This is the Whole Foods headquarters store that everyone loves.
The service was more pleasant than the Manhattan stores, and the people who worked were more comfortable. As expected, it is the head office store.
As an aside, whole food kids service was fresh fruit.
Love Whole Foods? Then check out their flagship store in Austin!!
They have nothing but the best of all things Whole Foods here!!
Went in for a sandwich for lunch. Hadn't been in for about 10 years. I thought it would be like the WF on Post Oak in Houston. Both have underground parking, but the similarities end there. Austin seem to be packed to the gils with inventory, to the point of claustrophobia. Compared to the elegant dining area at Post Oak the kindergarten stools at Austin were really bad, the area was cramped and uninviting. Sandwich (turkey with brie) wasn't any good either. On the positive side I did find a parking spot in downtown Austin!
Whole Foods is my favorite! They have a huge selection of awesome foods. There are a bunch of little food shops inside. I always have a good experience here. The quality of food is great, lots of organic food products. The place is very well kept and staff is always helpful and friendly.
Parking is a nightmare, groceries are overpriced, has a bar in the back in case you need a break from the hipsters.
But the bottled tea (ahem, unsweetened tea) or tea beverages selection are almost non existent, knocked one star off. And what? No Sushi rolls to go? Another star off. But large inviting store, still with good food options
So much food! This store is giant and has a ton of offerings, plus plenty of places to sit and have a bite, too!
This is the best Whole Foods you will ever go to! Trust me I am still setting low expectations by saying this. This Whole Foods has everything you could imagine. Of course it has the organic and unique products (and high prices), but coming to this whole foods is like an experience!
First there are the dining options. There is a sushi bar, wine tasting bar, BBQ stand, sandwich stand, taco stand, stir fry stand, a noodle restaurant, and the most opulent selection of salad bar options you have ever seen. I must've spent 30 min trying to decide what I wanted for dinner.
There's also a trail mix and peanut butter section. You can mix and match to create your own trail mix or make a tub of the flavors that have been pre-made.
Also, on my way out I noticed a sign for the events that are hosted at the Whole Foods. Tomorrow night they are hosting a free yoga class outside. There are so many great things about this Whole Foods and you need to check it out for yourself!
Flag ship store is amazing! Everything you could every want in a whole foods.
I shop here at least twice a week. Most trips I they have a good selection of produce, though it can be hit or miss. The meat selection in the butcher case is always good. We love the Steak Tenderloin they carry. Alfredo usually helps me and he is super great and friendly, but everyone I ve dealt with has been helpful. Nice selection of most things, even during the pandemic.
I am a Whole Foods junkie. I love shopping here. Usually I just buy basics, but sometimes I splurge. They have everything you could possibly ask for, and it's all good food. Organic, non GMO, non processed foods. There is a salad bar, and food you can take to go.
We have always made a trip into Austin to visit this Whole Foods Market for the sole reason of stocking up on their freshly air rosted coffee. Unfortunately since the start of the pandemic, they have stopped air roasting the coffee and still haven't brought this service back. Very disappointing, as their sir roasted coffee is truly the best.
A giant of a store. The flagship of wholefoods has anything available for your craving. The prepared foods section has to be my favorite with a hot food bar that changes themes through the month to keep the cravings fresh. But by far my favorite thing is the team members. Always willing to help you with any small need.
awful service. Carol called me awful names and the grass is fake. NEVER come here.
Great food, friendly service and wonderful atmosphere. In the summer they do stargazing yoga on the roof and in the winter they put up an ice skating rink! This is more than a grocery, it's a community center :)
Always a great experience, never had a negative time, interaction with staff and almost never went home without something I was looking for
As much as it pains me to write this, this location has taken a serious dive since the Amazon takeover. I've been going here a few times a week for an eternity and it's depressing to watch the negative trend.
1. The PEOPLE. Staff is universally lower quality. From the bearded gentleman working meat without a hairnet to the guy with gold glasses working hot food that hates his job, I see daily examples that employees are no longer the cheery, environmentally conscious type and are now just any retail employees that would take any job. They're not all bad - - the vets in seafood are awesome - - but it's noticeable every time I visit.
2. The PRICING games are tiring. "we're slashing prices!" *weeks later * "just kidding, here's 10% off for sale items, but all prices have been silently raised by 20%!" it seems like my bill has steadily crept up for the past year as some nerd with an algorithm tests price elasticity.
3. They've increased the amount of self serve hot bar items while decreasing the amount of employees serving the reasonably priced hot vegetables. I frequently find myself trying to track down an employee, waiting for new batches of veggies, or waiting in a long line. To boot, the hot food quality is lower across the board. Veggies come out without seasoning sometimes.
I love Amazon, but I miss the old Whole Foods.
If you live in Austin and don't know about Whole Foods, you're living under a rock. This place lives up to its name - slightly overpriced natural and organic groceries, but they carry a lot of stuff you have a hard time finding at a usual grocery store. They also have a large selection of ready-to-go food, like sandwiches, sushi, and the like.
Very nice variety of selection on grocery items, offers tons of organic and healthy options. The fresh chopped beef bbq sandwiches with jalapenos are definitely recommended.
The whole experience is pretty jarring the first time you visit. There is a lot to do and see. Add that on top of the swiftness or regulars speeding through to get their groceries and get out.
However, there is a good selection of organic foods at a reasonable price. There is also a vast selection of food to go, making this both a grocery store and a restaurant. Finally there is plenty of parking.
All in all this is a solid store that offers quite a bit. It's a shame that shopping here means supporting Amazon.
Great selection of healthier food stuffs, but at an inflated price.
Clean shop with a knowledgeable and helpful staff. They aren't giving it away, but a very high quality place to buy your food
This isn't just a grocery store, it is an Experience!
Alfredo and J-Dub from meat department are so nice and friendly!
Probably the most complete Whole Foods in Austin. The wall of Kombucha is great. This is a place you go to look for hard-to-find ingredients NOT value.
The coolest Whole foods! So big, easy parking, what more could you want?
The flagship. Awesome wine/beer section. Great produce. Come just to browse.
Honestly, the Whole Foods food selection is so amazing that I don't mind spending my money here at all. I mainly make a beeline straight for their dessert area, but it is so worth it every single time. Whole Foods has such a wide array of different desserts, ranging from smaller things like cupcakes, eclairs, and tarts, to the big and sharable things like their cakes. Everything always looks so appealing so its hard for me to hold back on what I get but my number one recommendation if you ever go to Whole Foods is to get their Berry Chantilly cake. It is literally the best cake I have ever had and I always try to eat it like 4 times a year because its so amazing. The selections of their other food is also great and tries to be health conscious although they fall short of that at times. This place is pretty costy, not going to lie, but I feel like you are really getting your monies worth when you come here. They also host events like yoga or ice skating on the roof top so it'd be great to come check them out for that as well!
Great selection of groceries and restaurants. The seafood restaurant special was blackened salmon and happened to be the best blackened salmon I've ever had. Upscale dishes delivered hot right inside a grocery store, who knew? Friendly staff, clean store, excellent parking. This location sets the standard for all grocery stores everywhere.
Accomdating , places sit and eat, free parking underground
Fresh food, great customer service all the time, and wide selection of cheese and chocolate!
This place was okay because it was not not okay. To clarify, there were groceries, other items that were not groceries, and additional fast food choices for slow food choosers. There were people too. And a playground. It was okay: no epiphanies or hypophanies, no spiritual awakenings or bodilial dormancies, and little or no -/- great or much ambivalence. The cold brew was nice after a bike ride.
This place is massive!!! One of the largest beer fridges and food to-go selections. The locals are lucky.
I been going to this store for 4yrs now and Everytime I walk in I have eyes on me like I'ma steal something,I never stole nothing from no one and the so call security guards thts there, stare at me too,so I get offended and I pull out my phone and record them,I understand there is cameras every where in this place, why stare at me and make me feel uncomfortable..other than that it's a good place for me too shop cus I like too eat healthy and they fruits there is excellent..dnt get me twisted,I love whole foods, but the racially profiling needs too stop with me,I can't speak for nobody else..
Tons of fresh, healthy products and the staff are very helpful and pleasant.
Since Amazon bought them they've probably lost 2 Stars worth, but it's still great.
When I first came to Austin I visited this Whole Foods, I was in shock of its size and ready to eat section (hot bar, deli, etc.) this location is always crazy busy no matter the time or day but their employees are always friendly and helpful and their hot bar selection rotates some pretty delicious options! They also have a BBQ place across from the meat department that has yummy brisket especially for a grocery store. They have great options for seating if you want to grab a bite and hit the patio just outside the food bar or the upper deck seating which not everyone knows about.
But, my absolute favorite part about this location is their Vegan Big John cookies, holy cow these cookies rock my world and you can only get them at this location! I m not a vegan and I can t tell that these delicious morsels use vegan ingredients.
Seriously, best cookie I ve had to date in the great state of Texas!
This review is solely based on there in store made fresh orange juice !! For the love of god do not encourage them to continue making it by continuing to buy it. It was the biggest let down since Disney bought Star Wars....
Home office and show case of all things Whole Foods. From perfectly stacked fruits and vegetables to food stations with chefs preparing the fresh ingredients. I like bar lamar (daddy day care) to grab an ever rotating taps great beer to walk around. you know it is a good grocery store when everything looks great tastes great and your cart has a cup holder. Tip: Park underground. No sun heat and always a space. Surface parking is never worth it.
The salad bar doesn t disappoint. Fresh salads, with much more selection than other places. Good quality, fresh and delicious!
Love the flagship Whole Foods! They have so much to offer! It's clean, people are friendly, and there are like 7 restaurants in the store! Fantastic vegan options and the juice bar is my fav!!!
I enjoy this location ample parking, ample aisle room, variety of selection with new products, and best of all have my favorite apple chips in bulk. Cashiers are very hospitable, kudos to mine today at first station near concierge station. Only downside is limited number of restrooms.
Blown away by this incredible place!! It's more of a small metropolis than a simple grocery store. I was very impressed by their bakery, seafood counter, and salad bar. But there is much, much more.
After a 13 hour terrible day of air travel, I arrived at Whole Foods to pick up and ordered organic turkey. Lance an employee At the conceirge desk helped me even though it was closed and really save the day
Love the outdoor dining area and ice skating rink (free for children under 3 and skate rental is too!) My two year old loves it. Definitely the best whole foods I've been to
The most secure shopping venue anywhere on the face of the planet. Also the place where a Jeff Bezos lookalike (allegedly) told me about his possible infatuation with the fictional serial killer Kevin Wendall Crumb. But hey it's not like either of those guys had as much money as Jeffery Epstein right? 4.25 stars but only when I'm there to keep people safe presumably, otherwise I guess Alexa will do that. 4.00 stars.
Many things I love about this store I could literally live here. They carry all types of organic and vegan items. They have a juice bar, miniature dine in restaurant, salad/fruit/ hot food bar, soup varieties, rotisserie chicken, pizza kitchen, and barbeque kitchen. Not to mention they offer beauty, baby, and home items. They've got indoor and outdoor seating with rad views of the store or the Austin streets. Anything you need this store's got it. Sometimes there is high volume in the store but the express check outs are seriously fast. It's easy to spend a pretty penny here. They've got good parking space and on the lower parking garage level exit they've got a shelf full of Austin reads.
Thank you whole foods.
Is it weird that we take out of town guests here? Most people we take here for the first time are overwhelmed by it. I think this place is awesome. There are lot of organic and natural product sold here. Fresh local goods. The corporate location is huge. I wish they sold an all you can eat pass where you can eat at any of the food stations. The BBQ is solid. The dessert options are endless. You can also find a taco station, juice station, pizza, seafood, and Italian as some of the dining choices. You can go here with a bunch of friends for dinner, go your separate ways and order, and convene by the tables. The alcohol selection is also extensive. I can see why people call this place Whole Paycheck. I always spend a large amount of cash on junk. Imagine if we did our grocery shopping here solely?
Love me some Whole Foods! Great place for groceries or to grab a quick lunch.
Absolutely wonderful! Vast selection of fresh fish meat veggies and fruit. Also indoors restaurants where you can eat Asian, fresh sushi or sea food while enjoying a glass of wine. I was a little overwhelmed at first, took me a while to get adjusted and figure out where everything is, but it was worth it.
Lots of fresh organic food and I didn't have to cook today
Biggest wholefoods I've ever been in, there's even a sit down sushi restaurant! Aside from that, food selection is great and what you would expect.
Great assortment and never overly busy. Convenient parking and very clean.
This is my favorite Whole Foods location. Next best is the one at the Domain.
What's not to love except the prices here? Something for anyone and more than enough for everyone.
I work close by and I can't resist the salad bar at lunch. Also LOVE all the fish soups. Win.
Sunday lunch time express check out lane had only one cashier. It took exorbitant amount of time to get through the express checkout.
So I work right across the street from the flagship Whole Foods so it's an understatement to say I go there a lot. We've dubbed it Whole Paycheck as it can definitely get pricey. After going so many times, I have found a way around a less expensive lunch and the variety is one of the perks. They recently added a dim sum cart which makes a nice change but I'm still missing that Thai food. It literally has everything else you could be craving. There are also these great "health starts here" stickers on food that make me think eating the chocolate peanut butter banana pudding is good for me so there's that.
The home base! Quite a lovely experience all around.
Great place. Great products. It is however a little pricey, but totally worth it. The quality of the produce was incredible, especially the fruit.
