Chicken dinner 4star. All other food options I have tried have been a fail and I am not overly picky. Fish over cooked. Meat dishes dry. Just stick to the good old traditional chicken dinner here and you will be happy. Staff has always been good for me and my family. 3 star only because all other food choices have been a fail here. Prices higher than you would pay at other better restaurants BUT you do get as much as you want with the family chicken dinner.

Great food!!! Both of my kids were super happy with the family dinner. It's a bit pricey but it was nice to have a family style dinner without complaints!

We had a nice spacious room with an upstairs bedroom, very clean and enjoyable. Also we had the meal plan which provided a chicken dinner just down the street and morning breakfast both of which were very good, and filling. The whole family had a great time in the waterpark as well.

If you have not been to Zehnders you have not experienced all of Michigan

Both Zehnders and Bavarian Inn should be ashamed and banned for exploiting our women and college students. These two places force their workers to work 60+ hours a week at $2.75 hour, they have to work every holiday, and force them to come in on their off hours for training's and meetings. Scrooge has nothing on these two restaurants and their owners! Shame on them and anyone going to these places, all your doing is feeding the greed. This is a case where big corporate would do a better job! Ban them!

The food was delicious! The staff was very attentive. It was a wonderful experience.

I go every year, and the October family style food is okay. Not great but edible, some years being better than others. As an African american, though, I always feel stressed last or asked odd questions. Nothing blatantly racist though.

Totally overrated restaurant, only appealing for +65 ages. The cole slaw was extremely and unnecessary sweet.
Chicken was just ok but tasteless. Breads are mediocre. Service was good.

In one weekend, I had both Zehnder's and Bravarian Inn. The mashed potatoes is the only thing that is better at Bravarian Inn. The potatoes at Zehnder's taste fake like KFC. The chicken at Zehnder's is better. Plus I like that Zehnder's offers chocolate ice cream!

The food is amazing. There is no meal less than $20 on the menu at the restaurant, but online there are things that are much less. I did not ask when I dined in if there were meals less expensive than the all you can eat chicken dinner.

The food and service here is unparalleled. They know their niche and their customers and do everything they can to make your experience here wonderful. If you go away hungry it's your own fault!

Had my daughters wedding reception here. It could not have gone any better. They even made her cake from a drawing my daughter made. It was a dream come true.

Great place to either eat or just wander through the little shops that they have inside. This place is very busy with lots of tourists from all over and you won t be unhappy coming here is all I can say. This place is for old and young people!

We were told to come to zehnders rather than Bavarian and we were very disappointed.
My husband and I both ordered chicken dinners. My daughter had a kids meal (chicken strips) and my son had a hamburger kids meal.
Our waitress was very robotic. Took 15 minutes to get our order. She never got us refills. Brought our food and never checked on us again. I told her twice the Noodles were cold. Then she brought me a TO go container. I didn t want them, they were cold when we got them but she never knew that because she never checked on us. My sons Hamburger was so hard and nasty. My kids fries were flimsy and gross. Our chicken was tasteless. I didn t touch 90 percent of my meal. The potatoes were great, but that s about it.
So disappointed and I asked or told her twice I wasn t paying for the noodles. I should have gotten a refund but it was getting busier.
We were actually there during a slower time, so no excuses!
We stopped at cvs on the way back to our hotel so myself and my son could get a lunchable

I have been looking forward to a wonderful chicken dinner at Zenders for a few years. I finally get to go and am so disappointed. $24.00for chicken that was awful. Tiny pieces, no flavor, hard and crunchy. I find Banquet froze chicken tastes better. The veggies were good, but very small portions. I guess you pay for the name. I will never go back. The manager I spoke to was rude.

Horrible experience from start to end. Drove 1hr and 30min. Because family was saying it's a wonderful place to see and food is great. Although some items we're tasty this is not a place to go if you are Spanish or have toddlers we had a total 4 toddlers with us. And we we're sat at an awful spot. Service was not great,menu was hard to understand. We are tourist from PuertoRico & Waiter didn't properly explain it. We ordered two family meals because we asked the waiter to help us understand we we're a group of 7 my mom asked the waiter if 2 meals is enough for 7 of us. This had nothing to do with us not wanting to pay for 7 meals but it was only 3 adults and 4 toddlers. We were not interested in purchasing 7 meals. We ended up having a headache and awful experience. Management refused to give us our money back we payed 70 to sit there and get looked at as people from out of space. Beware there are no children here nothing but older white skinned people, which isn't pleasant because we all know older people can not tolerate children. I warn you do not come here with toddlers of any age or race. We called management and they said it was our fault we didn't get enough food and blah blah blah please tell me why I have to order 7 meals 4 meals at 20+$ for 4 toddlers who hardly eat. He basically said I cannot do anything for you the menu explains that you pay 20+ dollars per person. Really why does a child have to pay 20+ $. In my country we welcome tourist and we go out of our way to explain things well. Will not recommend or ever come back Hasta Luego!!!!!!! Just yuck

Always tasty chicken. Can be quite busy at times, so don't be alarmed if there is a line. They are quite good at moving people through. Be sure to stop downstairs after your meal, cool shop with some good food down there. Excellent location, but parking can be difficult at times. Relax and enjoy your meal here - try not to rush as it will loose some of it's charm if you are in a hurry. Enjoy!

A truly unique and fun experience. It's amazing that even though the business is massive, there are very few if any miscommunications along the way of being served. That takes a lot of experience and managers doing their part.

Just the best chicken dinner anywhere on the planet. We prefer over Bavarian Inn, especially for the noodles, gravy and other extras!

Have been coming here for years since I was little this will always be a family tradition before Christmas. Best chicken I have ever had the gravy is so delicious my kids can t get enough of there Mac and cheese and this year they had some new kinda buns they where amazing I hope they stick with them my daughter ate two and they are huge . Thanks for always giving great friendly service merry Christmas to you and all your family s .

Food outstanding, dessert tasty and service was great. Recommend you must try it however don't go on Sunday in the summer unless you want to wait 1 hr plus to eat. It is worth the wait if you don't have children with you

A classic Frankenmuth staple, Zehnder's is a great place to check out if you're in the area. The food is top-notch, plus you'll get plenty of leftovers to come back to.

Great Service Good Food Such A Pretty Place To Eat At Love Their Brunch On Sunday s!!

EASTER BUFFET (dinner downstairs) I normally would never leave a one star rating. But, after my family and I ate at the buffet yesterday, we all felt sick. We even had to leave from being able to enjoy walking around town because my son had to keep using the bathroom. We had not ate anything else of the same thing all day prior. I had a muffin, kids had cereal so we know it was from the buffet. We stopped at the gas station to use the rest room on the way out of town and I looked at their small medicine area to see if they had Pepto or something and they said that they sold out of all their stomach and gas meds that day. That numerous people stopped in and purchased them throughout the day so we must not have been the only ones. It was not a severe illness. I would of even chalked it up to over indulgence but myself and my daughter's boyfriend who is in training for sports ate very little, not even a full plate nor one whole dessert. We shared one. We all recuperated by the end of the day after several fights over the bathrooms but we spent over $175 on Easter dinner just to suffer all night. I called last night and I was only informed that they had no other complaints from any other patrons so was I disregarded. Will not be going back there again which is sad because it has always been one of my whole family's reunion spot twice a year since I was a kid.

Oh my goodness the food and service was spectacular! Such a great environment. Their fried chicken is spectacular! Way better than Bavarian inn. Great location and huge parking spot. I would recommend making reservations though.

Terrible quality food and taste. The mashed potatoes tasts like they are out of a box from Gordon Food Service. The menu is over priced and you can get the same food from Crackle barrel. It is essentially a overpriced country style cookin.

The waiters never smiled besides the "fake it until you make it" when serving your table. I have a strong feeling the food is just made in the morning, set under heat lamps, and waiting until you are served. Very over priced for the food you get.

Generally good German food and hospitality (my Mom's is still better though) Many dining and shopping options. Some things are a little pricy, but not out of line with other tourist places.

Its been 30 years since I ate hear and was really dissapointed. The chicken was extremely salty, the stuffing had no taste and was mush, and the butter noodles had no taste at all. It wasnt worth $60. Could have ate at KFC for $25 or less. The best thing was the mash potatoes, slaw, and green beans. If you want real chicken its in Carolina!

Family-style chicken dinner is the main draw on the menu. Local beers are passable and most wines are very sweet. Sort of like Disneyworld, your first visit will be the best memory. Still coming back after 30+ years.

I come here once a year or more for the chicken dinner. Love the noodles the most. Good fun, and good service.

Nice place. A little pricey especially with kids who don't eat much but the food was delicious. Our server was a bit slow to get to us but he made up for it and we had an overall great time.

I have been going here since I was a kid. I love the family style dinners. It's nice they have so many options. The staff are always friendly and the service is very quick. It's a great family tradition to come to Frankenmuth and Zehnder's is always a part of it. My parents use the rewards program and also go on their birthdays and eat free.

Accepting reservations for seating to help avoid lines for dining. Tables might be six feet apart, but with people seated it can be closer to 3-4 feet between customers. Service is excellent and friendly and all were wearing masks properly. Food is average. None of our meals were amazing for the higher than average cost. It was good and nothing was wrong with anything, but it lacked that step above that made a place worth repeating for $30+ a plate. Portions were generous and no one will leave hungry.

Baked goods phenomenal.. Dinner at the Z Cafe was wonderful. Hadn't been there in almost 20 years.. Can't wait to go back.

A true destination restaurant not to be missed - our November trip always kicks off our holiday season. We love the food and always get the family style chicken dinner. Lots of varied experiences throughout the restaurant depending on where you are seated. The shops and bakery downstairs have lots of unique items that we stock up on for Thanksgiving and Christmas entertaining. Always decorated very nicely for the season.
