Chophouse grill. Most disappointing meal had in a long time. Overpriced grisly steak. Asked for pepper sauce and instead got some American sickly goo that just repeated all night. Overpriced ta fook. Can't believe how far up themselves the West group has become.

Very disappointed meal at Lure Restaurant. Paid. $40.00 for 4inch square piece of barramundi that was charred on one side and tiny bit a salad and waited 1hour for that. Was asked by waiter if I wanted a side dish of vegetables as there was not a lot with the fish which I ordered and got a large cereal bowl of only broccoli costing $8.00 bucks. Even my drought affected cows couldn't eat that much broccoli. No body eats that much broccoli. When you order a plate of veg you expect mixed veggies
Had far better barramundi meals elsewhere for far less money.

Having not been back to the club in a little over a year, I decided to take the family out for dinner. A few changes have occurred, mostly all for the bad. The wonderful self serve Chinese buffet has now been replaced by an over charged menu you need to order and wait for. Upon ordering a plate of fish and chips, we asked for some calamari to go with it, but apparently you have to order another full plate of calamari and chips. Couldn t possibly just add a few calamari on the side for a few extra dollars. Then when it came time to order drinks at the bar, my children who were standing 2m back behind the rope were deemed to be in the area of the bar and so couldn t order drinks...even though we were only after soft drinks.
I don t know whether management of this place has changed in recent times, but it s taken a backwards step from what it once was. This was a place we enjoyed coming to as a family, but not anymore.

Ok

Club is great, most staff are fantastic. New Bejing in the food court is terrible. Food was not even edible, half a chicken on rice uncut... imagine half a coles chicken uncut on rice! Cmon... lol

A great venue with plenty of different dining and drinking options, all at excellent value, especially for members who pay only a few dollars a year which is easily recouped after one or 2 meals. Options cater from quick buffet meals right through to formal sit-down restaurants, and even a chocolate bar. Free parking (and lots of it), attentive staff, and conveniently located central to Newcastle and Lake Macquarie.

Nice choices for dinner. Mexican, steak, Thai and fish restaurants. Good breakfast and great coffee with bircher and porridge downstairs if you want a light breakfast. Good gym. Fantastic staff. Only 3 stars for absolutely awful wireless which is unusable in every room I have stayed in and as I'm there on business is a huge issue for me. It will not stay connected for more than a few minutes at a time. If they could resolve this it would be a 5 stars. Hope they sort this out soon as we're considering dropping the hotel because of this.

Good
