The wildlife is well looked after by great staff and volunteers. We have been going for years and it's getting better and better. There's a new bit to the play area which has just given the ok to use when the safety advise has been implemented. Our granddaughter loves the big slide.

Visited Wildwood yesterday with my family of 6 on a wimb and was truly disappointed. There were so many enclosures not being used or were being repaired so therefore not in use. See very few animals at all and the health and safety in that place was just seriously awful! The only reason they still are in business is because they are ripping off people! Definitely will never be visiting this conservation park again, my son was truly gutted and disappointed when we left...what a waste of time and money!

As soon as we got here we struggled to find parking. I understand things can get busy but the parking was too small for the amount of people who visit. When we got in we were disappointed to find almost half the animals not in they enclosures. The cafe service had nothing at all bad with it. We brought 3 hot drinks and 5 ice creams. These all came to a reasonable price. The only problem with buying disposable cups and ice creams is there is not enough bins scattered around the enclosures. More visitors come to your attraction during the summer, so I personally feel all the work needed to be done should have been done during the winter. I came with my younger sisters and there friend, as they are young children they tend to use the toilet frequently. But we found out searching for them we only came across one near the exit/entrance. The last thing I want to mention was the lack of talks that actually occurred. We got to the lynx enclosure and waited for the two o'clock talk, we were waiting for 15 minutes but didn't receive the it. This was not the only talk we didn't get. My mum also pays for membership to help the charity. I would just like to add from a 14 year olds perspective I would rather not come back.

Just returned from our first visit to wildwood. The atmosphere is very relaxed and so enjoyable. The staff are all very friendly especially Michael who loved chatting to us and really enjoyed telling us about the animals, especially the crows.
Well worth a visit and reasonably priced too. Would definitely recommend and would go back again .

Really pleased we got to see the bear cubs and the resident bears too. Rest of the land looks a bit tired, might be the time of year but looked a bit rough. Worth the visit while the cubs were out and about.

Absolutely amazing, saw lots of animals, saw the wolves in a pack, used the bear walk, bit scary, easy to book in, online bookings now, spent about 2 hours in there absolutely loved it, but if you go, be aware it's a conservation area not a Zoo

Was a nice little walk around but most of the animals were hiding when we went. Car park was a bit cramped, I even had trouble in a small hatchback.

There is only one set of toilets on site, right at the entrance as far as we were aware.

Staff were friendly and accomodating but the place seemed a little bit untidy.

You need patience or repeated visits to get the best views of the sometimes shy wildlife here, but the bears, bison and wildcats never disappoint.

Last time the grass snake and adders were showing themselves off; this time we actually saw the weasel-first time in my life!

A lovely walk, and in the summer not too hot as there's plenty of shade from the trees. Worth considering I'd it's sweltering.

Quiet to visit during the week, barring any school groups. Reasonable, basic food options in the cafe. Range of animals- while the detailed biology is fascinating and you can see red squirrels up close, can seem quite simple and would only entertain a toddler (unless you want to properly read the info boards- which are good and express a deeper and very insightful understanding).
There is a lot of brown. Native-type species- brown, surroundings brown, mud, trees, poop...... Doesn't make for the best photos- though morally is much better than many of the other zoos.

Great day out for the family at this well designed and well maintained animal park. Explore the ancient woodland following a trail to meet British wildlife, including Lynx, Wolves, deer and Bears. Staff are on hand to explain the animals' stories, and feeding times present a great opportunity to see the beasts up close. A large playground area also offered provides additional fun for the children whilst parents have a sit down, although the cafe leaves a great deal to be desired. Definitely worth a visit.

Our second visit, much improved since we first visited, with more animals to see including bears, wolves, wildcats, otters, elk and horses. Good elevated walkways over the bear enclosure and the red squirrel enclosure.
Reasonably-priced food and a great play area with a drop slide and corkscrew slides, secret spaces, rope walk and wooden fort.

We so often take for granted our wildlife; at Wildwood, you get to see a real weasel, a stoat, a beaver - it reminds you that these creatures matter. our world would be diminished without them. The park is genuine forest, the staff are helpful and friendly; it's a humbling experience, one you won't forget.

Great place to take the family to see wild animals...

Great place to take the family to see wild animals in an environment as close to their natural habitat as possible. With it being so close to their natural environment some animals are difficult to spot or could possibly be missed if not timed right. The outdoor play area is fantastic so much to do and enjoy. All staff members were on hand to help and the arrival staff that direct you into a parking space kept everything flowing very well.

Really is a great place for a family day out.

Truly outstanding, family day out. I took my disabled father to the bear feeding experience and it was phenomenal. The staff made it all so special and I felt so welcome. They helped my dad get around and were so amenable and kind. The car park attendant even helped me with his wheelchair. The work the trust is doing is beyond exemplary. The animals are well cared for and the woodland setting just adds to the magic. I drove over 200 miles to visit Wildwood and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I cannot rave about this place enough. Just stop reading and visit. Now.

Great value for money, we had a brilliant time at Wildwood and would highly recommend. We spent 3 1/2 hours taking our time to appreciate all the animals and we learnt so much. The staff were friendly and helpful. For those who can appreciate Native species, wildlife and conservation, it is a great place to go.

We loved this place, such a nice atmosphere. The animals are in decent sized enclosures and looked well. Michael (I think was his name) was really good, chatting to all the public explaining the animals and answering questions he has a real good knowledge about the animals. The food was good and reasonable priced will definitely be returning and telling everyone about this quiet little gem of a place.

First visit today and we will be back. Natural environment for the animals and large enclosures. I loved the bear bridge and the Wolves Viewing platform. Both gave lots of opportunities to see the animals in their big enclosures without disturbing them.
I could have watched the otters all day.

Had a couple of nights near Canterbury over half term and picked up some leaflets from the tourist info of which this place was one. Decided our 6 year old would probably like it so had a day there. Initially I missed the entrance as it's behind some industrial units which all had signs so it was sign overload and we missed it but 1 U turn later we were in! First impressions were I admit not so good as the first animals were hedge hog, adder, etc of which no sign (this was October). Mmm I thought lots of British wildlife either nocturnal or hibernating so unseen. However getting further into the park and there were lots of animals to see and all seemed to have nice surroundings to be in. Of special note were the brown bears. They were fantastic to see and were rescued from Bulgaria where they were bred for hunting. They had a huge enclosure and the walkway above them was really well done. Worth a visit just for this ( though they will hibernate). After the animals it was on to the play park. The drop slide was something else, I even had a couple of goes! Rest of play park was good as well and daughter enjoyed that. We were there a good 4 to 5 hours so for the entry fee it was very good value. Recommended.

I have to be honest and give a fair review.

I have to be honest and give a fair review.
This place is very affordable and is a nice walk around the woods, but seriously do not expect to see much of the animals. We went yesterday and saw about 50 percent (if that), of the animals that were supposed to be in enclosures, even the 8 year old said "there are no animals". We bumped into other familys that stated "there is nothing in there".
Some of the animals we did find did look a bit depressed and as if they were pacing back and forth, I am not in a position to comment any further than that.
I will be honest and say the place felt under construction and maybe 60 percent complete - some animals missing, its kind of a bit bad to walk past enclosures empty (we did that quite a few times).
All in all you get what you pay for, when we saw the price and compared it to other local Zoo's then its a great deal, but when you leave you realise why it was so much cheaper.

This place is great for children who adore wildlife. There is so much to do here for the adventurous child. A great Park for the older children to play in, and a smaller Park for young ones. There is a large selection of animals to take in and enjoy. They do a season pass at a very reasonable price, this is somewhere to visit more than once.

About WILDWOOD TRUST

Wildwood Trust: A Centre of Excellence for British Wildlife Conservation

Wildwood Trust is a registered charity that was established in 2002, with the aim of conserving and protecting British wildlife. The trust opened its doors to the public in 1999, and since then has been dedicated to educating people about the importance of preserving our native species.

With two wildlife parks located in Canterbury, Kent and Escot, Devon, Wildwood Trust is home to over 200 animals from past and present. Both parks are set amidst beautiful ancient woodland where visitors can see bears, wolves, bison, deer, owls, foxes, red squirrels, wild boar lynx wild horses badgers beavers plus many more.

The trust's mission is to protect Britain's natural heritage by restoring its ecosystems and reintroducing native species into their natural habitats. Wildwood Trust believes that conservation should be an active process that involves not only protecting existing habitats but also creating new ones.

One of the key ways in which Wildwood Trust achieves this goal is through its captive breeding programs. The trust breeds a range of endangered species including water voles and hazel dormice with the aim of releasing them back into their natural habitats once they are strong enough to survive on their own.

In addition to captive breeding programs Wildwood Trust also works closely with other conservation organizations such as Natural England and Forestry England on habitat restoration projects across the UK. These projects involve planting new woodlands or restoring existing ones which have been damaged by human activity or disease.

Wildlife conservation education is another important aspect of Wildwood Trust's work. The trust offers a range of educational programs for schools colleges universities community groups families individuals etc., designed to teach people about British wildlife conservation issues such as habitat loss climate change pollution hunting poaching etc., as well as how they can help protect our native species through simple actions like recycling reducing energy consumption supporting local farmers buying organic produce etc.

The trust also runs various events throughout the year including guided walks talks workshops animal encounters etc., all aimed at raising awareness about British wildlife conservation issues while providing visitors with an opportunity to get up close personal with some amazing animals!

In conclusion Wildwood Trust is a fantastic organization that plays an important role in conserving Britain's natural heritage. With its focus on captive breeding programs habitat restoration projects education initiatives it truly deserves recognition for being one of the leading centers for excellence in British wildlife conservation!
