Used Xiamen Airlines to travel to Korea and Japan. Transit thru China within 24 hours using the non visa privilege (TWOV). Nice airport, small but easy to navigate as signage is in Chinese & English. Was able to spend time at the First Class International lounge in International terminal.

Everytime I went back to Xiamen, the first stop is always at the airport. It is a rather clean and open airport that is designed with aesthetic, compared to airports in other part of China that looks like being hustledly designed. The natural light is ample in the airport, and travellers could move smoothly in the airport without having to wonder where to go and why am I circumventing around walking unnecessary distances. It is a great airport overall, though restricted to its size as the city of Xiamen is not a very populous one.

Airport is clean but not very spacious. The airport airline check-in is located after the airport security check point; counter only open 2 hours before flight. This is very rush when flight is full; barely have time to browse through the duty free shops or to enjoy yje airline lounge. The airport authority should seriously re examine their SOP, else this airport is just like a train or bus terminal and not an international airport. Airport staff goes by the book rules and hardly have any smile on their face. Certainly not a friendly airport to go to. Hopefully the new international airport will be more friendly than this. Visited the airport lounge - quite basic and nothing much to write about. Duty free shops - wish there was time after the security check and the rush to check-in with airline counters open 2 houts before flight!!

The airport layout is quite unique, nice and plenty of shops.

But as international airport, the transit service or guidance is not so good.

Large airport. Personally I faced a glitch while security checking. I didn't realize what exactly wrong with the candles in checked in bag. Anyways immigration process is fast here.

The airport service is very good, and the baggage claim area will also help the passengers to arrange the trolleys in advance. Unfortunately, some local passengers are not enough, and they are often seen when they are in the queue and noisy.

Close to city centre, a little bit old and small. Not many passengers early in the morning, would be very crowded and congested during peak hours

I found this to be a decent enough airport for a short stop over. Flying on a budget and was offered a nice discount on a long flight with xiamen air. from the outside the place looks small and dated, but inside it was modern easy to navigate. Didn't seem overly busy or crowded during my stay and staff were polite. I did not leave the airport and made the best of my short stay, my experience with the airline service was really good for such a budget flight and the airport was great too.

Try to avoid this airport.
Guangzhou is a much better transit airport.
It s old and the staff have no idea what they are doing.
In transit area you get the full body scan and asking about your luggage s when you not even going to China.?
All the Chinees are taking selfies.. but aware if you a foreigner and taking a picture.
Exit the baggies claim you have 2 exit.
1 for Chinese with bags full of cigarets
And 1 special for non Chinese... with the full body scan again?

Arrived here for the next day to go to Taiwan and Kinmen by boat.
I arrived at midnight, but there was nothing except Kentucky until 1 am the next day.
There are no buses until 8am, and the ground is not directly connected.
At that time, I went to Sakai for the first time, so it was a bit of a memory here that it was around noon when I got lost and got to Gotsu.

Very well organised and efficient,I used as a leg of trip from Amsterdam to Taipei.xiamen airlines fleet of Dreamliner were ok but why they look around 20 years old interior wise I haven't got a clue.

Does not have a single Starbucks. Only has the (seemingly the same brand) duty free boutiques with nearly nothing worth buying

There is a lack of guidance for using public transportation to the city.
There was a direct bus from the airport right to the city, but there was no English information, so it was not available.
Finally, using Baidu map map, the bus stop located 10 minutes walk from the airport to city bus.

If you're not a backpacker, taxi might be the answer.

I couldn't find a local store that sells my money at the airport.
I feel that this is not an airport for foreign tourists.

Airport security personnel do not even understand basic English. They must be in the back door to get this job. This window of Xiamen Airport has ruined low-quality security personnel.

Horrible experience travelling with baby and kid. No facilities to take care of kids. Support is minimal from the staff. Ask for help, they disappear!

The airport management is messy. What I set is MF819 The check-in counter of the International Departure Hall of Xiamen to Manila flight is obviously collecting the smuggler's money. The airport is relatively new in China, and the shopping price in the domestic airport has always been expensive. This is not surprising.

It's OK for a Chinese airport. Small airport, dirty toilets, staffs so so but it has Mc Donalds, KFC and Burger King (BK is by the gates).

I don't like Xiamen Airlines' boarding service, I move slowly, and I don't maintain the order of passengers' queues

We used the airport to enter and leave in 2014, which is a medium-sized airport.

This airport is a bit smaller than other Chinese airports. It's still pretty nice. The washrooms were clean and there was a nice Small selection of restaurants and shops to pick from. We got through security really quickly although it was 5 am so that might be why. Overall, a great airport.

This is a up and coming as airport servicing the beautiful island cities Xiamen and Quanzhou in southern Fujian province.

Probably a cultural barrier more than anything, but the airport was terrible at handling disability. I was not met eye to eye when spoken to, and was literally wheeled into corners where I couldn't see what was happening. We spent over an hour at the special accommodations counter, and I had to sign a waiver saying that if they caused harm to me in the wheelchair, I take responsibility. I really didn't want to sign this, but if I didn't, we would have missed our flight. The announcements were all in Chinese, and we were not made aware that our gate had changed. Luckily we realised, but there was no way to get a wheelchair to the second floor.

On our trip back, I ditched the wheelchair even though I really did need it. The experience was significantly easier, smoother and nicer.

So a nice airport if you have no disabilities. If you do have a disability, use a mobility aid, or require any assistance, I would strongly advise not having a stopover at Xiamen Airport.

Not large at its size, but its interior decoration (of airplane) is quite nice. Located on the Xia-Men island, it is easy to reach downtown from here. Even taking a taxi is not that expensive.

So many entrances blocked for security. Carts not easily available at the curbside. Not a lot of space and limited crowd management for people entering the security check area.

Nice airport, but the transfer process is a real pain, as in most Chinese airports. They do not have an international area ...

Well make sure you see which terminal your flight is on and then go to it as terminal 4 and terminal 3 are quite far from each other and you need to take a taxi to reach from one to another.

Apart from that I had no problem at this airport.

The staff here speaks good English, is very helpful in arranging for through check in luggage if you reach early and also provide you wheelchair in case you need it.

There are no vegetarian food options here so pack something for yourself.

Washrooms are very clean.

There is a small piano near gate 67 and everything else is like any other good airport.

Best thing is that you don't need to wait for your fight number to flash to get a boarding pass, even if you reach a lot earlier, you'll get your boarding pass and you can go through security check and wait at the gates.

Midsize International Airport. Very strict security check for departure.

Extremely rude custom's officers. They make up rules for customs when you are on a transfer, made us miss our flight and would only let us board a flight if it wasn't the one on our original booking. Do not book for a transfer here, or with Xiamen Airlines.

I think it is a good airport in China, except for charging.

The gate to Xiamen is fast, and the taxi ride to the city takes about half an hour. The fare is about 34 yuan. Of course, you can also take the BRT, which is also very convenient. International flights between Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan are at T3, and the subway is under construction recently, so you need to make a big circle to get to the airport if you can. After the customs clearance this year, the shops have become more and better, and even RIMOWA can be bought, especially the opening of Burger King, which can make people have a full meal. The official warehouse lounge is at gate 17, which is a bit far away, and the lounge is very large , And fresh noodles can be eaten! In fact, the security inspection of customs clearance in mainland China is very strict! This is very good!

A clean airport with courteous officers and staffs.

Worst airport traveled through so far and leave some god damn pens with ink where people fill out their entry cards, will you?

The service attitude of Xiamen Airport is enthusiastic and the efficiency of customs clearance is high. The premium wines of the duty-free shops are small and competitive, and the Tianfu tea service staff is especially attentive.

Classic national airport, it does not seem an international stop but in any case there is everything you need and you move inside without problems even without knowing the Chinese.
To reach your hotel or city center I recommend taking a taxi (the cost is negligible).

When you leave Xiamen Airport you will have a unique smell.
It is small, but well maintained.

Domestic and international flights can be easily moved by free shuttle bus. Anyway, the big is comfortable. There was a street stall in the semi-basement of the international flight

Airport facilities are substantial unless it is a remote airport. This is okay too.

Nice airport in Xiamen. Not big, with few international flights. Home to Xiamen Airlines. Hopefully the transit works now.

There is no transfer terminal and you have to leave China after entering China unconditionally. A wasteful and unusual system that requires multiple lines
