Intro to auto is what this school should be called. You'll learn more at VoTech schools or save a lot going to community college. Falsified job placement rates and starting salary was one of the biggest lies. Job placement for life was a lie. The school I went closed down yet they still trying to collect money. Don't waste your time or money, just go find a shop and be an apprentice, you'll learn a lot more in a lot less time.

This school was basically a scam. Although I achieved high grades throughout they passed kids that cheated, and kids that couldn't find the blinker fluid if you know what I mean. It was a huge 30K rip off and I cant believe they are still in business honestly. Would rate a 0 if I could. The lies about employment rates and job offers were outstanding. The teachers were not top notch either although I did have a great fluid power and electrical teacher.

Absolutely a wonderful experience for our son. The caring and knowledgeable staff and the hands on environment was a rare gem in the world of higher education. Perfect place for a young man to grow up and find his area of expertise.

This school is one of the best out there I have taken diesel, advanced diesel, D.A.T.E, and chassis fab. Everyone who has rated this school a one star school has only heard stories of this school or has not even trying to apply themselves, the ones who try to see how many hours they can miss, the ones who think they already know everything and don't even try learning more. Use came knowing a lot about diesel and now I know a ton more. If you decide to go to wyotech please have a little knowledge about tools, and also be willing to learn, because it's the few that are to headstrong that messes it up for the rest of the class.

I love it here at WyoTech! It is such an amazing school, the teachers, staff, and community are amazing. You get the chance to help out the community of Laramie and it's just such an amazing school, town and community!! Make's me feel like I never left home!!

I have been here over one month and so far everything is great. I will end up completing Applied Service Management, Automotive Core, and Chassis Fabrication. I am not 18-22 years old like the majority of the student body. I am a 20 year retired military veteran. For those reading the Wyotech Laramie reviews, take the information with a grain of salt. Thousands of students have passed through here and are prospering just fine. For those 10 or so who wrote the existing Google reviews, you should be ashamed of yourselves. If you had major weaknesses, then do not blame the school for your failures such as poor grades, attendance, or attitude.

This School is one of my biggest regrets it s geared to make quick money off students and sell kids false hopes and dreams of high wages that companies are wanting you! Companies are looking for extensive experience at the rate they are selling you on at graduation! STAY AWAY

This school is great. I'm a retired ARMY veteran who is currently attending this school. And no this school is not ran like the military and yes this school has its minor problems like any other school does. Most of these negative comments are from young kids that can't act correctly and try to pick fights with our students and act like fools in the community themselves.

Graduated in 2005 from WyoTech in Laramie. I took Diesel, Advanced Diesel, and Applied Service Management. Most of the instructors were helpful and knowledgeable in each subject. There was a few bumps in the road with some of the instructors, but eventually smoothed out working together. It took a few weeks to adjust to the environment of living as well as following the schools profesionalism conduct. It is a decent school to learn the basics of customer service, business planning, & management, engines, powertrains, refrigeration, electrical, etc. The student housing was one downfall, some students had to be set up in local hotel rooms and apartments with strict rules (kinda like H.O.A's). I myself was in an apartment, but eventually moved to a local house. The education has really been beneficial to help get a job in the diesel field. The tuition is some what high, but the school staff has to make a living as well. There are cheaper education alternatives, but the way of school life in the Wyoming setting makes you develop into a self sufficient adult with different experiences. I enjoyed my time at WyoTech.

Waste of my time and money wish I never put 30 grand into this school to learn so little. There are very little good instructors that will work with you. I was fortunate enough of even graduating with almost failing everything. I started out as a lube tech making 12/hour and I was told otherwise before I started going to school. Great school for the length of 9 months but definitely not the most ideal place to spend that kind of money. Don't make the same mistake I did. They don't even help you find a job after graduating like they say they would. Good luck if you can get something good out of this school.

Don't do it it's a scam. Went here for almost two years was tool leader in classes made all good grades didn't cut up didn't miss a day. Jobs here won't even think about letting me on after they see wyotech. Most military vets don't have to worry about the large debt bill at the end. The 5-8000 dollars paid for an extra elective covers almost 2 to 3 full semesters at my local community college where I'm now enrolled to get a real job. RUN

I have taken and enjoyed Collision/Refinishing, Motorsport Chassis Fabrication, Street Rod Custom Fabrication, Trim and Upholstery, High Performance Power Trains and currently taking Automotive Tech. Wyotech is a veteran friendly, highly technical trade school with very knowledgeable and skilled instructors.

I attended the auto body and paint portion of Wyotech back in 1978. The original school in Laramie Wyoming. All others don't compare. I enjoyed the experience and loved the area. I spent 20 plus years doing exotic restoration and some fiber glassing of boats and corvettes. Would do it all over again. Staff was great. Sure hate to see this place close.

I am mainly writing this for students who may be looking at Tech schools right now wondering which one to pick. With that said my experience with Wyotech is only with the Laramie campus. Also, I have never done tours of other tech schools beside ones that are close and in the the area of where I moved from. With that being said I will give you as much information as I can about the campus and housing. I am currently in the Diesel Technology Program and really enjoy it. If you come into class's ready to put in the work and have a good aditude then I can tell you this will be a good fit for you. The Instructors that I have worked with are very good at what they do and genuinely enjoy helping people through what they are working on. They will come around in the shop and ask you what you are doing to make sure that you know what it is that you are doing. Then if you don't they will help you figure it out. Lectures in the class can be long but are very informative. The tools, equipment, and machinery you use is the best in the industry. They are constantly updating their program and curriculums to keep up with the industry. Wyotech is also licensed to administer ASE tests and if you have the 24 months relevant experience before you leave they will help you get you certification. And to all student who are just starting in the industry. You will have the opportunity to work through the student ASE tests. In these you can work your way up to master certification in the student tests before you leave. All of which will look great on a resume. There is also different things you can do on campus to help get employers attention. Things like getting perfect attendance, 4.0 GPA, community service. All are things that employers look highly on. Also if you get perfect attendance, 4.0 GPA, and are in the Diesel program you have a better chance of getting into the D.A.T.E. program. Which stands for Diesel Advance Technology Education. This program is operated under the very close supervision of Mack, and Volvo. So it is a very strenuous admission process. However, if you get in you will receive some of the best training in the industry. This program is unique to wyotech and you will not find anything else quite like it. So now that I have the academic parts covered I'm going to go into housing. This is where I urge all new students to pay attention. First, the student housing is actually pretty decent and for the money and what else is available in the area worth it. Second, there is only basic furnishings provided. The living room has a TV Stand couch and either a love seat or arm chair. The kitchen has a table 4 chairs and a microwave. There is no dishwasher, pots and pans, plates, cooking utensils, or flatware. Anything you need for cooking will need to be packed and brought with you or bought when you arrive. The bedrooms are decent sized and have twin xl beds. The closet is about 2 and a half feet wide and 4 feet deep and there will be a dresser for each person in the room. The dresser has 3 drawers about 4 and a half feet wide 2 feet long and 8 inches deep. So plan accordingly for your clothes. The beds are on a high enough frame the any luggage, foot lockers, totes, and miscellaneous bags can be stored under there. There is a desk for each student that is plenty big enough to hold laptop books and binders for studying. But there are no drawers so bring a cup or something like that for pens and pencils. There are laundry rooms on each floor of all 4 buildings in the campus housing and the washers and dryers all work pretty good. The maintainance here does pretty good about keeping the facilities running and looking good. So if you can take anything from this I hope it is that this is a great school if you apply yourself. If your expecting this to be easy and everything to be given to you then don't expect much from this experience. However, if you want to learn and are willing to work for success then apply now. And do not forget to bring dishes and bedding.

Top Notch School. I attended 6 months Automotive Technology, 3 months Street Rod & Custom Paint, 3 months of Service Management. I went on to Mercedes Benz graduate school in Florida which was free of charge to me. After graduating from MB Elite I got a job as a Mercedes Benz tech and was making $50k/yr within the first year. I went on to become a Service Manager making much more. All of the training WYO Tech gave helped me progress in my career. I would highly recommend this school if you are willing to apply yourself in the school and once you graduate. Recommend keeping perfect attendance while in school, future employers like to know you are accountable and took your education seriously.
