We ordered a 350 crate motor in August. Got it, installed it in September. The motor sounds bad and runs bad. Supposed to be 414 hp. Has less power than the one we took out. Took the car to our mechanic. They used a bore scope. They say there is considerable debris and scarring inside cylinder 2. They didn't need to look any farther. They say the motor is no good. I sent YearOne an email. A few days later Bruce called back. He says that out of Thousands of motors not one single one was bad. They were all the fault of the buyers/mechanics/drivers I guess. Imagine that. He also said that ATK doesn't give refunds. Ever. Funny thing is that YearOne took the order, the payment, and has their name on this motor. And ATK said scarring on the cylinder walls is fine. I'm not too sure about that. And 2 days later and still nothing to send it back. $3700 for a large shiny paperweight. We put the old 350 back in. Runs better. So the moral of this long sad story is buyer beware because you will pay for whatever they send you.
UPDATE: They gave our personal email correspondence to this vendor. We were asking technical questions because the motor ran so bad. They are trying to twist it and so of course this won't be covered by the "warranty".
