Recently had a major overhaul... Now provides a great venue for public events.
Really nice festive event on around Christmas time, bars, craft shops and stalls, roasted chestnuts, a brass band and a choir!
Well worth a visit...

Recently restored to a very high standard, this is a beautiful monument to the West Yorkshire textile trade, now populated with distinctive and interesting shops. Yorkshire Soaps is a standout.

The Piece Hall gallery is currently June 2018 exhibiting Pamina Stewart's art work. The Creatures that she has made are entirely made out of sea shells. They are incredible and expertly done. Very reminiscent of The Shape of Water creature but she has created horses, cows unicorns and mythical creatures and they're up for sale ! A treat to see and gallery is free admission.

Fantastic restored trading halls with cleverly refurbished square with great water features and specially commissioned sculptures. The piece hall building contains lots of individual shops in the old trading rooms you can have a coffee, a meal or browse the artisan craft shops.

Great place. A real asset to Halifax... I've been to many great events here... Get on the mailing list. Cherish it and look after it Halifax... To think that it only narrowly avoided being a car park!...

A great trip out on a day when a food festival was taking place. Bustling and sociable central area and some interesting and quirky shops on upper levels. Beautifully restored grade I listed building. Try the cartoon shop on the top level if you fancy a laugh or see a bit of whimsy.

Wow, what a great place. I went recently to see the Father John Misty gig. The place is ideal for gigs, all those cafes etc to sell food and drink are already there, plus plenty of space for stalls.
The architecture is amazing, simply stunning and the event was well organised. I will be going back soon when there isn't a gig to explore much more.

A remarkable and unique building with interesting small shops, food and refreshment venues. Inexpensive parking close by and a few minutes walk from the station. Town centre also very close.

A surprisingly large, impressive Georgian building and courtyard in lower Halifax near the Minster and railway station. Designed with colonnades, cloisters and arches it could be in Florence. Lots of small shops selling a variety of interesting products and plenty of space in the 'piazza' for the live concerts. Plus Cafes, restaurants, good toilets and nearby parking make it a really good day out.

I attended the Piece Hall recently to watch Elbow in concert, and I can honestly say there will be more no days like this. My elbows were up in the air throughout, as they played their greatest hits such as One Day Like This, One Day Like This and one of the rarities, One Day Like This.

10/10 would rub a stranger's wenis again.

A great tourist attraction since re opening. Ice cream shop and many others around the corners. Usually filled with food stands. Great to visit on a sunny day, can also be quite busy too during the summer. Had a lovely wood fired pizza from one of the stalls here once.

Looks quite good with refurbishment. Only only little Sorry, in bad light or for it might be a struggle to find the steps which are every where and are of different heights. If the steps were highlighted with a stone of different colour, would have been much better.
Not a variety of shops but the adjacent new library building is a great advantage.

Been visiting the Piece Hall for nearly 50 years, such a shame the new seating has been made of grey concrete, really has spoilt it would have looked far more in keeping to have used Yorkshire stone or a material the same colour as the Piece Hall or even wood. I can see that it's a great place for events to be held it's just the colour is so unattractive being grey we all agreed it was a shame to look so not in keeping with the Piece Hall.
There are places on one side along the edge on the ground level that looks very dangerous, very easy to walk off the step & injure yourself.
Good to have a lift now & the tourist information was very helpful.
The large restaurant was 5 with gorgeous fresh bread served that is made at the Piece Hall, made a great Irish coffee for Mum!
There's a few nice shops to browse round bit pricey though, could really do with more handmade crafts shops, there's not a shortage of small businesses so maybe the rent is too high as so many of the units are still empty which is such a shame, nice couple of hours there though just thought we'd be there longer browsing in & out of all the shops instead of walking round to find ones open.

Love the Piece Hall - lots of lovely small shops with interesting things to buy, new shops still to open and looking forward to them coming to Halifax. Some nice eateries with more due to open soon. Love the open space and the water features. The sweet shop is a total hit with the kids. Love the connection through to the Square Chapel.

Great place to visit while in Halifax. You can't go to Halifax and not go to Piece Hall. I spent an hour in there recently to pass the time before heading for my train.. I sat by the water features, who doesn't like the sound of of running water... Also there is an interesting sculpture called the "blanket" which I didn't quite get at first, but the more I looked at it and from different angles too from around Peice Hall, the more I liked that sculpture.. Funny hey..
