Winchester Mansions Review

Not a bad first stay in Cape Town. We have a family suite which includes two bedrooms, a living room, bathroom, and a porch overlooking the park. Struggled with internet access for a few days but the hotel worked very hard at resolving the issue. Free breakfast and it has been excellent. Bar is great, dining room is wonderful. Very friendly staff. Very happy we did not rent a vehicle as parking looks pretty tricky. Business center should be eliminated.

found the food in the bar very disappointing...stir fry had to much salt and soy and fish platter was dry.

Hellishly overpriced; cold, mediocre food. The staff weren't particularly perturbed by our complaints. Last visit I'm afraid.

I love this space for afternoon tea and would've given it 5 Stars but after calling 3 times to book and re-check that our table was in the Courtyard in the shade, NO table was reserved for us on arrival today.

Loved my experience at Ginkgo Spa at the Winchester Mansions! It's so close to town but feels like you miles away from the city from the moment you enter. The treatments are wonderful; and the staff are friendly and considerate. Would definitelty recomend Ginko Spa and will hopefully be back soon! :)

Possibly the best venue in CT for a jazz brunch in the picturesque courtyard, served by friendly efficient waitrons . The bar area also had a beautiful view if the Atlantic Ocean.

The room was very comfortable and clean. We felt secure enough personally and with leaving our belongings.
The staff were amazing as was the service and the food.
We'd love to stay again as it is in a great central position too.
We can highly recommend a stay.

High Tea on a Saturday is a real special occasion treat. Enjoy a delectable selection of savoury and sweet treats beautifully presented on a silver tiered stand, whilst listening to relaxing live music. Service is super friendly and efficient and for a special occasion, which in our case was a birthday celebration, they went the extra mile. A lovely surprise plate of gourmet sweet treats, complete with sparkler and a song made our birthday boy feel extra special.

Relaxing treatment rooms that allow for couples and a nice choice of treatments. The products they use smell great and I found suited my skin. Some products such as options for gel nail polish are limited.

I have enjoyed their Elixir massage but would want to try other options.

The booking system could be improved. The staff are willing to try to resolve any issues.

I stayed alone for 5 nights in the Winchester Mansions. It's in a fantastic location close to all amenities. The hop on hop off bus is right outside the door. It is approx. half hour walk to the V&A Waterfront but you can get a free shuttle there and back if you ask reception (though the walk is lovely). The pool area is nice. The staff are happy, friendly and helpful. Both breakfast areas are lovely, in the courtyard and out on the front balcony and the food was great. Harvey's Bar is great, it was lovely to sit on the balcony in the evening, sipping a drink and watching the sun go down. I hadn't realised that Cape Town was such a beautiful town... fabulous views every which way you look and lots to do and see. I would recommend the 'Winnie' as a good place to stay!

I always enjoy the brunch and especially the jazz. There is something for everyone on the buffet. My only gripe is that they charge for coffee.

Hotel clean, quiet, comfortable. Great in-house restaurant. But the top is the staff, they are all very kind and helpful. The receptionists went out of their way to solve a problem we had with our luggage. I recommend it 100%

We went for the Sunday brunch. Second time for us. As usual it was very good and well recommended. Live Jazz playing. Have to book well in advance.
