Some of the best French Toast I've ever had. Friendly service.
I had the honor of eating at this wonderful little restaurant for the second time. The first time was a week after it was open and the place was jammed packed on a weekend and it was a crazy atmosphere. This time was a totally different experience. The customer service was fabulous the lady that meet us at the door was very polite, but the really great service was when we meet our server. Our server name was Lindsay (I recommend you try to get her to wait on you) and she was wonderful. She really knows the menu and made wonderful recommendation on the food. She also made the meal fun, enjoyable and entertaining for the six of us. We where in that area for a seminar on customer service that day and we all agreed that this was the person the instructor was talking about the whole time. The food she recommend was also prefect for each of us. Excellent quality of food and great customer service. It is like the prefect combination for a place I want to eat. I will be back anytime I am in the area.
Nice place, I just didn't love what I got. I had the burger and fries, which cost $17.50, and it was just ok. I also had a furious in the can for $7.50.
Amazing food. Thoughtful, local, creative menu. Beautiful outdoor setting.
While the building and decor are interesting, the food leaves something to be desired. If you're a hipster with no real taste, or an old pseudo-intellectual who likes eating bad food because it meets your ideological leanings, this is the place for you.
If you're a normal unpretentious 'average joe' then you'll find the food remarkably overpriced and disgusting - what could be decent food is ruined by terrible vinaigrettes, horrible 'house' sauces (who the hell makes their own ketchup, and how do they even call that crap ketchup?), and poorly cooked vegetables and sides.
Case in point - Their flagship burger is small, covered in substandard brie (Brie shouldn't look like cream of wheat ffs!) with a slab of very thick, but very unflavorful bacon on top. The side consists of thin-cut french fries that are both overcooked and soggy. All of this for a 'bargain' price of $16.
This place will continue to get business because it's politically correct, even if it's a culinary disaster.
Love the healthy and local food. Morning cocktails also quite lovely.
Locally sourced food-- wonderful environment for intimate dining.
Not bad but not good. My wife's bacon was over cooked looked like black strips of char. my mother's sausage was undercooked was still pink in the middle and my father ordered over hard eggs they came runny in the middle the waitress brought him new ones and they were still not cooked all the way. The staff was nice my French toast was good but the other meals had flaws and for the price we should have not had to deal with.
Always love it here!! Awesome farm to table from their OWN farm!! AND they do not use canola oil and they make their own ketchup!! The serve my favorite "crack in a cup" coffee from 5 Watt.....just down the street. Super healthy place to eat out!! The bacon is off the chain!!
Great selection of yumminess. Loved dijon mayo and big slab of bacon on my burger.
We love this place! We went for a wine tasting dinner. The food is locally grown, excellently prepared, and was paired perfectly with the wine.
Great food, an inspired menu. Awesome patio seating on a nice day and excellent service.
I went there for the first time one random weekday morning, and the wife and I were the only people there. We had multiple Mouth-Gasms! The moaning sounds coming out of our mouths were beastly and the food was moving us from our core. Not joking here. Their menu changes often, depending on what they can source locally or what is in season. Service is nothing extraordinary, but the people who dine there aren't looking for fine dining service. Servers are unobtrusive but attentive to your needs.
Solid A+. I'm proud to live within miles of this fine establishment and I'm looking forward to more mouth-gasms.
p.s. Wise Acre has a 3.9 Google rating while Curran's has a 4.2 - proving that the rating system is obviously flawed.
I enjoyed the wine list and the brunch menus was simple. Although refreshing items were on the menu it felt a little too small and simple. I would have liked to see some more options than I did. Overall the atmosphere was nice and the staff were attentive and friendly.
Great place, but limited menu options.
Wise Acre is a great idea, but with limitations. I like how they source everything that they can from local farms, but this also leads to a very small menu. They do change it up, and just about everything that they do do is done well.
The food and service is amazing! I love that everything is locally sourced and that they are a near-zero waste restaurant!
I really enjoyed the veggie hash. So yummy! Very healthy but also scrumptious. The orange juice was very good. I'd definitely go back!
Good food but expensive for what you get. Entres run $15 to 30+. Sides must be purchased separately and average about $10 each but are portioned to be shared. This is a small restaurant with only a handful of tables but a nice decor and very friendly and knowledgable staff.
Best farm to table brunch in town. Try the CSA hash and the if you must. Always amazing specials on the chalk board as well. They also sell frozen meat and awesome hot sauces. Nothing but good things to say about this place!
Wonderful menu of farm-to-table items. Tasty flavored popcorn appetizer is a bonus and their creamery treats are a nice cool desert option.
Went for brunch based on our son's recommendation (he was introduced to the eatery by foodie friends). I ordered the French toast that is a unique interpretation and upgrade of the traditional recipe. Found it delicious and quite filling. I More
Every time I come here the food and service is amazing!
Farm to table concept. Kind of pricey considering portion sizes. Server was slow and wasnt personable. No introduction/welcome, no offer to answer menu questions, no suggestions offered. He was clearly not happy to be there.
Have been to Wise Acre a couple times and they never disappoint with their breakfast/brunch. Absolutely the best hash I've had in a very long time. The service has always been a good experience the staff is friendly. Very fresh and flavorful food.
I will cut to the chase, the ambiance was very nice with tons of natural light. However, I ordered their chicken and it was bleeding in the center. I understand rare is a type of preparation for meat but it is never appropriate for chicken. I thought the initial denial of the ill prepared meat by the wait staff was inappropriate and super defensive. Only to find out the chef agreed after seeing the blood ooze from the meat. In addition the burgers also tend to be underdone with no inquire in to how the diner prefers their meat. For these prices try one of the much better burger joints in the area( lowbrow, malt shop, or George and the dragon). Happy eating.
It was really nice stopping at the farm first, then coming here knowing everything we were eating came from the farm.
Delicious, creative & locally sourced food...nice staff...what else is there?
Homie atmosphere, fresh ingredients, amazing taste, and wonderful service.
Somewhat hungry and have too much money? Try this place. Decent food for a days pay. $17 for a cheeseburger shaped like a cue ball..good food but not great for the price. Aesthetically pleasing place though.
Farm to table perfection. The kale Caesar salad is a stunner for lunch and everything on the breakfast menu is on point.
This was my third time eating here and I ll go back again. Servers were fun and friendly. Despite being very busy, we felt the attention we received was perfect. Food was delicious, especially the Butternut Squash Bruschetta and the bacon. Trust me...You ll need to buy bacon to take home. Only downfall, which they cannot help, is due to how popular they are the place is packed and moving from table to door is hard. Love eating here any season, but summer is best as it s more spacious with the patio open for dining. Thanks for the great food, Wise Acre!
The breakfast wasn't all that but the place is nice and the staff are very friendly.
Great outdoor seating, friendly staff, best cookies ever
Love how small, cozy and quaint this place is. It does limit seating (& parking!) and can get a bit loud. Go to brunch for upbeat and sunlight filled atmosphere or go for dinner with a romantic vibe promoted with candlelight. That leads to the wonderful and tasty farm to table menu, array of options (GF, V etc), innovative drinks, lovely bake goods and one of the only places with multiple organic wines available!
Farm owned so 80% of the food is super fresh.
Everything we ate was perfect! The servers were on point.
A little on the pricey side but worth every penny.
I feel like I'm on a European vacation when I eat there. Great food & great atmosphere. Pretty slick with a gas station and an auto repair building made into a restaurant. Just like I'd expect a foreign country to do. Very enjoyable .
The space is over expensive, the server was rude.
The space is very stuffy.
Highly not recommended.
I came here after a million recommendations. I got a sandwich, a biscuit and a latte and I honestly cannot tell you which one was my favorite because they were all sooooooo good. They did have this biscuit with ham and cheese and honey on top that was out of this world but the buffalo chicken sandwich was also surprisingly incredible. Unlike any buffalo chicken sandwich I ve had before.
Also Lindsey my server was also incredible. So sweet, so kind and loved her vibe.
This place is my new obsession!
Locally sourced food, much of it vegetarian. Good service. Prices reflect local sourcing and fair trade, so not cheap.
Well are you reading my review.try and find an Item on this menu that is bad,it will never happen.the menu changes all the time. My favorite wait staff works here, hang out outside among some of the best landscaping in town. This is some of the greatest for choices!
It is a small but very nice establishment. Service was incredible and the food was spectacular!
Excellent!!!! Staff super helpful and friendly. Accommodating if you have any food allergies, very good food.
We really love this place. The food is so good and they always have something new. I highly recommend the burger. It is so tasty and that piece of bacon on it is amazing. The salads are also very tasty and have veggies from their own farm.
The food was a different spin on classics but not very good. The Brie burger was like a hockey puck and at $18, I expected better flavor combinations.
Fresh and over the top delish. Love the atmosphere, food, farm-to-table sustainability.
Limited menu, horrible coffee, ridiculous prices!
However if you're a foodie and want to read about where your food came from, you'll probably love it.
They did have a nice atmosphere and a lovely outdoor area, so to be fair, it's just not my thing.
An adorable establishment with wonderful service and great food! They have a great wine and drink selection as well.
Weakly flavored food served at outrageous prices. Don't let the farm-fresh tagline win you over, while the farming may be good the cooking and accounting need work.
Really cute place! I liked the farm to table philosophy and thought the prices were fair for the quality of ingredients. I liked the tarragon in the eggs! The waiter forgot about us/was off her shift and didn't tell anyone, so had to chase the staff down for the check, but overall very very nice people. Check out the plants hanging off the wall near the ceiling!
Home grown farm to table food is delicious and consistently high in quality. Coffee is terrific too.
Farm to table restaurant associated the Tangletown Farms. Very good!
Great food with a lovely decorative interior.
I would recommend the burger. The plating was original, and the portion was perfect.
Wise Acre uses simple recipes with simple ingredients to make delicious food. No junk.
We love absolutely everything about this place and you will too.
Great farm to table food at wiseacre and the bacon is truly memorable. The service seems to lack hustle on multiple visits I've made here - to the point of being considered slow. If you're not in a hurry though it's fine to slow down and enjoy.
Very good food, not a long wait on a Saturday at 11a. Very charming converted garage.
Met a friend for lunch and it was our first time at Wise Acre. Friendly, welcoming staff with very well-paced service. I had the day's special, which was a farro risotto with fresh peas, pea greens, and a poached egg. FANTASTIC. Will definitely go there again!
Wonderful service and fabulous food! Everything was so amazing! I loved the fries and caper aioli!!! Must try if you are in the area!
I would eat here again, it was pretty good
Highlights; trendy/rustic atmosphere, food was good and unique, you can get coffee.
Downsides; a little pricey for what you get, menu somewhat lacking in the normal food options department, and not super kid friendly, I would not try to bring my kids here for a family dinner
You get what you pay for! The prices are high, but this is a true farm to table restaurant that operates a small farm practicing sustainable and ethical growing. The food is delicious, service good. Vegetarians and vegans - the menu is animal heavy...look at menu in advance to make sure it suits your diet.
Delicious food and great service. Try the dish called "If you must"
Farm to table. Amazing brunch fare! The pork bacon was delicious some of the best I ve had. The eggs, vegetables all had so much flavor. Their ketchup was different but delicious. And the cornbread with a little bacon butter is a must try.
Wonderful setting, fab food! Take a
Choc cookie to go for later.
had our first takeout order - Highland Beef Burger - great new flavors - whatever they are doing - best burger in years! Side of bacon was too good to put in the burger - Beet Salad - well worth the price, mix of ingredients perfect! Will be ordering both again.
Great food and service, the prices are a bit high though.
Average to mediocre steak. Excellent service. Fair if a bit overpriced drinks. Nothing compelling to write about. Not a place I would go out of my way to return to, but if I lived close by, I would give them another chance.
