Woofs & Waves is a great place to find all of your pet needs, whether it's dogs, cats, small animals, reptiles or fish. They're a wonderful resource if you're new to keeping fish and they have an excellent selection of fresh and salt water fish as well as plants, coral and live rock. The staff is always friendly and happy to help you out!
Awesome local pet store. They have a large selection of fish and aquariums. Been buying dog food and cat food from here for years.

I'm not sure what the issue is with their guppies but I've had seven of them now and they keep dying. Out of the seven I had only three are left two of which aren't looking good so they are probably going to be dying soon as well. So that's over $20 worth of fish that have lasted less than two weeks. I've bought fish from a lot of other pet shops and haven't had any issues with their fish. They are all doing great and are fat and happy fish. My water tests good as well. Their plants are great and do very well and I can't talk about their other fish other than the one albino cory cat that I got from them which is also doing great but I'm done buying guppies from them cause it's a complete waste of money. They just die within a week to two weeks. I can't afford to keep literally throwing money away. I'll get some more from Petsmart as the only fish I've lost from them was a guppy that got killed by my male Glofish Beta. Otherwise every single fish I've bought from all the other pet stores are all still alive and doing great. So beware of their guppies for sure!
They don t take care of their fish from what it seems like. I know fish can die fast and unexpectedly at times but when I went there there was an entire koi fish skeleton, that the koi where eating off of. If the koi just died I can somewhat understand it, but with it being a skeleton means it was left there and not cleaned. In several other tanks there were a few dead fish here and there. Overall I don t think they take care of their fish as much as they should, they need to make sure the fish are healthy or at least do daily cleaning of the tanks. (Edit: when the owner responded and clarified a few things I decided to bump up their rating from a 1 star to a 3 star as I think they properly responded and provided decent responses to my criticism)
Close to with friendly service. They even have a food purchase incentive program, buy 12 & get 13th free (I believe) that they track so you don't have to. I also happen to know they're experts.

I really like Woofs and Waves. They have great customer service and are very knowledgeable when it comes to questions you may have. They have a loyalty program where you can earn points and redeem them for cash to be used towards your purchase. They also carry a lot of unique items other pet stores don't supply. They even have a small clearance section towards the very back of store.

I have my own saltwater aquarium and I've never been to woofs and waves but I thought I'd try it out. they had a nice selection. But almost ALL of their saltwater fish was sick. There was one that I was told was in PERFECT condition so I bought it and not even 24 hours later I woke up and it was dead. They do NOT take proper care of their fish at all and I will definitely not be buying from them again. That's 50 dollars I spent and I cant even get back because they dont have a warranty. Its messed up
Went here for feeder insects for our bearded dragon. Hornworms were small and came with no food, and subsequently died. Waxworms were the smallest I've ever seen and also were a waste of money. Their Dubai roaches cost $1 each which is ridiculous. No wonder they had so many. My advice, stick to dogs and fish because your support for reptiles is lacking. Save yourselves time and money and go somewhere else.

Our favorite place to get our little baby's food! I love that they pay attention to each customer. If you wanna stop by and just chat about your puppy or something they are helpful with that and so friendly! They are also super understanding when it comes to you being in a rush and need to just grab something quick they can do that too! I also appreciate the guys helping with the huge bags of food and bringing them to my car for me! Things get a little wild when I have my puppy with me so it's definitely a huge bonus! We love supporting our smaller shops!

Amazing in every way. We have been going there for the aquarium side of the business and have been pleased with every visit. They have a knowledgeable staff (there is a guy there that really shines), excellent stock and overall it's just a very nice place to go. The fish are vibrant and the plant life is excellent. They give you the ability to purchase their RO (reverse Osmosis) water and you get $10 back when you return the container and they have a great many containers so you can get your tank filled or flushed in one shot!! Go there with confidence that you will be in good hands

I am a cichlid enthusiast and fish lover and this is my first time here and won't be last wow that place is awesome wasn't sure what was walking into left knowing found a treasure . I bought some cichlids from them. They have a huge freshwater selection that few can compete with and nice coral , marine creatures , and saltwater fish selection . Very friendly and knowledgeable staff . I didn't check it out but looked like had a good dog section too. Thanks for such an awesome find .

Today I went to Petco and I went to PetSmart to find a good gift for my dog for Christmas and didn't find anything didn't receive any help or any offer to help. The moment that I walked into woofs and waves I was immediately asked what I needed and the staff help me find something better than what I actually was looking for. This seems to be a local business and kudos to them down with the big box stores up with local business five stars for woofs and waves
This is the only place in Sioux Falls to buy fish and any pet supplies. They really care about your needs. I have a 8 year old gold fish that had gotten sick and we thought we would lose it. When asked about this they knew what to do and helped us. Our fish is now back to good health. With out there knowledge and caring heart of the staff it would have for certain died. They are excellent and a gods blessing to the community.

It's a great shop. I had some beef a while back with the store due to a misunderstanding but then I got to know the guy who runs the shop and I'm really happy with the way they do things. I learned a lot from a half hr talking with the owner and I can honestly say that I am impressed. Besides that one misunderstanding, I have nothing but positive things to say. Pretty average pet store. I really enjoyed when their light up sign said oofs & Waves for a while. The aquarium selection is above that of Pet Smart and Minikritters. The staff was average. 4/5 will come if my fish come back to life.
