Had a great experience and got an exceptional engineering degree from this university. Saw a lot of people complaining about being mostly a white school which although true, I made lifelong friends with people from different races and countries from all over the world that I still stay close with 10 years later. If you keep an open mind and take advantage of WVU s resources the world and opportunities are literally at your fingertips :)

Most Professors here are very reasonable and friendly and foster a learning environment. The in-state tuition isn't too bad, and I have heard it is cheaper for some people to come here out of state than to attend their in-state schools. They have a phenomenal Engineering Program that rivals other big schools. They keep updating all of their tech equipment for the various engineering majors and it has made my work with Computer Science much easier. My only complaint is like most other public universities, they follow a business model and cut corners and like to raise tuition just above what scholarships give. To be fair, most universities do this now, and is something you can't really compare schools on.

Almost heaven, West Virginia

Almost heaven, West Virginia
Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River
Life is old there, older than the trees
Younger than the mountains, blowing like a breeze
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain mama
Take me home, country roads
All my memories gather round her
Miner's lady, stranger to blue water
Dark and dusty, painted on the sky
Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain mama
Take me home, country roads
I hear her voice, in the morning hour she calls me
The radio reminds me of my home far away
And driving down the road I get a feeling
That I should have been home yesterday, yesterday
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain mama
Take me home, country roads
Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain mama
Take me home, country roads
Take me home, down country roads
Take me home, down country roads

Did the campus tour yesterday. Beautiful campus, even in the middle of winter. The 2 student guides were energetic and engaging. Its top of the list for my son. I have to add..reading some of the other reviews is misleading. My thought was that these comments were meant to reflect the physical , visual aspects of the campus, not be a sounding board for disgruntled students who failed biology , or needed a more diverse student body. If you failed a class, your fault. If you wanted a more diverse student body, you shouldn't have matriculated there in the first place. And stop with the nonsensical comments about everyone walking around drunk all the time. ALL colleges have parties. If you wanted silence, chastity and prayer you should have gone to a convent. I have been around countless graduates of this institution who have high level federal engineering jobs, and a few who are physicians. The college experience is what you make of it. It's not someone else's fault. Get over it.

It's a good school in a lovely location. There are great teachers in the biology department. The PRT is a fun way to get around on campus. There are lots of things within walking distance from the main campus. The Creative Art Center has wonderful shows. If you need bigger Pittsburgh isn't that far away for a day trip on the weekend.

The class is way more easy, get straight A on engineering campus, undergraduate courses are ok, but for graduate courses some of them just not qualify as graduate course, the teacher just reading though the slides. Nothing special, like the comment before, 80% are white, other races just stay in their own circle, white people drunk all the time, I already tired live in here, even I trying find a roommate, post on craglist, couple of guys make arrangement and never showed up. Overall, disappointed, but I don't want give a one star, you may find this is a good place, it depend on person, but not for me

Ruby Moral Hospital, being from Pennsylvania is elaborate and great hospital the staff, the nurses are very compassionate to there patients and family. So from the vice mayor/director and coordinator of defense in for Fayette County Pennsylvania. I stand and give the Presidential Salute, keep up all the great work. And to all the doctors and nurses who are first responders and for the hospital police for all who are working the front line. Remember to follow all the Federal rules and regulations. And keep a safe 6 feet apart. So we can do are part to stay safe.

I have very mixed feeling about wvu. The environment is beautiful and very peaceful if you find a good place off campus. High street has some of the best restaurants and stores (BLACK BEAR IS THE BEST!) This school is great for the average white male or female who likes to party with friends and have parents to pay all there expenses, but if you're not a person who parties alot (ME) then wvu might not be for you. I was pressure constantly to go out and party and when I didn't I felt like a loser or something. The university is 86 percent white. Other races usually form their own groups within themselves, which I hate! When I hung out with white people, black people gave me the 'side-eye.' There were many of my classes where I would be the only black female present. I'm not saying that this interfered with how I learned but if a professor played the color purple or talked about slaves during lecture, lets just say I did not feel comfortable. Andd theres a motel a few block away from campus called PLANTATION INN..Im not saying this has anything to do with black people, but comeee onnnnn! I just didn't fit in. I would live or work in morgantown because of how beautiful it is, but NOT go to school here. I met a few great people here and a lot of not so great people, but I'll forever be grateful for those friendships, and I'm currently looking towards transferring from wvu. It's been a bittersweet ride, mostly bitter.
