Stunning location on the Sea Point prom for breakfast or sundowners and light snacks. Stunning views at sunset!
Excellent sundowner venue in the heart of seapoint where uou can watch the world go by - classy, austere olde-worlde, good food and thr position is top notch.
Unfortunately, there is no place for a little more privacy here. One meter in front of our room guests pass by. So you have to keep the curtains closed all day. The culmination, however, was that our check in at 14 o'clock food on the floor in the hallway. At 19 o'clock still. Then we said at the reception. Under the food bells was sometimes meat! When we left our room at 7 o'clock the next morning, it was still there. After the second time we drew attention, it was finally disposed of.
Oh my word what can I say about THIS GRAND MADAM.......ENJOYABLE BEAUTIFUL AWESOME AMAZING PLACE STAFF AND SOOOOOH LEKKER THE FOOD I'VE BEEN GOING HERE FOR OVER 30 YEARS AND AL AYSGARTH WILL I KNOW THE OWNER AS WELL
Great place, unfortunately due to the drought in cape town the view isn't what it used to be.
Nice location on sea front. Helpful and friendly staff, nice rooms and good food
We are regulars at Harveys. Food and service always great. Staff super friendly.
Great service, good clean rooms, professional sraff.
tasty nachos and thai fish cakes. super delicious virgin daquiri and virgin pinacolada cocktails. pleasant waitress. service a bit slow
As always we had an amazing dinner in the restaurant! The food was delicious but most of all we enjoyed the incredible service of Ally! What an amazing person!
Perfect for a couple of drinks after work. Best place to sit is in the courtyard as the balcony area gets packed. Service was above par.
I recommend the Sunday buffet brunch, especially when it's sunny and you can sit outside in the courtyard.
Friendly staff, good food with some vegetarian options and very good desserts.
We used to be regulars when we lived in Sea Point and return whenever we are in the area. Usually for drinks but this time we enjoyed a belated anniversary dinner at Harvey's. Excellent and attentive service in a beautiful setting with delicious food. My Calamari dish, prepared in a number of different ways was super delish and filling. Hubby enjoyed a Kudu Fillet with fries and mushroom sauce (additional cost for the sides) The only issue with his meal was that the fillet was too small. Otherwise it was very well prepared. A lovely evening all round.
Service was unattentive. Still a good spot for a sundowner if you find a place outside
Hotel is recommended, clean rooms, large bedroom and bathroom. Staff is very friendly, shuttles free to the waterfront and Table Mountain - with registration at the front desk.
A relaxing Sunday Brunch in the courtyard, an outdoor oasis, but wind-free (on a windy Cape Town December day). A wide selection of delicious items, from sushi to the 'full monty' English breakfast. Leave room for the home made pastries, malva pudding, etc..
Great selection of food, amazing ambience, live band in a glorious courtyard setting... paired with great sea views. Spectacular place to be
Beautiful elegant and refined hotel. spacious and well-appointed rooms. Breakfast good. Great location for touring the city by car or tourist bus that has a stop right in front of the 'hotel. But for walking is an area with few rooms, you can just take a walk along the ocean
My family's favorite for any occasion. Always exceptional
Always a pleasure to be in this historic and relaxing hotel
Lounge only for residents so no cup of tea at this place...pity because it has a great atmosphere..
Staff friendly. Relaxing atmosphere. Old English charm.
UPDATE: I understand that they have turned the sink water back on in their restrooms so I have moved them from one star to five stars. We will be regulars again.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: They have NO water for washing hands in the toilets. It is a public health hazard DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER EATING HERE. I spoke to the manager about it and he just said they are trying to save water and could not be convinced of the public health hazard he is responsible for creating.
Very good experience, excellent food. Friendly staff from the moment you arrive. Positioning excellent
Terrace beautiful view and good service. Very friendly staff.
Under some construction and looking forward to the new look
Fantastic bar that overlooks the sea point promenade, elegant interior and remember the courtyard buffet breakfast venue is absolutely must to experience!
I can only speak for the bar, not the hotel. They have a good selection of beers on tap and also a great bar food menue. It's nice inside, but if you can get an outside table you are looking right onto the ocean. Lots of parking on the road, one can generally get within 2-3 minutes walk of the hotel.
Great place to stay. Hotel is fairly priced and rooms are spacious and comfortable
Used 4 star type colonial hotel. Wind whistles in by the doors to the terrace!
Fantastic service, excellent buffet. Highly reccomended
Great views from the balcony - perfect setting for late afternoon drinks!
When walking on the Sea Point promenade, the WInchester is the place to stop for a beer or a coffee or a snack or supper. A lovely terrace. Lovely atmosphere. And great conferencing facilities. I had my 50th birthday party there. There is also lunch with music in the interior quad over the weekends, but we haven't had the good fortune of going to that.
