Wrest Point, Darwin Casino & International Casinos Review

I come here for functions and conferences often. Its a little dated and could do with a makeover. Would rather be at Henry Jones.

Basic but good value in the Riverview Room restaurant.... $10 & $12 meals on Good Friday....friendly staff, clean and spacious surroundings.

Had the buffet lunch, beautiful views, unfortunately it was Octoberfest and most of the dishes contained meat. The deserts were lovely.

Its getting a bit tired but still a great place to watch shows

The location is very convenient! And the scenery is beautiful! The indoor atmosphere is comfortable, but the hotel is not very soundproof and the toilet is a bit small.

Huge place. Would like to explore it more but we had a bus waiting for us.

Revolving restaurant High Tea was perfect. Staff were great, venue terrific, sunny day with awesome views of the Derwent and Hobart.

Good spot same priced rooms as other places around city

We stopped in here for lunch while on holiday. It was absolutely beautiful and great prices.

I recently attended a private dinner which I had pre-requested vegan food. Not only did they actually cater to my request, the food was exceptional in presentation and flavour. the waiting staff were also very considerate and organised having confirmed my vegan request before brining out the meals. Absolutely thrilled.

Would much rather go to cascade hotel their meals are beautiful

Hmmm TLC missing, repair in room was left with what looked like paint and silicone on the wall and pelmet. Bill was printed incomplete. Lots of weeds growing in paved walk ways. It's the little things....

Very cold atmosphere was not made to feel welcome very average bistro food will not go back.

Attended an outdoor concert in the lawns. It was a picturesque venue for live music. Drink selection was average and somewhat overpriced.

Very comfortable but a little far from tbe city resteurants and shops

Went there for lunch meal was cold . I would not recommend. I think a pub meal would be better

Nice place. Clean room and friendly staff. It's a bit out of town, so if you want to get in to town you will have a good half hour walk or take a taxi. There is also a bus and it's cheap and quick.

The hotel is a new type of building in this area, the casino brings entertainment, the bar brings laughter, the rooms are comfortable and the service level is good.

Updated rooms are absolutely amazing, great staff, Cindy in the bird cafe is one amazing barlady!

In need of an update. staff where very good. Food and drink is old school.

Staff are lovely. Bread and main courses delicious. Brownie, not a brownie. Flat and dry, not to mention small portion for the price. Love the booths. Will Go again.

Upon arrival I was advised that I would have to put $200 on my credit card as a safety deposit and that it would just be pending or I could pay cash. I paid the $200 as I had booked the accommodation and prepaid for it online. Upon checking out I was then advised that the $200 deposit would take 7 to 10 business days to be returned. This is extremely unusual as every time I stay at a hotel it is always $1 charged to the account.

Also the hand sanitiser at the elevator that has a sign telling you to use before entry was empty. The elevators were filthy, there was a large black hair on our hand towel in our room, the water runs out of the shower and all over the bathroom floor, the slippers were clear used and disgusting.
Honestly considering the global pandemic I would have expected the accommodation and facilities to be cleaner.

Staff was also rude, definitely will notbe staying there again.

New sports bar terrible set up. To small for size of casino. Couldnt get a seat at 2pm. Very average. Wouldnt recommend anyone go there if you want to have a punt.

A nice, warm and friendly environment. The casino is always worth a visit even with the lower levels closed.

Friendly staff, rooms a little dated. Not many options for children.

The location is easy to find. Close enough to everything in Hobart.

Attended a function here and the service was amazing couldn't of been better the staff were friendly and attentive. The venue is fantastic the tasmen hall was absolutely gorgeous would definitely recommend to everyone.

Lovely to wake up overlooking the water (or the mountain if your room is on the other side) and very comfortable modern rooms. The buffet breakfast is amazing, my favourite one! Staff are friendly and it is easy to get to the hotel, park, check in etc. Always very happy when I stay here

Lovely old hotel, maintained well. We stayed in the waterfront suites on the side.
Definitely enjoyed the view of the water, so calming. 1st floor worth it!

It's overpriced for a mediocre experience. I'd be happy to pay higher prices for a better experience and food, but this is higher prices for the same stuff you can get elsewhere.

Small and outdated rooms. Overpriced for that it is compared to other hotels in the Hobart area

The room is so noisy, sounds from people next doors, fridge, water, the AC... Couldn't sleep until 3am. What a terrible night.

The room was lovely and the staff friendly and attentive however my wife and I were disappointed with a few things. The Chinese restaurant was closed to public without any notice to inform the public about it. We went to the reception and they had no idea what to do or how to get info. No Australia Day stuff around including the regatta just up the road. Breakfast was over priced for two ($50) with coffee on top of that. Almond milk available in the main dining area near reception but not downstairs for a late night coffee and they wanted to charge an extra $1 for a teabag for a stronger brew. Considering the cost of staying there and the additionals,, I would think twice about eating in the casino again. Stay yes. Eat no.

Going down hill fast , been coming here every Sunday night for the last 6 months and noted a lot of changes that benefit the venue even more than before.
If you want people show it!

Had a business meeting there and the staff were excellent.

The staff were all quite friendly and helpful. The view from the restaurant was beautiful.

The Motor Inn room was the perfect simple, clean and affordable accommodation. Would definitely recommend. Has access to all the restaurants and features of the casino and a walk pas t shops and restaurants to the city centre for more options is definitely doable (Say 40min). Very happy we booked here and will be back when we return to Hobart.
