Our party of 5 were there for coffee and a light breakfast in their beautiful courtyard setting. Three ordered croissants which came tough and inedible and seemed to have been microwaved. (You know how microwaved bread is?) The management apologized profusely and took the offending changes off the bill. We have no reason to go back for food in an area that has so many other great alternatives. Pity.

I had high expectations for this hotel, but was underwhelmed by. The common areas are of high standard. Some of the best food is served at Harvey's restaurant. The bedroom was cramped and the kids room was very tiny. The toilet was so close to the wall, and so close to the sink area it is difficult for a tall person to sit comfortably. The shower floor was discoloured. Staff were very friendly and always willing to assist. This applies to the front end staff all the way to the service men, who came to assist me with luggage. I had some of the best room service here.

Excellent selection of food choices, with no pressure to move you out for seating of other clients. The service is wonderful from a team of friendly and efficient staff. Whilst eating, watch paragliders dropping by within the view of the promenade on Sunday. We also enjoyed their team of musicians playing background jazz and singing romantic songs. Enjoy a walk down the promenade afterwards.
Well worth a visit.

Only went to the restaurant and it was not great. Food not tasty and overcooked ! Floor dirty and dirty dishes on every counter top with food on the floor. Drinks were just okay and overpriced. Would not recommend the restaurant.

Lovely hotel that harks back to yesteryear. Very clean, well priced and located. The staff were all excellent from the bar, restaurant, housekeeping and reception. Call outs to Jeandre, Nelisa and Sandiso for always going that extra mile. This is definitely the go to hotel in Cape Town.

An old Capetown classic, looks odly out of place amongst rows of apartment buildings. Its beachfront location and terrace bar makes this an ideal spot to enjoy coffees or sundowners. There is a parachute landing site right at its doorsteps, so if you feel adventurous you can arrive in style.

Great staff. Very friendly at the spa.
The only thing I would suggest is that they play soothing background sounds when doing a massage rather than it just being complete silence.

Good starting point for activities, shuttle service to the waterfront. City Sightseeing buses stop opposite the hotel.
Staff exceptionally well trained, very polite and helpful.
Rooms are maybe a bit antiquated (colonial style is a matter of taste) but spacious and clean.

City hotel in a good location directly on the beach promenade with a beautiful courtyard, good breakfast and friendly service. Parking garage available, reservation necessary. Rooms are partially renovated. We had a classic modern room. Room was ok, the bathrooms need to be renovated.

it was our second time in the hotel and this time we only booked standard rooms. We would not do that anymore, only executive rooms, they are ok.
The hotel is an old building and now, step by step, you could do some renovations.
Positive: the location is m. E. strategically very cheap, especially for rental car travelers.
Shuttle transfer to the waterfront - very good, very friendly drivers. Breakfast in the courtyard is also good, as is the bar with a small outdoor terrace.

Awesome atmosphere, delicious food, live band, people dancing to the music and local S. A celebs also dining at the restaurant, Awesome service as well. We had such a lovely waitress as well, who even made us pose for the camera. Pity it will be closed for renovations until October. They even have a Jazz brunch on a Sunday and high tea's that looked to die for. My husband and I had a two course meal using hyperli vouchers but we had such a variety to choose from.

A treasure from a by-gone era, sufficiently modernized to make one comfortable (faster and larger volume data - even if offered at a minimal cost - would make things easier)
The bougainvillea covered view from the entrance to the courtyard remains an attractive breakfast / lunch area...live music events by (mostly) solo artists are frequent here (Sunday brunch and jazz being an institution at this venue)
The bar offers both service and sunset/ ocean views - which, more often than not, leaves one smiling.

Generally a positive experience (with few wrinkles to be ironed out) Parking, however, can be challenging at times though...

I got married and had my reception at Winchester Mansions and could not ask for any better.
The staff is absolutely fantastic & was at my husband and my side throughout the whole journey of planning the wedding. All my friends and family couldn t stop gushing about how beautiful the venue was and how helpful and willing the staff are. They definitely go the extra mile.
