Wyndham San Diego Bayside - Wyndham Worldwide Review

Great location, but we were placed next to room were renovations/remodeling were going on. Would have been nice if we were alerted initially and had been given options. Manager was nonchalant in his response. It was my husband's birthday, and for what we paid leaves us with questions. No call was made as a courtesy after we checked into room. Also, the carpet in the hallway on our floor appeared to have not been vacuumed. Outrageous parking fees. Will NOT stay here again. Disappointed.

Hotel is clean and in great location but heaters are non existent in this hotel. I wouldn t stay here when winter approaches and no space heater available.
No microwave in room or in lobby. You have to hand your food to the agent to heat up for you. Very inconvenient and odd especially since the towers are spaced apart. Going outside in the heat/cold to head all the way to the front desk to heat up food is not my cup of tea. Won t be my first choice when returning

Claim Jumpers is great place to go if your hungry. (Big portions)

-5 where to begin ..your charged for parking with it being open and felt unsafe
..doors dont lock so toddler keeps opening door and the stopper is 4 or5 inches away from door so fingers keeped getting hurt
..no and I mean nonexistent precaution for virus felt dirty and not one hand sanitizer any where
...elevators if some push a botton you never when to your floor yourself just keeped going up and down
...loud I mean loud sounds like a large party in the another room.
...never any hot water cold very cold...
View what view looked over at a roof in the hotel?? People's house smoking smells like smokers..and this is just the beginning of a longer list.
Never write reviews, but very upset. And need to sleep and can't because its to loud.
And only the first night. Never came in to clean room 5 day stay....I took out the trash.

Super convenient location for the San Diego attractions

Clean but a bit run-down. Toilet ran all night! Very loud. Beautiful sunsets on the water right outside. Hotel restaurant is overpriced and just so-so. Great gift shop. Parking is ridiculously expensive - don't bring a car. San Diego isn't that big, and you'll pay less in Lyft fares.

Our stay SUCKED!!! We keep asking ourselves did we really leave home for "this"! I can't believe we just payed $292 plus $40 parking for such a crappy room. It is the week of my husband's birthday and he wanted to go whale watching so we picked this hotel for its close proximity. We got a bayside view to make it more enjoyable. We got stuck on the 10th floor in a room that was so loud I got literally ZERO sleep. The longest wall of our room had two elevators against it and I heard them go up and down all night long. Whenever there was a lull in elevator traffic the ice maker and drink machine outside my door was sure to cover the quiet until the elevator returned. My room was so loud in itself I barely heard the traffic of being directly in the flight plan of San Diego's take offs. If my room, being unusable, was that expensive I can't imagine what a room costs that you can actually sleep in. My husband was able to sleep but that's not saying much because he was exhausted from driving the whole way there and is used to sleeping under the flight deck of an air craft carrier! I would never return and don't recommend it for anyone else, the only decent part is the staff was friendly but that doesn't make up for an expensive and unusable room!

Ive stayed at many Wyndhams before, and have never been disappointed until today. I'll spare you all from my terrible narrative. Long story short, extremely inefficient check in process, terribly small parking lot & spots. Waited 2 hours although was approved for early check in and they gave us a room that has not been cleaned. Pics of what we walked into. Needless to say we cancelled our reservation.

Ok. Plain jane no frills room. Lumpy pillow, heat doesnt work, only fan or ac in the room. No bathtub, no refrigerator or microwave. Not a big deal but not great. The coffee maker is under the tv, above the dresser that leans forward and the drawers keep opening, cant use the coffee maker from its location. Bathroom has strange doors, doent lock, has empty space and makes no common sense. Also, odd there was no hotel book in the room for local info, dining info or anything. But heck if your company pays for it, thats ok. But dont use your own money.

Good location with views of the Star of India and USS Midway. Also has a great view of the Ocean and you can watch airplanes take off and land from the airport. Walking distance to many tourist attractions including Harbor Cruise Tours.

The view is great. From tower 3, you can see the USS Midway museum and a lot of the bay. The sunset is wonderful from here too. But the amenities are seriously lacking. The only microwave we could find is at the front desk. The parking at the hotel costs $32 a day, $10 more for valet. There is an option for free internet but it isn't very good, the paid internet is better but expensive. I got room service once and it was good. All in all, quite a mixed bag.

Excellent customer service, our room had a livingroom, kitchen, two balconies, and comfortable bed. Hotel located right at the bay.

Great location and clean room. Parking costs $29 per night for self parking or $40 per night for valet, which they do not mention online, so add this amount to your nightly rate. They also are not great at holding reservations, since we reserved a room with a King, but when we checked in only a room with two doubles was available.

The hotel is very nice, definitely looks like an expensive hotel. For how fancy it is and the price I would have expected a breakfast or something in the morning. But all in all a good experience.

On arrival, valet was quick and easy. Check in was very simple. Had little difficulty acquiring my room. The room was very tidy and had all the necessities.

Convenient location, great customer service, seemingly clean location and near many things to do

Location is the best reason to stay here. Right on the bay and walking distance to Little Italy, GasLamp, and Trolleys. Wyndam is very pushy with their marketing. The conceirges are very friendly, but they repeatedly are trying to push you into the Wyndam timeshare promotions. Nothing they offer you is worth the precious vacation time they hyjack. The hotel is run down and in need of remodeling. Bathroom was small and cramped. The bed was comfortable. We stayed due to an event, but I would choose a different hotel for the price there care much better options.

The hotel service was good and I really enjoyed the location - it's an easy walk to the shops and restaurants in Little Italy or the ships. I docked a star for the horrible parking rate ($36) and because some parts of the hotel look pretty old/worn.

Great service, clean rooms, and proximity to downtown.

Beds were only double, no fridge, parking fee excessive..$29 per night, bathtub shower very slippery making it unsafe for some people. I tried asking for something to put on the shower floor staff were not helpful. Computers were down no way to print boarding passes. Very noisy outside... not really controllable but worth mentioning if you want a good night's sleep. Planes overhead, boats and cars all night long. I'm not sure i would recommend this place, the cost was more expensive but the accommodations didn't live up to the price.

Currently waiting for maintenance to come look at whatever is coming out of the sink. It's been over an hour since I called them.

Front desk is rude and unprofessional. Housekeeping is decent.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful area. No complaints at all. Very clean and tidy, great pool area and gym.

Nice hotel - clean and in good shape. Great location and very comfortable beds. Loved the airport shuttle. I was there for a conference, so a microwave and fridge would have been nice to have. No free breakfast, either.

Location was good but they put us in the worst possible room with a view of the buildings HVAC system.

Hotel was nothing special. Basic room, small balconies that are not private, so you can see everyone else's balcony on your floor. TVs are hard set so you cannot hook up any other device like a DVD player, game console, etc. The complementary wifi signal was so weak, it wasn't worth using. Parking is $30/night. Room service took longer than it said it would and the food was subpar. They also were towing vehicles in the lot below our room so there were constant honking car alarms going off at 10pm. Decent location. Comfy beds. Clean. But I will likely not return.

Food is ok. Had salad, chicken, and a fruit tart. Chicken wasn't dry, but was sweet.
Nice big ballroom, easy to talk to my fellow Avon Ladies even with all the music blasting.

Parking is easy, even if a little expensive, but being on the bay means everything is pricy, so I'm ok.

OMGOSH Our Room was Wonderful it faced the Water IN FACT these Pictures are from Our Room. Reasonable Room Rate, Very Quiet, Starbucks, Claim Jumper and a Great Gift Shop that has Everything You'll Need.

No early check in available, however rooms and service was fantastic. View was fantastic. You could see the USS Midway from the hotel.

It's close to the airport on the bay and has an airport shuttle. Each room has a refrigerator in the room which is convenient. There are no microwaves available even in the lobby which is not convenient.

Very nice hotel at a great location. A bit outdated but offers all the amenities a 4 star hotel would. Parking can be expensive but same goes with all the hotels in the vicinity.

Great view and a perfect spot for fun. Only reason I did not give a 5 star is due to the noise level's from other guess in the other rooms.

Location is amazing and the rooms are reasonably clean. However, the parking fee was $35 per night and we were NOT told about it when we checked in. On top of that WiFi is capped at 3 Mb/s and you need to pay $10 for 10 Mb/s which is still abysmally slow (for reference, most home WiFi goes around 30-50 Mb/s). All and all, it is a fine location, but the price gouging is a tad maddening.

Modern and clean hotel in an awesome location on the bay right downtown with much easier in and out access than other hotels downtown.

Parking fee is additional. It is my first time to consider parking fee when I visit a hotel.

Location is great and views of the bay are excellent from tower 2.

Let me first of all start off by saying I AM CHEAP AND PROUD OF IT...why do I mention this? Great question, I didn't want to spend money to park at the hotel, since I AM CHEAP. I parked more than 1 mile away and walked. I wasn't sure if this hotel was going to be quiet since it is a rather BIG hotel. There are two, or three towers? I was in one of the towers..AND IT WAS VERY QUIET AND CLEAN...thanks for a Rockin Rad stay Wyndham

Terrible food at claim jumper. ...could barely eat it, even though other claim jumpers are excelent.....need to get better cooks

sheets are comfortable. view is great. train is super loud.

shuttle service from the airport took almost an hour -- not the drivers fault, they just need more busses. air conditioning in my room didn't work on arrival -- called the front desk from my room phone and it rang for 5 minutes before i gave up and called the main number on my cell (most times during my stay it took between 3 and 5 minutes to get anyone at concierge on the phone). shower handle was broken when i arrived (got it fixed after talking to the maid -- one of the few staff that was great!). they messed up charging my card and ended up double charging me -- not a big deal, just a pain.

overall i almost gave 3 stars, but there was just so much that was not right... for spending more than $250 a night, it just wasn't there.

What an amazing view and such a centrally located location!

My husband & I just did a return visit to the San Diego Wyndham because it was so amazing the 1st time. The beds are so plush!

Rooms are small, NO ice in machine, shower handle very loose, tub wouldn't drain. Don't recommend

The hotel was average, however there was a mixup with the bedding.

If you're a tourist in San Diego then I would highly recommend this hotel. It's a little old but still plenty nice for a moderate budget. It's close to the hop on trolley tours and the harbor. It's like a 12 dollar Uber ride anywhere.

Great strategic location next to San Diego bay. Ruth's Chris is literally next door.
