Paris6eme was amazed by the immensity of this whole food headquarter.
Amazing selection of vegetables, sauces and condiments to create the evenly dreamed salad.

Tons of dine-in options, tons of baked goods, gelato, great beer selection, tons of wine, lots of interesting fruits and veggies, an expansive selection of meats, coffees, cheeses, breads, this place is really a catch-all. Lots of parking in the underground lot and they have events here every so often up on the roof. Really, really cool place and a staple of Austin. I go here all the time just to walk around and have a brownie.
Wow... I was just expecting a regular Whole Foods, but this experience was so much more. Loved the open layout, bright lighting and selection. Couldn t resist getting a candle that smelled amazing... is this place turning into Target? In a good way
We stopped in here for some sides after getting take-out brisket from La Barbeque
Most people in Austin have a pretty good idea of what Whole Foods actually is. If you are looking for a quick tasty meal, Whole Foods is a pretty solid place. I would say the BBQ is the best quick BBQ you can get in Austin (only the Lamar location). The BBQ is smoked in house, and the brisket specifically is excellent. The meat counter is fairly extensive for a supermarket and the meat is typically super high quality. The employees working behind the counters such as the meat counter and the cheese counter are very knowledgeable, and will point you in the right direction.
My tips: If you are looking for a new cheese from the cheese counter, ask the employee behind the counter is you can sample whatever you are interested in. Most of the time they are totally ok with it, and you will then not end up with an expensive cheese you will hate.
Another tip, you can buy wine or beer and drink it on site. I personally like to buy a bottle of wine and go sit at a table on the roof.
Whole Foods can be just a grocery store, or it can be much more.
They have some amazing ready to eat meals for lunch, along with prepared while you wait options. Plus an everything under the sun grocery store.
Always a great lunch, fresh food, great outdoor seating.
High quality fresh produce & meat. Good brands of prepared food & snacks. Great bulk section w a wide variety of food from nuts, nut butter & dried fruit to candy & coffee.very High prices.
Love going there. I drive 2 hours from san antonio just to go there.
The bins were empty and I always love to visit for specialty items.
This whole food is nicer than the ones in NY. Brightly lit and clean. There's even food bar, small eatery and small bar inside.
One of the biggest whole foods across the country with a vast selection of products. First off the fresh produce selection is huge, they might have anywhere from 3 - 12 varieties of apples available at a time. A, this locations houses a great selection of vegan and vegetarian product.
For my meatatarian brotherin, there are literally tons of options here. Moreover, this whole foods houses sustainably harvested seafood. Furthermore they house a variety of pasture raised meats.
All things considered, the main attraction at this location are the top class chefs in house. You can pick out a cut of fish from the seafood department and have the chefs across the aisle whip it up into an amazing meal.
Good food selection and the salad bar is delicious. Prices are high but what do you expect it's Whole Foods?
Everything you need is here, they have a sushi, pizza, taco, subs, BBQ stand. Also have an alcoholic beverages bar, a coffee bar, juices and smoothies...salada and warm meals, olive bar. A higher end restaurant/ bar with custom made meal...I'm certain I'm forgetting something...oh..a seafood restaurant...
This place used to be a good restaurant type place. Now it is just off the shelf food with bad quality. Amazon is a tech company and they do not understand the food business.
Please get qualified food managers.
Bennett in the cosmetic section is rude. When I waved at him he looked at me disgruntled and said what? . He was not inclined to help. I asked him why he said what and he responded I didn t . He s not only rude he s also a liar. You lost a customer Whole Foods.
Takes forever to get in and out. What's that all about.
GREAT PLACE FOR EVERYTHIIIIIIING.
Mochi Ice cream bar and Dessert bar caught my attention!
Everything needed to distract 3 kinds on a Sunday afternoon
Spacious easy to navigate store. Like any Whole Foods you'd expect though.
This flagship Whole Foods is the best I've ever visited and surprisingly looks like the newest. Exceptional presentation and great vibe. Was amazed at the selection, variety, and choices. Much different than my home town store and they even serve wine and have a taco bar here. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Austin who wants to see a piece of history and enjoy great health conscious food.
The Whole Foods here is so impressive...wish I had this one back home. Taco Alley and the rest of the prepared foods are awesome.
This is the original Whole Foods and the best of all of them. Great selection of healthy, organic food. There are some items that are great to buy at Whole Foods and others that are not. The prepared meals are not good.
Great store. Perfect for a snack, or for your weekly shopping. Underground parking keeps your car cool too.
I hate admitting I like them. They are over priced, but they have very exclusive stuff I want.
Austin store is a great place to shop, eat and hang out
You can't go wrong with Whole Foods! When it comes to eating here, there is a good selection to choose from. As far as groceries, I am a big fan of their produce and meat selections, so that is always a go to every time I grocery shop. The customer service here is always great and the store is kept pretty well-maintained. I always leave satisfied when I come here!
So many great choices in food. Excited to see what Amazon is going to do!
The mother ship of all Whole Foods! Amazing selection and fresh produce. The salad bars offer a wide variety of salad fixings and prepared food, both hot and cold. Lots of samples to try too! Numerous restaurants located inside the store. The fresh seafood is my favorite. You can also get BBQ and beer/wine. I shop here all the time!
Products seem to be of high quality, but the security guard in the front parking lot is someone who can ruin a trip to this store, or in our case an entire weekend. My family and I recently met our friends there who had thrown a slumber party for their daughter and after we ate and the kids ice skated, my wife went to retrieve our daughter's slumber party stuff at the hostess' car in the front lot. "Clarence" pounced on her as she left our friends vehicle and rudely accused her of parking and walking to another business / maybe even walking away with children that weren't hers. (My daughters were with her as well) Steer clear of this lot because this man's a bit psycho, definitely a loose cannon, should be working after hours and not around people, and definitely not in front of a business that wants clients to come back again someday.
Love this place! I recommend anything, but the vegan burger
This is by far the best Whole Foods I've ever visited. Their to-go items are fantastic (especially the desserts!) and they have the most food stations I've ever seen in a Whole Foods store. The parking deck is THE BEST designed parking deck I've ever seen. Lights above each space will indicate whether or not it is available, and there are signs around the parking deck that show how many spaces are available on each level (in real time).
Everything in the store is kept fairly neat and tidy, which is impressive given the amount of traffic the store receives. The wait times at the registers, even during busy times like a Sunday evening, are never too bad.
The Mecca of all Whole Foods. GReat food and products.
Cheaper ingredients keep finding their way into this premium market. Products like potatoe chips, chicken salad and 365 chocolate are no longer premium quality...but they do have better guacamole than HEB
Such a nice experience compared to a regular grocery. If you are careful it doesn't have to be that expensive either. Their 365 brand is reasonable and don't purchase everything that looks good, because everything does. Pick and choose. The trattoria and the salad bar are wonderful, I eat there often. Knowing that all the meat at least meets the base line of humane treatment makes it easier to shop the butcher's market. The coffee is not my favorite, but the wine selection and prices make up for it!
If you didn't know, there is a small playground with some shady seating on the plaza. Little hidden gem! I've even had friends have baby showers there ;-).
The mother ship? Not for funk, for hipsters? The next level burger is inside.
Whole Foods gets 2 stars based purely on location. It is conveniently located. Don't mistake that for the same thing as being convenient in any absolute sense. Your experience here will start with hunting for a parking spot. There are frequently some available above ground, but it still takes forever to get to them because of the poor design of the place. If you have to go below ground, it's like navigating a maze.
Once you get INTO the store it is less of a grocery store than it is a restaurant. Around most of the outside of the store are food counters, which have potentially good food. I have only been to the BBQ counter, which is marginal. The others I can't say anything about.
The actual grocery store is so poorly organized, shopping is very difficult. For example, there is cheese in three different locations, with some selections only available in one area. So you might have to go to three different areas to get the cheese you want, assuming they have it at all. There is a wide selection, to be fair, but I have looked in vain for different, relatively common cheeses like Oaxacan, several times.
Speaking of not being able to find what you're looking for, for the third visit in a row I couldn't get everything on my list. The first time, it was a beer from a local brewery that only makes four beers. They had the other three however, which for a company that touts its local focus, is strange. One would think they would carry all four if only for completeness. The second time, it was a fry/candy thermometer. I realize it's not a cooking supply store, but they had oven thermometers and meat thermometers, so they obviously carry thermometers in general. And finally, they were out of eggplant "for the day," more than four hours before closing. I realize it is supposed to be "fresh" but judging from the rock hard avocados, they aren't above stocking multiple days inventory at one time, so they should really never be out of anything for which there isn't some supply side issue.
I would also like to note that the bakery is both more extensive and of much higher quality at Central Market than at Whole foods. I find this hard to believe, since Central Market is a subsidiary of a traditional grocery store, while Whole Foods is the whole company, not a secondary focus. Whole foods should be able to put out a superior product, not a second rate one like the baguette I bought the other day.
Finally, the employees. Most are quite friendly and willing to help out, but as other reviewers have said, some can be less than helpful. Hopefully the experience of others differs from mine, but the only reason I go here is because it is on my way to and from work, and the next closest grocery store is fifteen minutes out of my way each way. So good job, Whole Foods, you picked a good place to locate your flagship store, but that is about all I can say for the place.
I love coming here for mething's, lunch and food ideas. Wss in love with the register gal with blue hair. My favorite thing about whole foods is that they let people be who they are. Totally support any business that does that
Place is huge. Multiple restaurants and bars inside. Clean organized and great selection.
I love coming here for pizza and more when I'm walking around town, they have a very large selection.
In love the half soup and sandwich deal at the deal!
Magnificent and founded in Austin. Love that so much.
Love Whole Foods , what is there not to love here. Healthy food? Check. Need shampoo and bath bombs? Check. Need another Amazon echo in your home? Check. Don't have time to make dinner tonight but still want to feed your family something healthy ? Check!
From all the other Whole Foods in austin SLamar location is still my favorite :)
Runs really well with Amazon Prime. Found everything I needed. They have JustEgg!
Good if you don't have food at your house, they serve breakfast lunch and dinner.+Even better you can pick out the food that you like.
Just came down to Austin Texas for a week from the Maryland and found a great place in Whole foods to get a chair massage while grocery shopping .
Great place for natural products. Staff is very helpful. We love to come again.
I used to love to come here and get the sandwiches, tacos, pizza bow not anymore. I literally only come here for a specific rose spray now because I can't find it anywhere else. The pizza is 7 dollars for two slices. The sandwiches are gone and the taco bar isn't as quality as it used to be. I was very dissatisfied the last couple times I got a taco from here. They were cold and the potatoes were soggy and I ate it as soon as it was served. Just not what I expected from Whole foods. I used to go and have a glass of wine at the bar they had at the front or at the 6th Street sea food bar but it's not as homey as it used to be, and the produce is overpriced for what they say is "quality'' you're better off spending your money at HEB or Central Market.
Great place for shopping and a wide variety of in dining options.
Great spot for casual meetings and a quick bite to eat.
The mothership. Didn't think I'd enjoy visiting a grocery store, but this one has everything from bars to restaurants to juice bars. Stop by if you're in the area.
Very good deli sandwiches and natural juices, but pricey.
Just what I needed to feed the machine I bought some and GEET SUM!
The fish bar is the best! My favorite is the barramundi on polenta cakes topped with arugula.
I mean its HQs for WF... so this is a great grocery store. Usually pretty busy but everything is pretty efficient in this store. They also have items in this store they don't have in others, anywhere.
This is one of the best Whole Foods locations I've visited. Maybe it has something to do with their headquarters bring here in Austin...
This place is the mothership!! Definitely an experience going here
