I was an innocent schoolchild and I thought that this was going to be the best field trip ever but it was terrible! It was just an extended science class where they tried to teach us false information. I would rate it 0 stars if I could.

Love love love! There's no place like camp, former camp and counselor now sending my daughter! The person who gave it 0 stars for having to fill out health information is nuts, please don't deter because of that.. you have to provide it for the safety of your own child. Don't miss out on this wonderful experience!!!!

Amazing camp for the up and coming boy or girl who wants to experience life at it's realist. I had the original camp founder give me a tour of the camp and it was life changing. On that note take the time to consider your couriousity of the camp, it is truly an exploration waiting to be explored.

Had a great time at Camp Thunderbird yesterday! The staff was friendly while the view was gorgeous! Trees provided much needed shade on a day like yesterday. Here are a few pics. Can't wait to visit again.

Wonderful setting with so many activities to enjoy. The staff were friendly and caring.

We did an overnight Y-guides longhouse and had a blast. Based on how well that event was run and experiencing how great the staff are I would absolutely like to send my kids to an overnight camp here.

Awesome Staff, great views, clean camp grounds, best of both worlds. You can stay in open air cabins if you're feeling adventurous or cabins with AC. They have just about everything you could ask for in a Camp.

Get your family and go! It's such a great place to be. Having a membership is wise, but not necessary. They have hang gliding, canoeing, campsites, archery, and so much more. It's located within a magnificent natural setting and parking is great!

Happy camper, happy mom. My child loves camp and counts the days when she's not there. What could be better than a place where a child can be free to be a child? Water and land activities, kind and caring staff, and up to date facilities. I will highly recommend this to any parent wanting a safe and fun place for their children.

Great spot on the lake with beautiful views. Had a father son camp weekend with F3Dads. It was fun with the crew but they didn't have enough staff to do all the activities. Would have liked to swim in the pool and in the lake.

It was pretty fun, I went for a school trip with my whole grade, We got to do fun things like a zip line and we got to do fun activities with our fellow classmates! Though there were a few bugs in our cabin and the showers were dirty but my other friends cabin was fine. Though it wasn't all fun and games because many people threw up after eating uncooked/bad food.

From the moment you enter Camp Thunderbird you can sense what an amazing place this is and how much fun your children will have attending camp here. If I was young enough I know I would want to go! They have all kinds of water sports from canoeing, tubing, the banana boat which was one of my son's favorites and more. A myriad of land activities, good food, campfire activities such as skits, the talent show, a field party etc. The one complaint I have is that the older boys cabins are VERY outdated and need rebuilding. They are open air cabins, which means no air conditioning and also no restrooms in them either. I can see how this may deter the 13-16 year old boys (sometimes 12 y/o's) thinking of going here. As much money as campers pay to attend camp here I feel they owe it to the kids to do this improvement and that it would be a win-win as it would potentially increase the number of campers and subsequently their profits. Otherwise this is an excellent camp full of learning opportunities, fun, and amazing childhood memories.

I love CTB! It s honestly like a second home to me. The counselors are welcoming, and the activities are great. I made lifelong friends, and I always seem to cry when I have to leave. Camp is my Utopia and whenever I m there I just feel as though I m always happy.

It's a nice camp for kids with all facilities. Showers, toilets and cabins were clean. Very nice learning experience for kids! The kids activities were well planned and the camp workers really knew the job well.

Chaperoned my daughters field trip. From the website I thought it looked fun. It was not worth the money or the time. The cabin 27 was gross, there were roaches and other bugs all over the room. The bathroom stalls were old wooden doors that wouldn t shut properly, so you had to have someone hold the door. Also, as an adult female of 5 6 sitting on the toilet my head literally was against the bathroom door, there was no space to move. The showers were not draining properly. Before every meal the camp counselors spent 10 minutes explaining food portions how you can only have one scoop of food. Then they weighed our food waste after every meal and shamed us for the amount of food wasted. They had rock climbing and paddle boats and other activities but the kids couldn t do an of those things, They had educational classes for the children and chaperones sat there for an hour and a half during each class, which in my opinion is much too long for a ten year olds attention span, but chaperones had to sit there and do nothing for each class. On our second day chaperones sat a total of 6 hours with absolutely nothing to do. It was so boring. I was completely disappointed with my experience and it was not worth the money.

This might not be relevant now as it s been nearly 20 years since I attended and The staff has changed but it s worth mentioning nonetheless simply because I still remember the experience. I was 11 years old and it was the summer of 1998. My parents sent me here for a week despite my pleading with them not to do so. They told me I would make new friends and have the best time of my life. I definitely remember making one friend and we were pen pals for a while but I can t remember his name. The counselors that ran my group were really nice and treated us well. However, on the very first day, I was walking along with the group touring the place when all off a sudden I turned around and everyone was gone. I wandered around the Camp for almost 2 hours looking either for my group or someone to notice that a child was walking all by himself without any adult supervision and perhaps somebody should do something about it. Never happened. And I walked by a lot of people. I finally found my group and nobody even acknowledged that I was missing. My nerves were so racked that i never once used the bathroom over the course of 5 days. I really wouldn t blame that on anybody but my parents because they forced me to do this. But the worst offense of all? On the last day every kid in the camp along with the counselors prepared to say goodbye to one another through the means of an assembly on the final night. At this assembly, they started playing songs for us to sing along to. One of the songs was the Camp theme song, which I had never heard before this point in time. Since I didn t know the song, I couldn t sing along to it. So I tried to look like I knew what I was doing so that I wouldn t feel left out. One of the counselors from another group was standing behind me and saw that I wasn t singing along to his liking and he slaps in the back of the head to try to get me to sing. It scarred me for years. When I finally got home my mother was all excited to hear how my trip went I just told her it was terrible. When I told her about the counselor who had hit me, she and my dad flipped out and did as much as they could to find the name of the person who hit me but Camp Thunderbird did nothing. This was the worst summer of my life. And considering it was only 5 days, 19 years ago, it has obviously left an impression on me. I m not saying that this is the way the experience would be now. Obviously staff has changed as I am now probably older than any of my counselors were at the time. But, if your child tells you that they really don t want to go, you should listen to them. I m still upset we were never able to find the man that hit me. I can only imagine what he may have done to other kids. That s all l I have to say about Camp Thunderbird.

I recently (June 19, 2019) went to tour the facilities at the Camp, and was quite impressed.
The Staff was very courteous, and the kids had so many options to choose from, I wouldn't know where to start.
I've seen Waterparks that had less to offer.
Simply put, it's beautiful.

Our school went to camp Thunderbird this last weekend and I was extremely impressed with the facility. We had a nice newer cabin that was clean and in great shape. The food was delicious and plentiful and the camp leaders were fun, well informed and really engaged with the kids, knowing most of the kids by name. The evening activities were fun and had something for everyone.
