Took Palo Coleman's lamp making class this past weekend. While I had experience with power tools and general construction, I had no experience with a wood lathe. The class was entertaining, informative, and above all, I plan to continue with designing my basement into a wood working shop. I would recommend this or any of the classes at Rockler to anyone interested in learning the wood working trades, regardless of experience level!

Rockler is always a little pricy, but you get what you pay for. Staff is friendly and helpful. Would recommend. The best part is that I can send my students there and trust that the staff will help them out.

Basically, it's the only game left in town (and I don't just mean Cambridge but the entire Boston metro area) when it comes to specialty stores for woodworking. Good selection of tools and supplies, and a good selection of hardwood lumber too.

Parking in the back.
There is parking in the back of the building, as you're approaching, drive just past the entrance and go down the alley next to the building, there is parking back there.
The staff is very helpful and it has enough in stock for a small store.

I m repairing a desk with extremely obscure hardware that needed replacing. Though they didn t have it in the store, the Rockler staff helped me find a vendor with the right cam lock and cases online. They also talked through the gluing job I need to do and helped select the best wood glue. The prices were reasonable. And nobody assumed I m an idiot because I m a girl. I ll definitely be back!

Very helpful on making a purchase, the manger was also helping me make a decision on a miter gauge so I made the purchase and I am satisfied. Will be going back, Rockler sells good products. Kudos to Peter tha manager.

These guys even need reviews? It's not like there's any competition around for what they offer. Anyway, I found what I was looking for and they were super nice even though I'm not really a woodworker.

Always a helpful, knowledgeable staff on hand. Wide selection of products in the vast basement cave. Highest ratings. Great place for tinkerers with problems or a vague vision to solve/ make happen.

The friendliest, most knowledgeable staff you could hope for. Nearly everything on the Rockler website is in their store, which makes it easy to scope out options before you go in, or simply browse when you get there.

First time in... I could spend hours here looking at all of the tools, hardware, and woodworking supplies. They had tons of specialty fasteners that I needed, higher quality and lower price than Home Depot. I can't believe I've never come here before, but I definitely will come again.

I like DIY a lot and have going small hardware stores are great for advice. If you do a lot of DIY and get frustrated that no one knows where anything is or how to do anything at the big box stores then you should check this place out. Tons of tools, lots of free advice and people who are enthusiasts. Love this place, it's where paychecks go to die

Freakin awesome store for carpenters, remodelers and tool nuts. It's where I go to get speciality tools and supplies you can't find at lumber yards. Like jig knobs and t track. It's a store for woodworkers mostly. But it's great shop for carpenters as well.

I drove 37 minutes on the highway to pick up a phone order I placed the day before for drawer tracks. My husband & i walked in & were greated by a lovely young lady. I advised her why I was there & let her know I would need the tracks cut to size. Prior to the pandemic I needed tracks and found rockler. Walked in, picked out the pieces with assistance and the attendant cut the piece to size as I waited. When I mentioned needing them cut the attendants offhanded said that was something that woody did. Apparently a certain attendant cut them normally? The two attendants decided i would switch to the male attendants register & the young lady would assist the next customer, so I switched registers. The male attendant began rudely telling me he wasn't aware it would need to be cut, that it was a busy Saturday morning (we were 2 of 4 customers in the store) & that it wasn't something they normally offered. To which I asked how was I to know that as a customer as the first time I came in it was offered to me. He told me it's because you came in, dropped it off and came back. I asked him: Are you telling me what I did as though we've met before? Because that's not what happened. I came in and it was done on the spot. I told him he was being rude & had an attitude to which he replied he wasn't and that they were just busy. I replied I'm in no rush, take all of the time you need. He begrudgingly took the piece to an amazing attendant who helped cut it to size. I could over hear the first male attendant explaining my inquiry as though I was being unreasonable. The young lady asked if she could check me out while I awaited the pieces and she was a peach. The older gentleman then returned my tracks and he told me he would have a wonderful day if I did. He was a peach. The young man was horrendous. If you want to tell a customer you are busy you simply say it may take awhile but we will do our best. With how everything is right now I really could have gone without the experience of being the only black customer being berated in front of other customers in a store and yes everyone was looking. Disappointed and won't return.

The two other attendants deserve a raise as I almost didn't post this because they were so kind. Also I was happy to see that there was more diversity on their staff as it was awkward my first time entering but this interaction really stuck with me. I was there at 11 o clock and I'm still upset.
