I attended the Women's Trade Journey program and dropped out after a month. The program has an amazing instructor Albert, but financially I feel like the program doesn't care about single living people. They don't give enough money for a liveable wage and the school is full time. They only give more money out to people with kids. The first two weeks was things I've already learned in high school and I felt that was a waste of my time. ie)Basic math, how to make a resume/portfolio, ect. But I guess that's what you expect from a program designed for people that didn't graduate high school. Some things that we were watching I felt like was a waste of time and just not productive at all. After a couple more weeks into the program I finally got hands on experience building log sheds. Group work is hard when no one is following instructions and measurements can be inaccurate and wrong. I feel like this program is way too lax as people come and go as they please and there's no punishment for it at all. It's very distracting and I feel like it's disrespectful to the instructor. I appreciate the idea of appealing to women in the trade industry because the lack of gender. The government is pretty desperate to add people into the trade work force as literally anyone can get accepted into the program including immigrants with "passable" English skills. The interview set ups start about 35 people in a board room and 3 people including myself showed up... A great thing about this program is that everything is free, your tools, PPE, ect. Even get a free 6 month pass in the gym. The gym instructors are amazing by the way very accommodating and just fun to be around. I'd recommend this program to anyone that wants to try something new but expect to pick up a part time job if you're single, or if this is something you really want to try. They teach Carpentry, Electrician, and Pluming. Your job placements will be within the last two weeks of your course. Hope this review helped anyone wanting to give this a try.

This is a good facility, with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The wide range of affordable services is impressive. The gym, which, aside from the usual offerings, makes a point of providing opportunities for seniors, people with physical challenges, and gender-specific swim programs. The cafe is small but is a wonderful place for people to congregate. If that s not enough, this YWCA offers a day care, an employment and learning centre, and special programs for young women and girls. I highly recommend it.

I go for the weight room, so I can't say anything about the pool or fitness classes.

They have a lot of free weights and machines, plus two squat racks and maybe a dozen cardio machines. They also have a space set aside for TRX, which I find is a real challenge.

The patrons are friendly and focused on their workout. I'm happy with this gym.

So many things you can do. Basketball, swimming pool, squash, racquetball, karate, day care. Great place to support. Only downside is parking costs money unless you get there after 6pm and you get 1 of the 20 free City of Saskatoon spots.

Offers a variety of programming for families and their children, provides shelter to homeless women and children, a recreational gym facility and close to all of downtowns amenities. It's a fabulous place that helps people in the most incredible ways.

Great fitness facility with all you need to maintain your health and have some fun. Staff are wonderful and always willing to help. Change rooms are clean and maintained. Prices are on par with most local fitness facilities.

The facilities arent as updated as other gyms around town - but they have the basic amenities that work for most. They have free wifi but it doesn't allow streaming so you can't watch a tv show / stream music.

Have been going to this gym now for 4 months and would highly recommend. The staff are friendly and the equipment provided is great. The facility has always been maintained cleanly in my eyes. Personally have never used the pool but it appears to be popular. 2 week trial with no credit card down was great.

I just like going to a gym that doesnt do hard sell-jobs.

I pulled my son out of this daycarw bc he said a staff member had hit him. He even went so far as to point out who had hit n how she hit him in front of everyone at the ywca front desk with witnesses. Her response was "I didn't hit u sweetie it was prolly the other staff member" wow nice response. Now my son has issues with daycare authority figures and he does not want to go to pre k without me being present. Totally traumatized my son.

Great gym, probably the best one I've been to in Saskatoon, there's lots of different options for free weight and benches as well as weight machines, there's lots of treadmills and stationary bikes available and you can even book them.
The pool is okay, but the "hot tub" isn't really a true hot tub since it's not seperated from the pool it is kind of like warm.

Fitness on 25th within the YWCA is a friendly little fitness club that offers great classes with experienced instructors and you have access to a swimming pool as well. Great experience. Great value.
