Xcentric Mold and Engineering Review

If you want Good Parts, On-Time; DO NOT GO WITH THESE GUYS !
Our company engaged Xcentric Mold & Engineering to build us two, mating Tub and Lid mold tools and to provide prototype parts for a major customer Contract. We hired Xcentric for their professed expertise and quick-turn capabilities based on their website claims. They claim to control their entire Design and Manufacturing processes, and to be able to turn around Parts in 15 days or less. Boy, were we misled!

After the Xcentric experts reviewed our parts and confirmed no issues with moldability (verbatim quote), we sent in our order. Numerous delays ensued, with little notification from Xcentric. We had to chase down Xcentric people who offered numerous apologies; but gave no help getting us our ordered parts. Xcentric finally delivered molded Tub and Lid prototype parts to us 30 DAYS AFTER their guaranteed 15-day due date. Their Lid parts were acceptable; but the Tub parts were defective and not usable. When we tried to engage with Xcentric for reimbursement; we found Xcentric management difficult to reach, and more interested in hiding behind their Terms and Conditions than making things right with their customer. Our 4-cavity Production tool came in on-schedule, and we began producing real parts. So much for Xcentric s claim, If we can t do it, nobody can!

The parts were made exactly as they were designed, which makes a big difference when evaluating prototypes. Xcentric clearly has a unique way of making machined parts that keeps the quality high and costs down. We are very happy customers.

Easy, fast, and competitive quoting, projects delivered on time with precision and quality. They are experts in custom manufacturing are able to advise at all phases of the project from quoting, design, manufacturing and shipping. This team is great to work with and they are located and operate in the USA.

Xcentric has provided rapid injection molds for several of our projects over the last few years. We received great support on our latest molded parts from an engineering and production standpoint as well as mold resin sourcing. Would not hesitate to use them again.

Avoid Xcentic at all costs.
Part price changed as soon as molds had been paid for, orders were ALWAYS late, and account management team is as incompetent as it gets, constantly blaming other people in the organization for the delays. Quality across batches was never consistent and despite constant feedback, corrections weren't made. There are a lot of injection molding companies around - don't make the same mistake I did by using this one.

Employee request prepay company logo attire, never received Xcentric logo attire. Inquire about the status. Reply was only order & deduct cost from payroll. Okay... (Still waiting to "re-order policy" to order company attire.) ****terminated**** "'services no longer needed!'" one year.employment.

I could undeniable say that the quality and price of two pieces I made with them was high standard.

My pieces needed to be deliver on 30th. However they said to me that on 24 they will try to make it happen. I thanks because it was before deadline on 29 that I received it.

Pretty poor communication from this company and our first order of 8 milled parts, which totaled over $3000, were milled from a different material than what was on the quote. They refused to give a refund. So we submitted a credit card authorization form per their instructions. 3 months later we ordered 2 additional parts and didn't receive an invoice. They then would not ship the parts saying that we had 10 outstanding invoices. They need to get their systems figured out and communication within the company and with customers is obviously defunct. I would not recommend this company for milling, 3d printing, or plastic injection needs.

I have worked with a lot of injection mold companies. Each has their own way of dealing with customers.
The way you know you have a bad vendor is if they make you jump through hoops to do business with them. This is because they have probably had bad experiences, and so they force customers into complicated processes to cover their behinds.
A good vendor is one that has simple procedures, because they have no problems to fix.
Xcentric Mold is such a vendor.
My experience with them has been great. Easy to work with, helpful, insightful, and always trying to do whats best for the client. They literally earned my trust with them by demonstrating what good customer service is. I have relied on them several times for mold advice and support, and they've been spot on.
If you're hesitant to work with injection molding, then Xcentric Mold will have your back.
They certainly did mine, and will again on future projects..

Working with Xcentric couln't have been any easier. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Sales actually had a conversation with me about my part and discussed potential issues and recommended changes. In the end I received the part I wanted and it was fast! Will use again!
