We stayed here to celebrate our honeymoon! The hotel sits in an amazing location with stunning views. The staff was extraordinarily helpful and polite taking care of handling your luggage and going out of their way to please their guests. If you are looking for things to do just ask any of the friendly staff members and you will get a list of things to keep you busy for the entire day. Food was always prepared fresh and drinks served around the clock. In summary we would highly recommend this hotel being that the staff went above and beyond to.exceed our expectations. We will be reserving this property the next trip we take to Greece.

Unfortunately I can't give zero stars. Apart from the humidity in the room, the stay was pleasant. But they charged my credit card with the amount two times. Could happen and I wouldn't complaint about it, if they returned the amount properly. But they didn't. It have been a month now and I had to contact my credit card company. E-Mails, phone calls, nothing worked so far ... I am more than disappointed and therefore I would not recommend the hotel.

A fantastic hotel with an outstanding staff. From the moment we arrived and were treated to a glass of wine and some water while we checked in, until the time we left, I felt like the hotel left no stone unturned in making this feel like a truly exceptional experience!

Great Hotel and location. Not good location if you have walking difficulties as its at the top of a hill through narriw streets. We loved it rhough.
We ended up here after a mix up with the villa we were supposed to be in.
Staff met us with a very welcome ice cold drink and then explained a few things.
Breafasts on a terrace were fantastic with great views. Waiters couldn't do enough for us.
Pool area, though small, was very nice and again with great views.
Quite a few local restaurants nearby, all with lovely food and some great views.
I would definitely come back and would say Pyrgos would be my preferred village in Santorini

Great Service. We were staying here for 10 days. The restaurant at dinner is very quiet and has good food. The rooms themselves are in a very beautiful church too. If you're looking for a place to stay for a short or long amount of time, you should stay here.

One of the most beautiful hotels I've ever seen - restored original dwellings collected to form a village of suites, most of which seem to have their own private terraces and jacuzzis, are criss-crossed with lanes for the luggage carrying donkey and sun heat wearing guests to preamble to a light lunch, dinner on the fantastic terrace (with the best sunset view) or to get to the beach!

The main building is a spectacular piece of restored period architecture and the pool is beautiful. The spa building is a restored ruin with another beautiful terrace and sports the wine tastings and massages! All of it full of character.

The staff were delightful and welcomed us as warmly as they would relatives into their home. They served us the most amazing breakfasts and weekend got drinks and fruit on arrival to welcome us!

The room was large and spanned multiple levels. We had a private terrace with a jacuzzi which wasn't overlooked at all. We couldn't have been better cared for. Idyllic.

Normally for 0 star it is because really as a hotel it is not worth being 5 star. From moisture, from a layer unacceptable, in the rust everything, the receptionist unacceptable. The photos on Google have nothing to do with reality. I'm sorry because I also went for my honeymoon ....

Ok so there sre a re a couple of things you need to know about Greece before I start this, their hotel star system is not the same as the rest of Europe and their plumbing is different (you can't flush the toilet paper it needs to be put into a bin beside the toilet) .

Now to the review, OMG I loved this place the people the atmosphere the accommodation everything. It starts as the cab driver drops you off there are no roads to the old part of the village its from an era pre-car :) So the taxi driver phones ahead and you are met by a donkey called Marcos and his guardian, Marcos is loaded with your luggage and takes it up the hill to the hotel all on his own he know the way and is keen to get their (he has a lovely nature).

The staff will meet you and check you in with a glass of the native desert wine (it is really moreish lol). The main house is stunning both in appearance and location. We were given a junior suit so it had a sofa bed in it in addition to the main bed. The room itself has been calved out of the bedrock it is lined plastered and painted but is certainly a unique experience. It is clean and the bathroom has a shower/ bath and ample hot water there is a mini bar and hot plate in this room. the normal rooms situated around the pool have hot tubs outside them and offer a stunning view across the island. There are towels provided for the pool area which is situated just down from the breakfast area.

The breakfast is served between 8 and 12 so no need to rush and the guys on breakfast duty are fun and full of life so definitely give you a feeling of being looked after in a very Greek family kind of way.

We loved the place and would recommend it to anyone, if you love Greece you will love this hotel , the people and Marcos :D) (don't forget an apple for him though he loves them)

Ashamed, we booked 2 rooms for 4 and only had one family room for 4 without compensation. No hot water during the 3 days, non-professional staff for maintenance as for breakfast. The director did not want to give us an invoice at the end of the stay. What a mess in a very beautiful building with huge potential.

We liked our jr. suite, " Constas". It was actually 5 small rooms: a sitting room, kitchen, bedroom, a dressing room, a bathroom. The manager, Arris, was very attentive. We would stay here again. It is close to good restaurants, and near the city center.

terrible experience

terrible experience
we were told to upgraded to the most expensive room (for 4 persons, 2 bedroom and bathtubs) in the second day we stayed, because the hotel double-booked. When we arrived the big and expensive room and found immediately we didn't like, we asked to change back to the one
we stayed earlier, but the manger rejected, because she already gave to other quests. Also all rooms were occupied so it's no way to move to another room. After all we found out the bathroom in first floor was humid and smell awefull, because the water keep coming out from floor. I called front desk but got answer ''what do you want ? do you need more towels" . I was so..........disappointed at a 5-star hotel! The manager didn't show respect to us" . Be honest, the view and breakfast were great. Beware of upgrades if they try to upgrade you, say no. I wish I had.

Let's just make this clear, Zannos Melathron was first a mansion built in the 18th century. The rooms - as intricately designed as they are - have a historical aspect to them. The hotel is very unique, and if you're not up for a little change from the mundane - this is exactly where you need to stay.

Upon arrival at the town square (due to the hotels location) you will be welcomed by the hotel bell boy and an adorable donkey named Marcos - they will guide you up the stairs and to the reception. Yes, it is very different, but it gives you a taste of Greek history, which, to me, was very memorable.

We stayed in the Master Suite containing two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The second bathroom only contained a toilet and a sink, and the shower was in the bedroom...it was an open shower. So, in order to avoid making a mess, we all showered in one bathroom. Don't get me wrong, the suite was HUGE and there was plenty of space to fit at least 6 people, and that's saying something! Again, the hotel has a historical vibe, so the rooms are a bit dark at night, but that's nothing to worry about, you'll get used to it. The room was clean despite a few insects here and there that probably crawled from the open door or window; again it's really nothing to worry about. The Suite was spacious and well-furnished.

The amenities are limited - the hotel provides you with an adequately-sized pool with a range of sun beds and umbrellas & a spa consisting of treatments and massages are also available; however, I haven't experimented with the spa during my stay. The pool may look a bit small in some pictures, but it is good enough to dip and swim into for a few hours.

We thank Zannos Melathron so much for making our stay so wonderful and we hope to come back soon! Keep the history aside, the hotel is very comfortable - and I'd recommend it to anyone hoping for a memorable stay in Santorini!

Safe travels!
