Nice restaurant, good food, attentive staff, great cocktails, loved the chilli one! Only criticism would be that the tables are very small, more than 1 dish per person at a time leaves very limited room.

Best dim sum in London! Make sure you try the venison puff and salted fish rice. The bar is nice too and cocktails are delicious - highly recommend this place for parties. Don't forget to try their macaroons!

We booked a place for a restaurant on Friday evening, got the table 40 minutes late, meanwhile we were directed to the bar. The cocktails were nice.

We ordered the vegetarian menu. First came 4 excellent dim sum. Then I will roll extra steam, also excellent. Both the tofu and the Stir Fry that came after were also good, a little spicy for those who felt.
The desserts were very beautiful but slightly disappointing in taste.

Very good service and the design is stunning.
recommended.

Excellent food, wine and atmosphere. They made an error with the main course where they served the main course dishes before the rice and bok choi. We were informed by the manager that we'd have to wait a few minutes. I complained to say that I wasn't happy and I asked for another dish to make it right. They happily agreed and it was all good again. The desserts were okay and the service was okay too. I found our waiter friendly and helpful but a bit 'coarse' or slapdash. I'd return again as the food, atmosphere and the willingness of management to please customers is great. If the staff pick up their waiting tables game in terms of the art of service the next time I return then they'll get a full five star review.

Food was similar to a typical Chinese takeaway standard with familiar menu choices. Perhaps a little uninspiring for the price tag and location. The service was terrible; a disinterested, inattentive and grumpy waitress who refused to be helpful in any way. She forgot to show us the menu (via a QR code), which we only noticed when another waiter showed a newly seated nearby table about 10 minutes after us.

Quite often I like to use the good/constructive/good model of reviewing, but this place was all mediocrity verging on bad. Ambience below in the basement was awful. Seated directly below the speakers, the choice of 'banging' loud EDM was enough to induce migraines before the dim sum arrived. Our table was in a narrow corridor, with one side housing the cutlery and dishware - resulting in multiple waiters walking into the back of my chair while they stooped behind me to take out the needed plates. The lighting far too dim for a restaurant. I've heard of gastro-pubs but were they trying to be a gastro-club??

Did I mention the yawn inducing menu already? With dishes like 'Singapore noodles', why bother going out for Chinese cuisine at all. And I found myself asking why did I book here at all when China town is just a stone's throw away...

Overall, a rather disappointing experience. With no redeeming features, not even cuisine worth going out for, I'd steer clear of this wannabe club/canteen hybrid.

This is not your average dim sum place. But also don't let the posh ambiance mislead you into thinking that you're not getting some of the best dim sum ever. Everything we ordered was delicious. Also you should try the Yarty vinegar drink with club soda, it's very refreshing!

Truly memorable and authentic food with excellent service! Go for the menu! Reserve timely, cause it's packed... and make sure you arrive hungry :-) and save room for desserts as they are to die for!

One of my favourite places to meet girlfriends. It's an easy entry level to fine dining. You don't need to dress up, smart casual is enough. You always made to feel comfortable.
The food is always consistent. It's not cheap, but the comfort, ambience, fine food and excellent drinks are worth it.
I have to mention the great service too. Attentive but not intrusive. Answered questions on allergies very well.
My guests had a few allergies and dislikes but all were catered for.

Food was simply amazing. I would have a dinner here every single day if I was living in Soho. The traditional dishes cooked here looks really great and taste is even better yummy I was recommended to try the famous jasmine tea ribs and lychee rose dessert and hands down this was the best Chinese food I ve ever had.

This is an inconsistent restaurant, especially the music with too much decibel and the name of "Tang Chayuan" is really far away. The amount of meals is very small. However, the style of Western-style desserts is beautiful.

Not exactly the connoisseur of dim sum, I asked the waiter to put together a tasting menu and it was all delicious. I tried the jasmine ribs after hearing so much about them and they really are good. The place has a swanky feel to it but it's still welcoming. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the prices aren't that high, considering the quality of the food, ambiance and service. It's well worth it.

Very bad. We ordered the tasting menu- the
A Taste of Yauatcha- and waited a long time in an almost empty restaurant (after 3 PM).
The food that arrived was looking nice but really not tasty; some of it quite horrible...I could describe all the elements but whats the point...
This place is all about a pretense in decor and in actual food. Nothing is simple and nothing is tasty. Even the green tea wasn't good.
I had great hopes for dessert but left without ordering because of the following reason.
In a almost completely empty place 2 couples that arrived after us were seated on the left and on the right. The tables for 2 are very small and very , very close together so even though the people were not loud or unpleasant we felt crowded. What stupid attitude to pack people tightly in an empty space...it might be convenient for the staff but not for the client...
I would not go to this place again even if hungry and it was free...

Definitely disappointing experience

Definitely disappointing experience
First of all, local itself seems more than a disco than a restaurant. Call me old fashioned but I think that when the music (ultra bass turned on) is louder than what your table mate is saying, something wrong is going on. Otherwise eating is just fuel re-filling .
Secondly, the attention was pretty awful. Untrained waitress not knowing what they were doing, serving or even asking. Such a pity to have low trained personal in a place like this.
Finally, and coming to the food. I think the steamed dim sum was the best part. I found them very nice and tasty (we had wild mushroom and edamame truffled) while the fried one (wagyu) was just ok. The Penang kwetio noodles were good but just noodles, moreover prawns and scallops were pretty scarce in my opinion. For dessert I had the violet cheesecake (although not highly innovative, I found it really nice) .
In conclusion, despite some very nice plates (perhaps the ones I am less used to trying) , the experience was overall bad and I wouldn t recommend it .

When it comes to dim sum, these guys get it right. Not only that, the restaurant has a trendy vibe and fun atmosphere. I am not a fan or pork so I stuck with seafood, vegetarian, and chicken options. My favorite was the truffle dumpling, wow, bursting with flavor. I added another order because they were that good. The fried rice is also very good. For dessert, I opted for the sesame banana cake. It came with banana ice cream and was absolutely divine. The sesame did not over power the dish and the ice cream was made with real bananas and not just flavoring.

Food is alright, but the service is too bad. With reservations beforehand, we can t sit inside unless other customers leave, but there were a lot of spare tables inside actually. The outside table is unstable and it was raining on the day. More

The food was OK but the service was horrible. We've been here before but it's really gone down hill.

We had a reservation at 8pm but didn't get seated until 9. We were a group of 7 but got put in a table of five so it was super tiny.

We ordered the food and it took 40 minutes for it to come at first. 20 minutes later, one of our orders was still not here so I asked about it and they said they never ordered it.

On top of that, the place is not accessible. Most of the tables are downstairs which doesn't have lift access. There wasn't even a toilet upstairs! What will our friend in wheelchair do?

Super slow and chaotic. Don't go there unless you want to test your patience.

The service attitude is average, but the fillings are good enough. Afternoon tea set is recommended for two people only 30 pounds. Available from Monday to Thursday! # LocalGuides # OnGoogleMaps

Editing review as service today was not good. We were assigned a table that was trembling and staff said there was nothing they could do about it. When all our drinks were spilling all over the place. Our food amd drinks server was not eager or polite... honestly thinking service declining and restaurant offering more of a mass service approach.

Delicious meal and friendly, down to earth service. We were late for our reservation after a late Friday night at work and they were very nice about it. We had a cocktail at the bar and got a table shortly afterwards - exactly the kind of consideration you want after a stressful work day. The food was amazing and cocktails had the right amount of alcohol and flavour. Fried duck was super tasty!

A great experience and a new vision on chinese food. Very unusual dishes and different from every other menus from chinese restaurants I've ever been before. I tried several dishes and all had great taste. They also have a very good european desserts choice. Finally prices weren't expensive at all. Strongly recommended

Was slightly disappointed with the service, food and atmosphere. Food is decent, but in my own opinion, not worth the hype. The dimsum is okay, main dishes are better. Servers don't really pay too much attention to you and you are pressured to leave in a certain timeframe

What a deception. The food of our dinner was good, but the service was not the expected.Time between dishes was eternal. At the end all it was a rush and I felt like kicked out as the kitchen and bar close. They have to improve if they want to keep their lead.

Totally overrated. the noodles with mushrooms were really bad, the dim sum ordinary and over priced...service just ok, nothing special, waited a lot of time for the dishes at 15:00, not exactly the peak hour

Fantastic. Go here with your friends or family. Whatever the occasion. Select the Tou Chan menu and you'll be highly satisfied. If you've got more money to spare then go for the A La Carte menu. Additionally, there's a wide selection for vegetarians and vegans, including a set menu

My fav dim sum place. Love the food and atmosphere. Highly recommend duck roll, venison puff and the sea bass. (Ofc the moon cake too!)
Nevertheless I gave four stars for an improvement: most dim sum plates came in three pieces ONLY. It s irritating when you don t have exactly three people on the table, but seems to be such a simple point to fix by the management team.

Been quite awhile since I've been here, but it's similar to Hakkasan. Very good dim sum, though not necessarily traditional dim sum as most Chinese know it. There's been a bit of a spin on some of the dishes. It is VERY expensive compared to normal dim sum restaurant prices. There are other places in London that do almost as good dim sum for much less. The main problem I have with the restaurant is that they're trying to make it painfully fashionable in its decor and it can come off a bit pretentious. But I guess that happens with a lot of high end restaurants. I can see the need for a restaurant like this in NYC where the average dim sum is generally not very good, but in London there are already a few dim sum places that charge reasonable prices for quality not far off from Yauatcha. Noise levels are loud, but I guess that's authentic for a Chinese restaurant. 8)
