We had a great time rafting with Whitewater Challengers over Labor Day Weekend. Our guide Nick was awesome! I was very nervous before the trip as this was my first experience rafting but Nick made me feel comfortable and welcome. Would certainly recommend this company to friends/family. I would suggest skipping the post rafting "bbq" if you are staying in the area. If you took a day trip to North River the bbq may be nice before heading home on a long drive.

Great day trip for families!

Great day trip for families!
The guides here are fun and engaging and it's obvious they genuinely care about making this a great experience for their guests. Roberto, especially, was so awesome and his presence there was one of the highlights of our trip! We had a 9:40 check-in, which went really smoothly, especially for a busy Sunday in August. Roberto kept us entertained and laughing on the bus ride while making sure we all understood the safety rules. He also gave us useful tips on how to avoid getting stuck on a rock. (Who knew you should lean in towards and not away from the rock!)
Once we got there, we were given a brief instruction on paddling techniques and we were on our way! The scenery was beyond beautiful and the water was very clean. The rapids were fun but definitely not too challenging for families with children. Everyone was having a super fun time and as such, was so friendly to each other!
If I had to give any one negative, it would be that we were part of a very large group of rafters and we were towards the front nearly the entire time, which meant we had to do A LOT of stopping and waiting for the rest of the group to catch up. I feel like if maybe we had gone at a less busy time this wouldn't have been an issue at all.
I highly recommend Whitewater Challengers for your next rafting trip! I also recommend sporting some padded bike shorts if you have a boney butt like mine. LOL It'll make for a much more comfortable ride!

We did the upper potion of the river and was lacking. Class 1-3, but more like 1&2. Only good thing is that the guides are in their own boats. This is good for beginners, I don't recommend if you want something more challenging. Fun if you like throwing buckets of water at your friends. I was bored.

We had a great experience...being our first whitewater trip. The guides paired us up with another family and that really made it fun. Others have advised us to go on dam release day and i have to say that really made the trip more exciting. we went to the gorge the next day and the water level was low so it would have been difficult to raft the water. Our guides were terrific, Kevin, especially. We had a large group and they did an outstanding job of making sure that we all stayed together, even with other large groups on the river. We bought the premade lunches and they were very basic, but ithe saved me the hassle of buying my own stuff to put it together. This outfit is very well organized and most of the people really like what they do. I have to agree the customer service people are really on the rude side. I found them to have very little patience on answering questions and when it took me some time to dig out my credit card, the woman got impatient with me.

I have done canoeing, kayaking and white-water rafting on various rivers dozens of times. Given its proximity to NY/Phil, the Lehigh is a great choice and there a few outfits in the area that do good work.

On our most recent trip, I took 13 BoyScouts on a rainy, spring "Dam Release" weekend (when the water moves and one is less likely to hung up on rocks) and we had a GREAT time.

The entire process, including the fairly-priced items at the snack bar and store, the cleanliness of the camp-site and other facilities, the obvious care and professionalism of the many staff, make me recommend Whitewater Challengers to anyone.

The process of camping, checking in, getting equipment, riding the buses, getting into the rafts was well thought out and ran well. A lot of preparation went into this River guides were skilled and professional . . . handling the various skill levels and ensuring we had fun, but were also safe (I've been on rivers before and Class III rapids can get crazy, very quickly).

Great value for the money and time. Good equipment and wonderful, caring staff. A well-run organization

went of a trip with scouts. they allowed water guns for the biger rafts and we had a big war on the water. water was cold i fell in but quickly got back in because they told us what to do on the bus. they took pictures of us also. but re apply sunscreen if you burn easy! my nee was really bad after it. 2 boats crashed but everyone was okay our boat took 2 people it was crouded but still ok. i highly recomend this place they sell items like shirts and water guns at their shops. All and all was fun and i recomend

The whole experience was done well. The only issue was not giving the rafters helmets. 3 people that I knew of fell in. With all the rocks in the water, you would think that was a no brainier. The guide's were good. Many rafters were novices and needed more instructions. They do a lot to make it a very enjoyable experience. Their site is full of amenities that fit the bill. Would I go again, possibly. Should you go, yes. Bring your own Helmut. Have very good water shoes.

Lots of fun, but they really have to work on the cleanliness of the bathrooms. Was considering camping here but the bathrooms are so gross I just couldn't. But the actual water rafting is so much fun, especially with bigger groups.

Great time..! We had a staff member (Sarah) ride down the river with us and she was so helpful and fun. Sarah gave her 100% to give us an awesome experience and we all had a blast. Our river guide Trey was SUPER.! Great personality and very informative. We will be doing this again.!

We had an amazing trip on the upper gorge. The booking and check-in process was smooth and easy. Make sure you listen to the river guides simple directions. The day was incredible and scenic. It was a great intro to white water rafting. Can't wait to try their NY location.

Went on the upper section of the Lehigh river which is supposed to be a 2-3 difficulty. It was fun and enjoyable. Best for novice groups as it is still challenging and take things very slowly, even stopping the whole group when one raft is stuck on a rock. Not that much time to jump in the water and the instructors can be a little over-bearing, though this is just to keep the group moving and avoiding obstacles. Some of the instructors were very fun and helpful with tips. Good for newbie groups looking for some easy rapids. Bad for people who know what they are doing and bored by waiting for novice groups.

Worst rafting trip ever and I m an experienced raf...

Worst rafting trip ever and I m an experienced rafter/kayaker. Was on the premier trip on July 21st. There were way to many boats on the water. Checking in, getting our life jackets and traveling to the river was fine. From that point forward the trip went down hill. We had 20 boats in our grouping. There was a second launching of 20 boats from the same vendor plus another 20 from a different vendor all trying to use the same water at the same time. We unfortunately were in one of the first boat that launched. We were immediately directed to the bank to wait for our entire group to get together which took over an hour. Once we started down the river the cluster-F started. 3 of the 4 guides we had were excellent, Art, Brian and Catherine, didn t meet the other, very helpful and deserve at a minimum double pay for having to deal with this trip. There was no organization going down the river with so many boats. The guide would tell us stay to the right or left and go single file. With 60 boats in the same waterways there is no single file. All there was was boat after boat on the rocks blocking the path thru. There was no room to paddle as boat after boat crashed into us from the side the back and every direction possible. It was more than dangerous. It was miserable. I tried to convince first timers that whitewater rafting can be a great deal of fun and that they should try it somewhere else with guided rafts so they could experience what rafting should be like and is at everyplace else. Out time assigned to checkin and get out life jackets was 12:25. We did not get back until 730ish. Long and miserable day. Stay away from this place and this river as it is way too crowded to be safe or fun.

My son found a tick on his leg because they were told not to go to the right and stay to the left and then in the middle of that, there was an island so we were told to stay to the left. The water was pulling my child to the right into the island which would have forced them to go to the right and no one on the river helped them for at minimum 5 minutes. They grabbed onto trees because they thought it would be very bad if they go the other way. Strongly don't recommend. They don t do well with large groups and most unhelpful people I ve ever heard of

We were a group of 6 and joined the morning white water rafting. Check-in process for rafting was quick and well-directed. I like how organized it was. We had so much fun. The waves were awesome. I recommend friends and families to check out this place and all activities they offer. I would definitely go back again for other activities before winter comes. Thank you Whitewater Challengers.

First time going . Weather was great and check in was well organized . Their did seem to be quite a bit of waiting around prior and during the tour. The biggest issue was our tour guide Jake who was very unpleasant from the start and was literally yelling at our group for getting stuck on a rock. We paid good money for the trip and to get treated like a child was very upsetting. All of the other guides were great and friendly and helpful. Jake shouldn t be in the service industry if that s how we was acting with members of group and other groups on the tour.

My family and I had a blast this weekend of August 1 as guests of Whitewater Challengers. Our white water rafting activity was scheduled at 8:10am on Saturday morning. All the staff were very professional and welcoming, check in was swift and easy breezie. Most importantly they respected the CDC guidelines dealing with Covid-19. There was a small group of us, that accompanied a Girl Scouts group of 26. Our group guides Tom, Nate, and Jim were awesome and gentle with us as we navigated down the river. Although it was very difficult for them because we had to keep pace with children who kept hitting or getting stuck on the rocks...lol which slowed us down almost every 30 minutes. But we managed and had a blast. Can't wait to do it again!!!!

Fun, affordable experience! My friends and I paid for the package where we stayed at the campgrounds and also did the white water rafting. The staff was excellent, the campgrounds were equipped with food and essentials, and overall it was a great experience.

This place was amazing! It was super organized and very clean. They clean and sanitize all vests and wetsuits. They also do a great job with practicing social distancing. The guides do an excellent job with showing you how to raft and make it fun and hilarious at the same time.

Staff was singing and entertaining. Rober, Nate, and Alissa were great!

As nervous as me and my friends were the guides made us feel like professionals in no time. Great Service, great prices, and a great experience overall. Everyone must check it out!

A large group of people go boating is a very special experience. You will get wet when you are ready to go. From head to toe ^ _ ^ It is best to bring a raincoat and swimming shoes. They have a meal to eat. If you bring anything on board, be sure to seal it with a plastic bag first, or it will get wet completely.

Booked a bachelor party rafting trip over a month prior to the actual trip, for 9 guys. They call me the day before (less than 18 hrs) before the trip and let me know the dam release schedule has changed and the rafting will now only be a level 1. I was little disappointed, but it is understandable.

Need to let them know in 2 hours! if I would like to cancel and get a full refund. And they can also book us for their other activities, but no discount or compensation will be provided.

Alright no problem. I talked to couple of guys and booked the 9am paint-balling that was offered to me. I get there and the people don't know that we were booked for paint balling. We wait around for a little and they say that it will start at 10am. So we wait another 45 mins and they come and tell us the paint balling is canceled cause they couldn't get enough refs for the game and they will offer us a full refund or we can play at 1pm.

We drove from NY/NJ and at this point have very limited options, so we decided to play at 1pm. They still refused to compensate us for the horrible customer service - no discount on the game, no additional pelets, nothing!!

We come at 1pm and the guy running it didn't seem to want to take us out. He asked us if we want to reschedule and then made us wait over 30 mins for another group to show up.

We get to the paint balling place and it is out in the woods. It is definitely for more experienced paintballers who have mastered the man made courses. There are lot more factors you need to aware of - watch out for rocks & ditches, the refs can hardly see who is shot, the boundaries are not clearly defined etc.

The guy running it did the best he could, but if you want something more organized Skirmish is so much better and it is the same price.

I also saw the ziplining course and that is joke!

Definitely not worth it to go to this place. The customer service is horrible!!

Family of 5 did Hudson River Gorge trip and had a great day. The whole operation was organized from start to finish and could tell that the staff was centered around making sure customers had a great experience. Our guide, Nick, was great. Couldn't have asked for anything more. He was very passionate and enthusiastic about rafting plus knowledgeable about the river and could tell he was excited to share the world of rafting with us and wanted to make sure that we had a great day. We all had a great time!

We took our Boy Scout Troop camping for 2 nights with whitewater rafting on the Saturday. They had a great experience, great camp site and a great time on the rafts. The Scoutmaster were appreciative of warm showers, clean toilets, great coffee, experienced and patient staff. Troop 68 will be coming back. Thank you

It was our first time rafting with this place and it was great. Grounds were clean, staff was friendly and everything was on time.

When we got on the water, the guides made sure we all knew what we needed to do and kept us from going in the rocky part to avoid getting stuck. The lunch stop was fun and perfectly timed.

The only thing I would like to see changed is the request that no music/speakers be brought on the rafts. A group played loud music and sang loud the entire time which was annoying. We're out in nature for a reason....to get away form all the noise. And just because you like that song/artist/genre, doesn't mean the other 40 or so people do. This made the 5hr trip not as great as it could have been.

Great experience with our girl scout troop. Nice campsites, clean bathroom, friendly staff. The busses and rafts were in nice condition, the instructors were great...kept us safe and made it fun, with great personality and humor. We cooked on our fire, but the option to buy meals at pavilion was nice. I will come.back here with my family some.day! Wonderful family friendly laid back fun.

These guys do a good job and that's why I am giving them 5 stars but just be aware that it's a 45 minute bus ride from their base to the drop off and while you may not mind it on your way to the drop off, coming back is a completely different ball game because you'll be soaking wet!

They were overcrowded, too many people, ran out of rafts, made our group of 14 paid patrons squeeze onto 2 rafts, (7 to a raft) making it too heavy to row, hard to control, too much weight causing a lag, extra paddling, & getting caught on rocks frequently. Just an all over bad day, not to mention their allowance of super soakers by patrons, was not only childish & annoying, but very disruptive in an already risky environment, not allowing the chance to enjoy the experience, out in nature. Wouldn't recommend or return.

My boyfriend and I went rafting yesterday down the Indian and Hudson River. We had a really good group with us. Our guide, Nick was absolutely amazing! I hope the company realizes how privileged they are to have him working for them as a guide. I could tell how passionate he was about what he does. He has inspired me to keep gaining more experience rafting. In fact we had such a good time, that when we come back (hopefully next month) we only want Nick as our guide. He was so professional and easy going. I feel like I learned a lot from him. He is very friendly and had a lot of valuable information. The company does a good job keeping safety the number priority at all times. They supply a life jacket, helmet, and paddles. They also gave us a snack which was surprisingly good and that now gives me an idea for future camping/hiking snacks. The company also takes photos of you while you're on the river. The cost for the flash drive is $45, but we split the cost with the group. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the photos too. All in all, this was by far the best rafting trip I've ever experienced. If you're looking for a quality, fun, yet professional experience on a white rafting trip, this is the place to go! And go with Nick!!!!

Great experience, very well organized, you can rent or buy all the necessities there reasonably.
Our group did the premier option, it was a good challenge, great exercise, the sun is strong on the open lake so cover up, water temperature at 64 was refreshing late june, and you will get wet. guides are great always there when you need them on their fast kayaks.

We did rafting first time in our life on 8/16/2019 and 3 of us didn't l know swimming. But the instructors on the trip were so knowledgeable and made us real comfortable with the whole trip. Our raft got stuck few times in the rocks and was taken out of it by instructor.
5 * and I would really recommend whitewater challengers.

I have been rafting on the Lehigh for almost 15 years and have used most of the outfitters organizing trips on the river. In my opinion Whitewater Challengers is the best. They have a great facility and an attentive and helpful staff.

Yesterday on went on an inflatable kayak trip with them. The trip was AMAZING! While rafting with a group can be a lot of fun if you have a group of 6 or more, if you are just one or two people, especially with experience, it can be annoying being in a raft with people not as serious about whitewater. The individual or tandem kayaks are the perfect answer. You are still in a group, but you have complete control of your own kayak and you can get the most of the whitewater. Our guides, Ricky, Oakley and Katherine were great, Ricky even took us "surfing" where we could hang on a wave. The river was great with all the rain and the dam release.

I also wanted to add a special thank you to Rachel for facilitating the weekend.

Wish I could make another trip this year but I can't wait for next year.

fun trip and great way to get outside and do something w/ a group despite covid. very organized and knowledgeable guides - prepped us before the trip and along the river before more difficult rapids. kept us together, but also let us enjoy the river and rafting at our own pace. was very nervous initially that a guide wouldn't be in our raft, but in the end the rapids were totally fine and manageable without an experienced guide in the raft directing and guiding us. we actually felt really good at the end knowing we managed our raft on our own. only somewhat downside is we thought the river would be a bit more challenging, but everything was great. fun and enjoyable experience for our whole group ;))
