This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the city! I only give 4 stars because I am not sure if they switched cooks but the shrimp fried rice did not taste as good how it normally does.

The food is pretty good here. I tried 4 different dishes and each were very lightly salted. If you order the Peking duck then they'll have a chef slice it right in front of you! They also serve the duck with tradition tortilla.. so yummy! Worse part is that this place is pretty expensive, but that's expected since it's Yao Ming's family restaurant.

One of the best Asian restaurants in Houston. Large selection of items made with quality ingredients. Had the pepper steak, cashew chicken, egg drop, soup, wonton soup & chicken lettuce wraps. All very good. Service was also excellent. Definitely recommend.

We went in with a large group of about 30 people and the service was excellent, the food was amazingly delicious, and at no time did I regret coming to the restaurant. It was a great experience, and I would happily return.

Have been going to this place for years, ever since they opened. Service is no longer the same. The young lady in the front who claims to be the manager needs alot of people skills. They are now charging 2 dollars for hot sauce. Business must be slow. I would recommend find another chinese place to eat.

Best Chinese food in Houston. It is awesome and cool. My favorites on the menu are the Peking Duck and the General Tso's Chicken. It is certainly one of the few Chinese restaurants in Houston where you actually can get Peking Duck. My other favorite thing about this restaurant is the fine tea selection. You can get a pot of really nice tea to go with your meal. They bring it to your table and it heats over a burning candle and they even provide sugar crystals for you. Cocktails there are pretty good too and they have Tsingtao beer. On the dessert menu, the Fried Mantou (Chinese beignets/doughnuts) are really delicious served with condensed milk and powdered sugar. The service is really friendly and knowledgeable and the decorations of the main dining room give it a real authentic feel. Atmosphere in the bar does a great job paying tribute to Houston's basketball history and to Yao Ming himself. Restrooms are really fancy. I definitely would call this place a Houston gem because it is authentic and fancy and it is made 20% cooler by the fact that it is owned by the Yao Ming.

Yum!

Very disappointing visit. I had heard that Yao Ming does not own this restaurant and they say his family doesn't come in anymore. In my opinion this place has gone down. Our waiter made two mistakes with our order and our food arrived luke warm. We asked for stir fried vegetables and they brought us steamed veggies without any seasoning whatsoever. That was my last visit here.

Been here many times since their opening years ago and ya know, you get more bang for your buck than any other Chinese restaurant. It's not the cheapest, but you get the highest quality ingredients for a reasonable price. No filler vegetables like bell peppers, onions or (cringe) chopped celery. I love their chicken dishes, their prawns (big) and their eggplant dishes. Good ambiance too.

Food was awesome as always. Service was great too! It was just my roudy daughter and I. They sat us away from others so we wouldn't disrupt other's meals. Were completely accommodating and quick for us.Will continue to come back.

Are ready to pay $25/pot tea? They somehow will sneak some outrageous charges into your bill. Are you going to argue with them in front of your guests?

Do you want to eat at a sneaky restaurant that you need to watch out for charges?
We had 10 people and waiter asked us if we needed tea without telling us it would cost me $20 (could have been $25 if we didn't tell them 4 wanted water). You wouldn't know until you pay the bill. Are you going to discuss with them in front of your friends? That is clever way to rip customers off!
To me, deceiving practices can wipe out all the positive things about a dinner so I gave it a one star.
