit. An elderly man actually argued with me and only left when I threatened to call security. My granddaughter was ill that night and he was talking loudly with family members. We were trying to have an early night. No excuse.

Went for the buffet for the first time. Menu said soup and bread brought to your table. After I got my food, I asked about the soup and bread. He brought the soup. Had to ask again for the bread.
No breasts in the chicken section.
Bottom line, not worth the $3 extra each for the buffet.

Disappointed in our traditional chicken dinner Friday, 8/31 @ 7pm (we had reservations). The chicken was mealy, the noodles had a bunch of liquid in the small bowl they arrived in and the peas and pearl onions were not hot. Our server was great, but our dinner was not. We were disappointed.

Instant potatoes! Okay, so I'm not sure about the rave reviews. I just paid $49 before tip for a carryout chicken dinner for 4, 2 adults and 2 kids. That's roughly $17 a person, for dry noodles, instant potatoes, and gravy that tasted like gravy from a jar, I'm guessing. Chicken dry.

I am German American, my family came here from Prussia in the late 1860s. We have kept with our traditions, including what we eat. They should not be passing this off as German food. Our food is not bland like that, we would never use instant potatoes, ummm no! And I make noodles from scratch, these noodles were something but doubtful anything but frozen.

This place is so overrated it's ridiculous ,bland chicken slow service water taste like it's from a hose and mashed potatoes taste like they came from a box and all of this at an impressive upcharge.

I must first say I'm not a big fan of fried chicken. Just don't like It very often. They can be pretty greasy. But when visiting Michigan for the first time, we made reservations at Zehnders on August 14th, to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. And really enjoyed it. With reservation for a Monday at 4:30, the wait was about ten minutes. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We opted for the famous chicken dinner after discovering it was the best value on the menu. Was glad we could take the left overs with us. It was a lot of food. The price made more sense because we got two meals out of it. We both really liked the noodle soup. It was very pleasant. I actually liked the liver pate more than the cheese. It was a little too strong for me. We also both really enjoyed the bread and jelly. Very tasty. I don't eat cottage cheese so my husband got that, and he didn't care for the dressing, so we were even. We liked the relish ok. I could really taste a citrus flavor in it which is better than tart cranberries in my opinion. The peas were our least favorite. They were fresh but nothing special. We did not take those leftovers with us. The mashed potatoes were warm and creaming. And the gravy was icing on the cake. Very good. But my absolute favorites were the chicken and buttered noodles. We both got dark meat and it was so good. Delivered hot to the table and not greasy at all. It was juicy and the crust was just the right amount of crunch. Honestly some of the best chicken I've had. There's a reason these are famous. I wish we had some here in Texas, but it's good we don't. I'd probably want it more often. Since returning home though, the one thing I wish I could have more of is those noodles. I may need to order some and try it at home but I doubt they'd taste as good. My husband just thought they were ok but I want more. We both opted for the orange sherbet. It was the perfect delight for desert. Loved our giraffes we went home with. All in all it made for a special experience for a special occasion. And we can't wait to return to Frankenmuth again and we'd definitely go back to Zehnders.

The famous chicken dinner wins by all the accoutrements. Whole no one admits it, the chicken is basically the same as across the street, but the service here and all the extras that are standards of the dinner make it the better shop. I've always had wonderful service, despite how busy it is (and how jaded the staff could be). Cass was friendly and her service was excellent. If you're in her section, you'll be well served.

Super yummy! Very expensive but if you can afford it then go here! The chicken is to die for! We go here every year and really enjoy it! We made a reservation a year in advance and there was no problems we actually got in 15 minutes earlier.!

We made reservations for seven o'clock in the Cow Path room. My husband and I dine in the Cow Path room because its very quiet and intimate. By about 7:25 we were still waiting for a table to free up. A young man (maybe the manager) offered us another table that he assured us was a quiet spot. We were reluctant for a second, but went to check out the other table. It was perfect! Right next to a wall, and nobody else around. My husband and I had an awesome dinner! Our waitress Dejonae was so sweet and friendly.

Trying to use my zender card downstairs for dinner instead of upstairs I have always done it this way but for some reason today they told me after I had gotten my order that I had to have only chicken so I went upstairs customer service cuz they wouldn't give me my discount for my birthday in the customer service lady said too bad I got the wrong kind of chicken so she just basically told me to get lost thanks a bunch

Went here a couple days ago and it was a long wait, obviously because of how busy it was. Our waitress was awesome. We ordered the meals for the 4 of us. The chicken we got was dry and bland. The prime rib was under cooked and half red on most pieces. For 189 dollars I don't plan on coming back here next time we come to Frankenmuth. I'm sure there's better places in town for bigger portions and properly cooked food. Just not the greatest experience.

It was amazing. You get so much food, you get a pre-meal before your order is brought out then you get your order. You should get a reservation or you might be waiting for a while for a seat especially if you have a large party. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. If you are looking for real good German food and atmosphere Zehnders is for you also they have a store down stairs of the restaurant to shop after you have eaten.

The buffet downstairs is my ABSOLUTE favorite!!! Definitely the way to go as far as "the chicken dinner" in Frankenmuth goes!! You get the most for your money! And there are several dishes and desserts to select from!!

Food was ok. The chicken everyone raves about wasn't that great. It lacked seasoning and was almost bland tasting. The service was excellent. I like the German beers they offer and my wife and I both had one. All in all it was an average experience not spectacular.

Over rated. I have lived in Michigan all my life and have been to Frankenmuth many times but just ate at Zehnder's restaurant for the first time. I must say over rated and over priced. Chicken was dry and not much flavor. Some of the sides were good but not for the price you pay. Service was good. I recommend that you don't fall for the so called "World Famous Chicken". Honestly there are fast food chicken places that have better tasting chicken and don't cost $19.50.

The food is always excellent no matter what meal is ordered with vast portions. A homely and fancy atmosphere with lots to do and especially friendly staff lends for an enjoyable experience.

My wife accidentally left her wallet on the counter, being the first day of our vacation it would have been a disastrous start, Angie Albright not only turned it in, but waited for us to return a half hour after closing! Excellent example of great customer service, thanks again to Angie

Zehnders provides that home made dinner presentation. The food is good at a reasonable price. There are no variations of chicken preparation, only meat preference. We did visit during covid19 and I found it odd that they left the salt/pepper and seasoning containers on the tables.

Never eaten such over priced food for so little. It's always shoulder to shoulder in all the dining areas I can't even hear myself think. The same wine I can get down stairs is ten-dollars more just to have it brought to my table. Steak is over cooked and mash potatoes were blanned. Coming from a chef myself I can respect their ability to turn tables quickly and efficiently but the price does not out weigh the experience.

We heard this was a must stop when we visited Frankenmuth. After seeing the menu & the cost, we thought we would treat ourselves thinking the food & service would be great. We love shrimp, chicken & roast beef & were very excited for a great meal.

The chicken was very dry & couldn't finish one piece. The shrimp was very tough & not very warm. The beef was very rare & tough but had good taste. The salad was not real fresh & variety could have been expanded.

The facility was amazing & young staff were polite, professional & dressed in authentic costumes which is why I gave this a 2 instead of a 1 rating.

We could never recommend Zehnder's for the quality or freshness of the food but will enjoy the history of the town.

This is a must see for any tourist. The specialty is chicken and it is delicious. The building is a beautiful historic hotel and in the basement is a bakery that rivals the bakeries i visited in France. There is also a lovely gift shop. The village of frankenmuth has a Bavarian inn, 2 water parks. Endless year round events, and shopping. The best thing about this place is bronner's Christmas store they have exquisite ornaments from all over the world. Plan on staying all day. Next year I will stay for at least 3 days.

My family has been coming here since I was a baby. I can't wait to bring my children! Order the family meal and get ready to loosen your belt! Don't forget to head down stairs for the great shops!!!! Be sure to bring home some buttered noodles.
