Love the farm to table concept. Beautiful restaurant and the service was friendly, but the prices were wayyyy too high i.e.1 cup of vegetables on puff pastry for $26?! - overpriced in my opinion. I've seen other farm to table restaurants do the same for much less.

Food gets 1 star. Service gets 1 star. My husband & I made reservations for 5:45 to leave plenty of time to make a 7:30 play. We needed every minute because the service was so slow. We were seated at a duce against the wall where we were More

We went around 230 on a Saturday and it was perfect timing, the place wasn't bursting with people and we didn't wait long to get the food. I had the egg brioche sandwich with potatoes and my friend had The burger...food was fresh and very well seasoned. The only con, which I think is more preference for me but the tables are really close to each other and its hard not to ease drop on others conversations. Other then that it was a great experience!

Love sitting at the (small) bar for a quick bite, or sitting for a full meal. On nice days they open the garage and indoor seating feels like outdoor seating. Also have a nice patio space. Only reason not five stars: its not cheap. The food is always fresh and local, and i do like it, but i always have a small jump when the bill comes.

Over-priced for what you get. Menu hasn't changed in a long while and got real tired of it. Also, limited vegetarian options. The fries are delicious, though. Too bad wife loves this place, means we'll be back.

Everything is fresh and from the farm. Makes you feel great about dining here. The French Toast and CSA Hash are two of my favorites. The patio is beautiful and makes guests feel like they are in a garden oasis in the middle of the city!

I love all the plants they have in planters hanging from the wall. The food is good, and the concept is great. They source their food from the Tangletown gardens (their greenhouse is across the street, but the farm is in Plato, MN). It doesn't get more farm to table than here!

Great farm to table food! Good taste and good server! We had a great time. It serves to note we came in 20 minutes prior to closing and the staff was friendly and prompt with our food

It's a small place that used to be an old filling station. As such, it has a quirky charm. They can open the "garage doors" in the summer to give it a nice outdoor feel. They pride themselves on serving farm fresh food. The food was good. We were served some complementary curried popcorn and I liked my salad. I had the pepper crusted steak "Steak au Poivre". It was good and flavorful, but maybe just a bit tough - could have been just that particular serving though I suppose. The sides that came with the meal were also excellent and well seasoned. My wife had the chicken and absolutely loved it and would get it again. They have a decent selection of beer and wine. I ordered the red wine flight and liked it. All in all I liked it and would go back.

Get the Bacon! The bacon is absolutely delicious. If duck is on the menu, it is amazing too! My only complaint is that duck isn't always on the menu, but that can't be helped with the farm to table set up they have going here. It's a bit pricey too, but the food is over all worth it! Give this place a try.

Very, very good. Seemed like every dish we ordered had a surprising flavor. The charcuterie plate had some of the most phenomenal dijon mustard, but the maple cheese held the surprise. The mushroom shared plate was our favorite bite, easily . The braised nettles were great with the steak. And the parmasean-grape custard was shockingly great. The only downside, and this is minor, was the super light and slippery plates. Trying to cut the pork chop was an act of reserved agression; cut too hard and you risk throwing the plate across the restaurant. Regardless, we will easily go back.

I ate at Wise Acre last month and, for the first time, was quite disappointed. I ordered the daily special which consisted of fried polenta, ragu and chicken. The chicken drum stick and thigh were so tough they were literally difficult to cut from the bone, let alone chew. My other several visits have been very satisfactory however.

Open dining area is spacious, yet not loud and without echos. Adequate portions that are nicely plated let you enjoy the main course, along with their other offerings. Garage door windows let in a lot of light, too.

I was excited to try this place out to satisfy my boujee brunch craving but our experience was so bad I had to write a review. The place is adorable and I love the reusable towels in the bathroom but our waitress was just not pleasant and the highly disappointing food was the cherry on top.

Skip the Bloody Mary unless you want to pay $10 for tomato juice and beer (they don't have a liquor license to provide any Vodka)

The Duck in the Eggs Benedict with Duck Confit was sooo dry and salty I couldn't finish even half of it.

The burger came well-done when my husband ordered it Medium and this was overly salty also (probably due to the thick slice of aged bacon).

You know the food is bad when you dread paying for your meal. It's safe to say we don't plan on coming back or recommending this place to our friends and family

Absolutely love the food and service here. Unfortunately I have never been treated more rudely in my life than I was by the host on 3/5/17.
As a result I will never be back which really disappoints me because I enjoy the restaurant. But you can't give your business to a place that disregards basic civility. And just so it's clear: I've never left a review like this anywhere, and the host told me they'd have to be a "mind reader" to give me an estimate on the wait time and that she "didn't have time to deal with me." When I was just determining if we had time to eat there.

Beautiful setting, wonderful concept, food OK

I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. The service was fine.

I had the bar be cue chicken. I was surprised that it was a thigh and leg (with skin and on the bone) without indicating that on the menu. I agree with the other reviewer who said the food is over salted and expensive for what you get. The chicken was exceedingly moist.

The other surprise came with dessert. The flavors on the sundae of the day were wonderful, but there were ice crystals on the frozen custard.

Overall a pleasant experience but not necessarily a repeat.

Delicious locally sourced food with a changing seasonal menu. Everything we have tried is has been excellent. Great patio space and garage doors open for outdoor feeling even when seated inside (weather permitting). Weekday brunch menu is excellent. Had a good variety of local brews on tap. Great local restaurant that's a must visit!

We stopped in here because of their farm to table claim and were not disappointed at all! The staff were so pleasant and welcoming that our entire dining experience was one we won t forget. They own the farm that sourced the restaurant and offer CSAs and there isn t a single thing we weren t excited about.

Wise Acre is a great spot. It is a South Minneapolis staple! They have plenty of parking available and if the lot is full, then plenty of nearby street parking.

They are a farm to table restaurant that provides the freshest ingredients. I was impressed with their menus (both drink and food). Each had a variety of meals and flavors that had something for everyone.

This place has a lot of versatility. It is a spot to take your kids or it can be a first date place.

The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and the flavors. The food came out in a timely manner and tasted great!

Very good, but $60 for lunch = a burger, veggie meal and kids burger made me feel like it should have been freaking great. Didnt feel like it was worth the money... extremely nice wait staff...

Delicious and fresh! I got one of their signature breakfast scrambles which was filled with a perfectly cooked slice of bacon and locally sourced farm fresh veggies. I went in the early spring and will be returning once it is warm for a delicious outdoor meal on the patio.

Food was excellent. Every bite was magnificent, tasty, and better for the environment. While a little spendy for an everyday eatery, this is definitely a place to go to for special occasions, or the occasional night out. Craft beer selection was decent, but could use a little conformity with their excellent menu. Service was fast and friendly.

We have always loved dining at Wise Acres . Now that has been taken away from us, we decided to order take out. We also ordered fresh food to add to our fridge. The take out food was delicious. We picniced by
Minnehaha Parkway and took our fresh food home. The lettuce was fresh & delicious.
Thank you Wise Acres for helping us enjoy an afternoon safely away from home. We will definitely be back!

I love this little neighborhood place. Great patio, perfect for sipping mimosas and ordering brunch or lunch. They get local, organic food from Tangletown garden farm - highly recommend the seasonal salad and the CSA hash - both are fantastic and leave me feeling full, healthy and happy. I also love the wine selection and the little popcorn app they give out during happy hour (wish they offered the popcorn every time). The service is always friendly and welcoming. If only all summer days could be on the Wise Acre patio!

Someone with a big appetite might think the portions are small, but I felt they were just right. I got a half portion of the French toast and couldn't even finish it because the toast peice was about an inch thick and awesomely dense. It was sooooo good! My brother's ham on his hash was nice and thick too.

Beyond the french toast and 2 salads the menu is small by itself so vegetarians may have difficulty ordering and I dunno if vegans would have much choice at all. If you're open to anything I feel it's a great place to try something new/different for sure.

The staff were wicked friendly and very helpful!

I got the burger. The ingredients were all high quality, but the meat was under seasoned so it was a challenge to taste through the other ingredients. Probably would have been better without the toppings.

Wise Acre is a farm to table restaurant where they own their farm. The food is so fresh, the atmosphere is inviting, the staff is pleasant and the menu has many creative blends of healthy foods. I highly recommend Wise Acre Eatery.

We have been wanting to go here for quite some time. It did not disappoint. beautifully designed place. Even the bathrooms were decorated beautifully. Lots of outdoor seating. Great enthusiastic staff. Everyone helped all even with special request. Small menu but great home growing choices. And to top it off, we had a little spicy chocolate frozen custard that was delicious! We had to buy a pound of their special bacon to go. check out Tangletown Nursery right across the street affiliated with it. Simply stunning place. Their fruits and vegetables are grown in Plato Minnesota. Cannot wait to go back.

We stopped at Wise Acre Eatery on a whim in the mid afternoon on a Saturday. The place wasn't terribly busy and it appeared that a group of their kitchen staff might have been planning a new menu at one of the larger tables. The wait staff was super attentive and friendly. We thought about having a cocktail, but we each decided to have a cafe miel instead. They were excellent! I ordered the smoked chicken Caesar salad and my husband ordered the blue cheese burger. When our meals arrived, we were taken aback at both the size and beauty of the salad. It was mounded on the plated and covered with edible flowers and pea shoots. The kale on the salad was fresh and crisp and delicious, and the balsamic based Caesar dressing was light, but nice. The burger was delicious, with an unapologetically strong blue cheese. The house made ketchup was a surprising delight, as well, with more than a hint of ginger in it. We'll totally stop by again. Maybe leave some room for dessert and drinks.

Love your annual Farm Dinner.....this year was the fourth one I've attended. However, very disappointed that the main protein was 86'd before making it to our end of the table. An apology from the chef or manager would have been appreciated.

FIVE STARS!!! From the food, to the cleanest bathrooms I've seen in a while, Wise Acre Eatery clearly takes pride in all that they do! It is so nice to be able to enjoy a neighborhood restaurant that serves good food, that is...wait for it...GOOD FOR YOU! Everything is fresh and made to order (so be patient), and did I say delicious? I have enjoyed EVERY meal here, and encourage all to stop in.
Ontop of the food, the service is awesome. Have you ever had a dining experience ruined by your server? I have, but not here. The servers are knowledgeable and attentive. Detail is important here, and as a former server, I respect and appreciate that.
Bottom line, go...Be Wise and just go.

My husband and I ate here while on a short trip to Minneapolis. It was the first meal we ate and we liked it so much we made it our last meal as well! I had the burger and my husband had some sort of pot roast with roasted carrots for dinner. For breakfast I had the omelette of the day which had some veggies and a delicious aioli over the top. Can t wait to visit again next time we re in the area!

Food is pretty good though we have had some occasional misses. We like the idea of local grown food and they really try to make interesting dishes not just the same old stuff. The place is really cramped and you are going to be elbow to elbow with the next table, sit outside if the weather permits.

Disappointing experience. Its very cute, certainly support the idea of farm to table, and some aspects of our order were not bad, but at close to $50/person with a split app and a single drink this missed the mark by a mile. Specifically: the charcuterie/pickle plate was tiny, mediocre, and the server could not identify several of the items, our reclaimed wood table was so lumpy that drinks slid from high points to low (a silly complaint, but try spending your entire dinner trying to balance your glass on just the right spot, it was irritating), and the black bean burger, at $18, was dry and flavorless--a crumbly patty, a dollop of runny cream, a bun, and nothing else. My partner's meatball and mash entree was over-salted, but otherwise pretty good, by far the high point of the meal. Will not return, there are so many better options around the city.

Three of us dined outside on a gorgeous night and had a "meh" experience. The baked chicken was delicious as was the beet hummus and accompanying bread. The black bean burger was dry and tasteless, even with the accompanying habanero sauce. The salad came without the pickled egg. Service was friendly but s-l-o-w and forgetful, despite not being particularly busy. The wait staff never brought the requested items and we had to ask 3x for our dessert (which had been left out and was presented in a melted state). Love the premise and impressed by the other ratings, but I was underwhelmed and unlikely to return.

Absolutely delicious. It took me a moment to find a good local place when I was staying near mall of America. Almost everything there was a chain. Such interesting dishes and friendly wait staff. Everything I tried was amazing.
