Good and fresh ingredients. Chicago style pizza is very tasty and gets you fool really quick.

Movie atmosphere.
Like one of those pizzerias in an 80s flick.
The ambient is awesome (local crew, happy customers, neighbors' art hanging on the wall, etc). The pizzas are incredibly forgettable.

Every Berkeley student will have at one point eaten Zacahary's pizza and there's a reason there is always a long wait. Food is fantastic and they'll take your order first while you wait since the pizzas do take a while to make. I love the fan art hanging on the walls at this location.

This place is a must stop when in the Oakland/Berkeley area. The deep dish Chicago style pizza is my favorite. I would say it's one of the best if not the best deep dish pizza I've tasted. Better than the pizzerias I've tasted in Chicago. The "Carne" is great although a little salty with all the meats the the Chicken Special is awesome with the garlic and fresh basil.

Great service! Got right in on the bartop, no wait! Iconic and delicious. The medium even leaves you with leftovers!

My boyfriend and I are from Chicago and have heard about Zachary s for the last two years. We finally made our way there tonight and were extremely pleased. Somewhere between the ordering and table service, our pizza order was mixed up and we ended up getting a pizza that had topping that I was allergic to. Our waitress was quick to resolve the issue and we received an extra pizza with the correct toppings within 20 minutes. Additionally, the manager was overly generous with discounting our bill and we left with more leftovers than we expected. Great customer service and we will be back!

This is great pizza and you should definitely try it if you're in the area. This place is for DEEP DISH LOVERS. They serve traditional Chicago style pizza and the smell of the pizza is what orginally brought me here.

However, I like thin crust pizza and while they do have a thin crust variant it just isn't as good as the deep dish.

This place is packed with very little waiting/standing room. I will say, for a restaurant with a long wait, they run a fairly efficient operation. You check in and they give you an estimate for when your table it ready, and you can order drinks and hang out in a coffee shop like waiting area while you wait for your table.

The pizza is okay. It's really not that great. Not horrible either. Even though I'm fairly into plain foods, Zachary's deep dish was a little too plain for even me. It was missing something... garlic or more flavorful tomatoes or a tastier crust.

If I was starving and had a Zachary's pizza in front of me, I'd definitely eat it and not complain, but if I want good deep dish in the Bay Area, I'll go to Little Star.

Best deep dish in Oakland... Call in your order if its takeout.

I had my first dining experience at the College Ave location nearly 20 years ago. It still makes one of my absolute favorite deep dish pies. The tomato sauce always has a signature brightness, complemented by farm fresh ingredients. A truly quintessential Bay Area dining experience.

For Chicago style pizza this place can't be beat! The sauce is perfection and in the perfect amount. Toppings are always fresh, the portion sizes are more than enough. You don't need ranch but even that is perfect here and it's sooooo gooood!

I was never a fan of stuffed pizza until I tried Zachary's! The spinach mushroom is addicting, even my major carnivore friends love this pizza!!!!

Kind of surprised that Zachary's Chicago Pizza got a 4.1 average rating because this place rocks. The pizza is phenomenal and you will enjoy the crap out of eating it. The place can be a little cramped, but its fun being cramped and eating with a bunch of loud people. Would definitely recommend to friends looking for a good decently priced pizza place. I would say it is a lot better dining in than getting take out.

Great deep dish and thin crust pizza! Love the chuncky tomatoe sauce. Enjoyed the kale salad.

BEST STUFFED PIZZA EVER
I always order the Chicken-Tomato-Basil stuffed pizza. It is amazing. And filling.

The food tastes great and the calories per dollar ratio is good.

Zachary's is my favorite!!! I love the Zachary's special stuffed and I add pepperoni YUM!!! They've not disappointed me once!! If you order to-go you can get it bad baked and finish baking at home to enjoy the fresh-out-the-oven goodness! So tasty! I've had the Caesar salad it was quite tasty, not overly dressed and the breadsticks that come with it are also really yummy as well. They have a black cherry soda that's pretty tasty. I've had different wines as well! I have no complaints! This place can get PACKED on weekend evenings so be prepared for a wait if that's when you come but it is so worth it!! I wish I could provide details about the other pizzas but I love the special so much I don't get anything else! One day I'll give something else a try I know I won't be disappointed!!

Always solid and filled pizza. Service is good. Not a huge wait on a weekday. I don't recommend the Faction collab beer they have.

Besides the great tasting pizza, I love the local artistic talent being showcase all through the restaurant

Highly recommend this place if you like deep dish style pizza. The thin crust is equally delicious. I believe this establishment is employee owned, which makes me love it even more!

I'm from Chicago and have delved in the world of pizza for many a year. Zachary's is by far the closest thing to real Chicago deep dish pizza. I would say it is on the list with Giordano's and Lou Malnati's as some of the best pizza in the U.S. Service was also great. I ran 15 miles and immediately came here afterward to reward myself. Well worth it. Awesome friendly staff! I will he here again soon! I Recommened they build one in SF area. Love the place.

We've been going to this Zachary's pizza for almost 30 years. We had our usual deep dish spinach and mushroom and it was delicious. Still going strong.

Very mediocre! I ordered 2 medium deep dish pizzas for my party of 5 and it was more than enough. Hawaiian and chicken BBQ. We all agreed it was ok but wasn t worth the price we paid. It surely has lots of tomato taste but everything else was kind of lost.
I don t think I will be back anytime soon

Make sure to come prepared for a wait. Usually these guys get really packed around 6-7 and they stay that way till closing. You gotta love their deep dish pizzas, it's why you probably went there in the first place. Don't settle for their thin crust!

The Pizza was okay. The pizza had way too many tomatoes. It should of had more meat, less tomato chucks. However, the customer service was good.

If you like Chicago style pizza don't miss Zachary's. This place is staple in the east bay. The sauce is amazing! Don't worry if you have some left over pizza because it is even better the next day. The staff is great and the food never disappoints.

THERE IS NOTHING BETTER THAN ZACHARY'S CHICAGO PIZZA. HANDS DOWN DELICIOUS. My words coukd never do their pizza justice. I love their carnivore deep dish and their pepperoni and their BBQ and... and... and... just EVERYTHING on their deep dish menu!!! Even their vegan deep dish (with your choice of rabbit toppings) is AMAZING!!! I'm a sauce person and their sauce, with all of its chunky ripe tomatoes, is perfect. Their toppings all feel to be of the highest quality. Their pizza pie crust is flaky and delicious, much like a real pie crust. I have been to Zachary's of every year on my birthday for the past 5 years because it has become just my favorite favorite treat. Your pizza-loving tastebuds deserve Zachary's. Do them a favor and go to Zachary's today!
