First time there since the renovations were completed. A vast improvement from before. New bars and restaurants have improved the place. Shopping looks interesting with some very niche products available. Access to the new library and the Square Chapel theatre make the Piece Hall more attractive for visitors. Well worth the time to take a look at what's been done.
Beautiful architecture. Looked stunning over Christmas
Once I stopped by police asking me questions about security purposes
So many little shops full of amazing things to buy like bath bombs and crystals and even a little toy car shop. So many activities to do for all the family.
Lovely place to visit. Nice food and drinks some shops with unusual things in and the all the history surrounding it
Local businesses could really add to piece hall only if rates are reasonable and councils are forward thinking
This place nd trading rooms are just a master piece post redevelopment it's a must visit !
The de tour de France was amazing and piece hall was so pretty.
Really surprised how impressive the Piece Hall is. We had a free 1 hour guided tour which gave some facts and background about the history.
Very picturesque, worth a visit if only for the architecture of the hall. It is so much more. Have a coffee or something to eat, mooch round the shops.
Nice revamp glad they kept it simple and not changed to much water feature a nice touch but not for ppl with bladder problems lol
Great selection of independent traders, which would make great gifts.
Beautiful building needs more comfortable seating and more variety of shops needed
What a beautiful experience its mind blowing and so glad its retained its old features
deathly boring. most of the shops are cookie cutter gift stores that sell scented soaps and unwanted knicknacks. the few shops that don't follow this business model are incredibly pricey. there are about 3 cake and desert stores and nowhere that sells substantial food.
it might amuse you for half an hour, but certainly not worth any more time than that.
Awesome spot, one of the most amazing buildings of its period in the country, lots of interesting little businesses
Nice place to visit good shops and always something to do
Hadn't visited since it had been fancied up, it is a stunning space. Full of interesting shops, but even if you're not after shopping just go and enjoy the building.
Very impressed need to fill a few more shops but looks amazing
I visited at Christmas latish at night so not much was open but I would seriously go check out the bath bonb shop in there it's amazing
This historic building and it's grounds have been completely renovated and has managed to keep the old feel of the market place and it's shops. It has also added a modern architecture which blends in with the old. If you just want to browse the shops, have a coffee or enjoy a drink in the Gin Bar this is a great place.
This place is amazing. Don't miss it. Loads of small art type shops and a fad hygge to chill in
A great day out, fabulous evening, nice bar's to and little bistro's and they have entertainment at regular intervals suitable for all the family, some querky shops too
Beautiful building, nice place to just sit and watch the world go by
A lovely place, with shops around the square. They have events in the Piece Hall throughout the year. Outside of the Piece Hall is worth a visit too.
It's an iconic part of Halifax town centre though at the same time incongruous for an old mill town until you look into the history of structure. We'll worth a visit. Great food and drink.
The transformation has been astounding. You could be in any continental city
The old ruin has been updated in a wonderful style, well worthy of its original status. Much nicer to walk around with nice paving and flowing water features to complete the three story parade. Lots of great shops and some cafes. It's the second time I have visited in the last 6 weeks. One of my favourite shops sells old style sweeties, while one of the department stores from Halifax Harvey's, has a great shop on one corner of the first floor. Last week they there was a lantern making session for Christmas tree decoration, and the police were present in the form of their brass band. One of the people responsible for co-ordinating most of the work on the site left just prior to the opening. Well done Graham. Pity your work was not recognised by the incoming co-ordinating.
Wonderful at night..Gin Bar was great.. soooooo many gins!
This is a really cool place to have a drink and relax. Have always enjoyed my visits.
It's a beautiful place but we were blessed with the dreadful weather
Great place entrance gates are beautiful lots of places to eat and drink ,loved it
Beautiful, elegant piazza with a fabulous array of eateries and shops. Felt a bit like being in Italy!
Love it here great shops all unique and different love my new lamp shade from the rug and table shop. Great bars and cafe's can easily spend a couple of hours here.
We thought we were in Italy/France/Spain, what a setting but we were in Halifax great city friendly as usual in the North.
Really nice historical building would be better if more of the units were occupied but am sure its worth seeing especially if an event is taking place.
I like the new piece hall some good events the reason for my rating is the fact that although it is an open air building you are not allowed to smoke but if you're a gin bar customer a smoking area is provided for their customers part of their licence agreement with the piece hall so the piece hall told me when I asked the question that seems like double standards to me
Excellent place to visit. We went to Gin Lane. Had a good passion fruit gin recommended by a knowledgeable bar man.
Nice, clean, lots of interesting niche shops, seasonal pop up attractions, and food places that are cafe culture, or speciality. Tourist information will tell you what events are scheduled, and the place opens into the library.
Great now it's been done up, it will be even better when more shops open.
Very impressive place. Bought great presents from the soap shop
Lovely place. Shops can be pricey but a nice visit out
Great addition to Halifax after being closed down for years
Ive visited the piece hall many times.its so much better since the refurbishement
Great find, lovely little shops and eateries. Everyone was very friendly
Great place.. shame about the butterflies that had been marked onto the beautiful York stone in the main square. Talking to the maintenance guy. In his words " it ain't coming off" you see he was toiling with a pressure washer. Beautiful place, historical well restored n great little shops and tea Room's. Well done national lottery fund, but don't paint anything on the stonework
Beautifully maintained building. Lots to see inside. Great position to check out Halifax. Good car parking at the Eureka car park.
It is the best place for family/friends enjoyment in Halifax. Lot of events keep on happening here. Specially , kids enjoy a lot here.
Large dead Box tree on display centre of public area.
Nice place to shop for quaint gifts, not everyone's taste but nice quality items.
What a find, has been brought back to use without what appears really nor changes
Decent selection of vendors. Beautiful space to sit. Well worth a mooch.
It's been beautifully renovated with lots of quirky little shops and nice bars xx
Beautiful place . Just been to an event and apart from the long queues at the bag check it was very well run .
Nice Caribbean food. Shame they couldn't sell water at their stall.
Went to the Chow Down. Weather meant it was a bit wet but it was fun & food was superb.
The best place ever! So much to do and lovely eateries. Piece Hall has it all, steeped in history and very interesting
Great place stacks of little shops and a market plus a great gin shop and bar
Gorgeous. All it's missing now is some grass and a few cobbles. Five stars.
Such a friendly place to visit, some wonderful shops
