Unfortunately, there is no place for a little more privacy here. One meter in front of our room guests pass by. So you have to keep the curtains closed all day. The culmination, however, was that our check in at 14 o'clock food on the floor in the hallway. At 19 o'clock still. Then we said at the reception. Under the food bells was sometimes meat! When we left our room at 7 o'clock the next morning, it was still there. After the second time we drew attention, it was finally disposed of.

We used to be regulars when we lived in Sea Point and return whenever we are in the area. Usually for drinks but this time we enjoyed a belated anniversary dinner at Harvey's. Excellent and attentive service in a beautiful setting with delicious food. My Calamari dish, prepared in a number of different ways was super delish and filling. Hubby enjoyed a Kudu Fillet with fries and mushroom sauce (additional cost for the sides) The only issue with his meal was that the fillet was too small. Otherwise it was very well prepared. A lovely evening all round.

A relaxing Sunday Brunch in the courtyard, an outdoor oasis, but wind-free (on a windy Cape Town December day). A wide selection of delicious items, from sushi to the 'full monty' English breakfast. Leave room for the home made pastries, malva pudding, etc..

Beautiful elegant and refined hotel. spacious and well-appointed rooms. Breakfast good. Great location for touring the city by car or tourist bus that has a stop right in front of the 'hotel. But for walking is an area with few rooms, you can just take a walk along the ocean

UPDATE: I understand that they have turned the sink water back on in their restrooms so I have moved them from one star to five stars. We will be regulars again.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: They have NO water for washing hands in the toilets. It is a public health hazard DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER EATING HERE. I spoke to the manager about it and he just said they are trying to save water and could not be convinced of the public health hazard he is responsible for creating.

I can only speak for the bar, not the hotel. They have a good selection of beers on tap and also a great bar food menue. It's nice inside, but if you can get an outside table you are looking right onto the ocean. Lots of parking on the road, one can generally get within 2-3 minutes walk of the hotel.

When walking on the Sea Point promenade, the WInchester is the place to stop for a beer or a coffee or a snack or supper. A lovely terrace. Lovely atmosphere. And great conferencing facilities. I had my 50th birthday party there. There is also lunch with music in the interior quad over the weekends, but we haven't had the good fortune of going to that.
