Great brewpub to pickup the seasonals and the widmer bros sig. Series beers. The galaxy barleywine is to die for, and the location is super convienent to the yellow line.

For years I have been going to the Widmer Ghausthause for the sausage plate with potato salad and sauerkraut. But this time, I find out that it was pulled from the menu. Kurt, Rob, seriously, put it back!
Bros abound in this once classic Portland brewspot. The food is now bar food and the beer is mediocre at best. Stay away unless you wear button up shirts and enjoy loud muisc
Widmer's Hef is amazing. I'd definitely recommend going here whenever you're in the area.
We were there for an alumni event. Everything was done well. The staff was courteous and attentive. The food was good and plentiful. Bartender did a great job. Would definitely have another event there.
Widmer is the most well known brewery in Portland. Their Hefeweizen is served nationwide. But you will find some beers here, that you won't find in any bottle or bar. Their seasonals are usually very good. Go here Mondays for happy hour pints & food. The pretzel is quite delicious. Though they also have an extensive menu. The atmosphere could be better. It feels more like a restaurant with a bar thrown in.
The beer and food we tried were fantastic. And the service was so friendly. Our group should have gone on a tour here.
Not open for lunch. Website didn't indicate it was closed for remodeling
Good beer for mass production, better than most Portlanders give them credit. The rotator IPA's can compete with the best of them.
I wanted to not like Widmer because I'm not a huge fan of the beers they bottle, but their beer on draft are anything but standard. Great use of botanicals, fruits and malt. Rotating seasonals, and small selection of collaborations, plus a welcoming tap room with large bar area
This place is a great spot to visit for the simple fact of being Widmer Brothers home brewery. Whether or not you believe their brand has "sold out" or not, they were still created and grown locally in Portland. Historically important to the present reputation Portland and the state of Oregon has for excellent microbreweries.
It's actually not as big as one would think coming from such a big name. It's small, yet intimate and has a lot of pictures from the beginning of the brothers ideas and first attempts.
The food was good, but didn't blow me away. Yet, brewery food isn't supposed to, is it? It's not expensive and you already know the beer is great.
Give it a try if you're visiting or a local! It's worth a visit.
No food, bartender was rude about it and did not have suggestions of where to get food to bring. Walked up the street to a great brewery with a Mexican restaurant next door.
I have been to this restaurant a few times, it is about half mile from my office. In general, the food is good and so is the beer.
Great service but over priced beer and food. Similar to McMenamins, They are running on reputation not the quality of the food nor the price of their beer.
I ordered a Lamb burger. It really tasted like beef. I did complain and the server did go to the manager who said it was lamb but would give me something else in its place. That was a nice offer, but I ate it. Trust me I eat a lot of lamb and beef and as stated this was not 100% lamb. I would give it a 20 % lamb and 80% beef. But the soups were fantastic, both the beer cheese and the spicy red pepper. (Which is why they did not get 2 stares, I do not plan on returning, too many other great restaurants.
Ok so you're hosting Oktoberfest at Pioneer Square right now, and guess what it's annoying as hell. How come? .. well maybe because Jane and John Q Public have no place to sit down right now, due to your obnoxious fence ...... you're just going to make everyone hate your lousy beer more as well as whatever humdrum bands are playing there ...... well thanks again ...... I'm gonna go buy a 6 pack of HUB now
The food and beer are great. During peak hours you can expect a bit of a wait but they do their best to get you in. Be sure to try some brews they are only serving here and not putting out for wide release.
This place USED to be a great place to eat. They closed the kitchen in Nov of 2017. Now it's strictly a growler fill & bar business, with limited snacks.
Good food. Very cool to try some other delicious beers that they don't bottle but widmere makes. HEFE one of my favorite beers.
some of the best pub food I've ever had the privilege of destroying. beer is excellent too.
Hate to go 3 stars here, but aside from the best heff you'll ever have and a Willy wonkaesque building, there's just not much else going on here.
Dependably great beer, tasty food, ok prices and fantastic, large brew-pub atmosphere.
Brat sandwich and a number 19 draft hit the spot! Nice clean, modern interior.
Amazing beer, want to know what's even better? If you do one of the tours you get to taste more than 3 kinds of beer (for free mind you, reservations required!) and a cool glass. Did I mention the tour is free? Even if they charged $10 per person we'd still want to go! ...more even!
We had great burgers and enjoyed the brewery tour. After coming back home to Tennessee, I tried for months to have their hefeweisen shipped to our house. My husband was slightly obsessed with it for awhile. Luckily, we have some local places carrying it now.
Really sharp! nice vizen with great service and menu.
This is a wonderful company that not only brews great beer but also has a wonderful heart. They donated beer to help raise money for a pit bull organization that works to find homes and fosters for a breed that is misunderstood. Thanks to their generosity the organization has been able to help its most recent acquisition of 7 pit bulls that need medical care and to get out of the cold.
I love you beer guys! And way, how you're doing it! See you at CBC show on April!
I think your Brrr is one of the finest beers I have ever had the pleasure of drinking, & I try a lot of different beers.... I just purchased the last (My 10th!) 12 pack that I can find anywhere in Minneapolis. I am sad! I wish this was a year-round offering. I would enjoy this ale on a hot summer night while grilling just as much as I do in the dead of Winter. Just an all around beautiful brew!
The place is awesome Iam from long beach California my 4th time to Oregon my 4th time there great selection of beers never get a beer you can get at home.Get a one time beer great tdd beer tour nice gift shop always satisfied.
Food was good. Beer was great. The place is nice but nothing out of the ordinary. A nice place to check out though.
If you go here your Rad ! Lots of beer ! Truck loads ! More than you can drink !
Very good selection if you want to drink Widmer and the food was excellent.
Great BEER ! Your burger week special Ginns Mercia made ! All beef and no camp
As Creator founder and co owner of Widmer Brothers Brewing I appreciate the feedback thanks
They sell beer, and good beer at that. So I say, what's not to like about that?
All of the beers are excellent, food and people are great too.
Great place for beer and good food. Nicole was a great waitress.
We used to go here for lunch but as may people have said the food is no longer part of the Widmer .The Chicago food cart guys are nice but a bad greasy cheese burger and a small amount of frise should not be $10.00. The rest of the menu did not look great. So many Oregon bars don't want to sell food but sorry when I drink I want to eat. If you have bad food I will get beer and drinks somewhere else . Russell St BBQ is not far from here and is great.
Great place for a local Portland Beer! Definitely a place to tour! A friendly atmosphere and positive vib.
