This is the best place ive been to i go to it about 50 times a year i hope tgis year i go there more that way you get more money
They have teenagers running the front desk with no real receptionist expertise. Went there yesterday afternoon (Thursday) and was told to come in to meet with an employment advisor in the morning as they were busy. I went there today (in the morning as advised) and was then told that they do not schedule meetings with advisors on Fridays. Thanks again for wasting my time.
nice people, offers great service for individuals in need of printing
The space itself is nice and has some helpful job seeking features. True to a previous reviewer's experience, however, the teenagers/volunteer staff can get very rude and refuse to help. I've actually had multiple experiences last year where a young woman (short dark hair, brown skin) read my profile information out loud while I was trying to get my work done. It was awful, but I ignored her childish behavior. It's risky: if she spoke a female visitor's private details out loud, it might put that patron at risk (stalking, etc.). Screen the volunteers better!
Very friendly and helpful staff. The manager Lorenzo runs a fantastic centre!
They canceled my application without contacting me , had only seen my case manager one time and was only in contact with him two times over email. He was supposed to get me in contact with a social worker and didn t give me the update about when or the persons name to only find out that the YMCA doesn t offer that program anymore. I was the one to contact him because I hadn t heard from him since January of this year and that was it. Like come on people come to you for help don t leave people hanging
Really nice staff and very resourceful. Clean space and clean environment to employment search. Really recommend it for students because they have great paid summer employment programs for them.
The skills counselors are resourceful and very helpful.
I took my newcomer friend there hopping that they will help her finding job and her so called counselor told her "we can't do anything, just go to a labor agency"...so what are they getting paid for exactly?????
One day I called to register for a program and and the receptionist told me that I need to come by my self to register, I asked if I need to take an appointment? She said no just come any time. After taking 2 busses for an hour with my infant son in -16 degrees, the same receptionist told me to send an email to my advisor.... SERIOUSLY! !!! I asked for explanation for her previous advice and she told me "well I didn't know you had an advisor, just send the email"....wow thanks for the waist.
Very bad experience, they just want the grants from Government. They will not help you to get a job in your field. Once they know you are doing even an odd job (which you secured on your own). They will close your file and show in their records that you are employed. Very unprofessional and not caring about people but just caring about their pay cheques.
Not recommended at all!
As their name implies, they provide employment services such as helping you with resume writing, job search strategies, interview preparation, integrating into the local Canadian lifestyle and working culture, communication skills, networking opportunities. They are helpful people. You can use their computers for Internet job hunting, and print/photocopy 15 pages a day
Staff is helpful but overall there is nothing for those people who really need help.
Realley appreciate the work they are doing. Great for teaching people employment skills. Making people's's skills usefull for our great country.
