Westin Crown Center Review

The lobby is decorated beautiful and with the Christmas tree in front of the waterfall. It made as a beautiful backdrop for pictures that I took of my daughter last weekend.

I was a bit taken aback by some of the aesthetics, weird missing trim around elevator doors, high-school toilet in the room without enough pressure to properly flush, poor coffee maker in the room that overflowed with each cup...staff was very nice and accommodating, exactly as one would want. I stay at lots of places and the staff made this average place nice. The bottled water in the room was an upcharge after the first bottle, and that was just silly. Not impressive, not bad. Bed was comfy, room was smallish, but ok. Overall, just fine!

It's attached to a sort of mall with some shops and places to eat.

First hotel i stayed in alone and it was amazing.. friendly customer service.. just dont get the coffee they offer from stsrbucks

We got to stay on the top floor. We had 2 young kids with us (boys age, 3 and 7) and they just wanted to hang out in the room and watch tv. It was clean and comfy, and the view was awesome. The elevators we fast, and of course the kids loved riding in them (especially the ones with the windows). The lobby is also great, I would have liked to sit and read the if i could. We live only about 35 minute from the hotel, but this is definitely a place I would want to go for another staycation. The location is just so great as you can walk "The Link" over to Union Station and take the street car to the River Market, City Market, and to the Power & Light. Definitely recommend.

Older hotel that had been remodeled. Heating and cooling in the rooms is weak. Water pressure was terrible. Staff were friendly, but no coffee available in the lobby when we left in the morning.

2 Day Conference. Beautiful setting. Staff is very attentive. Lunch was good and imaginative Mexican. Lots of salad choices.

The staff at the Westin were very friendly anf helpful. I didnt stay but it was a pleasant experience visiting my friends who did.

Great beds and pillows...so comfy! Heating and air worked perfectly and I had a refrigerator in my room. The decor was updated and modern and it was nice and clean. Beautiful, huge wall mounted tv. Great stay, highly recommend.

After browsing the menu a few minutes, we decided to just get a drink and an appetizer, then have dinner somewhere else. The menu is small and pricey for what you get (i.e. $27 for chicken fried chicken). I can say that our quesadilla appetizer was tasty, but overall we just didn't see many menu options that looked good for the price. If you want to drop that kind of cash, go to a nicer place.

I officially love westins now. Great staff gave me on recommendations on what to eat. Loved the fountain. The view was okay but the rooms were so nice. Enjoyed my stay!

Great service from all employees. I enjoyed talking with the concierge and employees working the door. There was also plenty of shopping.

The service at the bar was very prompt. Our waitress was very friendly. The weekend parking is also free!

Staff was excellent. Hotel needs better stair access to rooms. Waiting on elevators took too long. We wanted to take stairs but access is very limited and outdoors. Nice workout facility.

Checked into my room and decided to change and use the work out room. I had my bag on the dresser and leaned over to pull out some work out clothes. I noticed that there was a sausage someone had left in the garbage and housekeeping didn't pick up. I like sausages, I thought I'd take a closer look. I guess it wasn't a sausage. There was a used condom with semen which had leaked out of it, a qtip and a kleenex. If housekeeping doesn't clean this stuff up, I'm willing to bet sheets are not changed or cleaned either. Come to the Westin to get yourself free AIDS!

I contacted my credit card company who said they will reach out to the hotel and have them contact me. No one from the hotel ever contacted me. I'm not surprised.

This is a disgusting place, I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.

Close to the power and light district; even closer to the WW1 monument which is a must visit. Hotel is very clean and the people are nice enough. Having a number of shops and restaurants is a nice addition.

Very nice hotel. It's nice being connected to a small mall which gives some dining options without having to go outside in the winter. They are renovating their restaurant as of Nov 18 though. They only have a portable bar in the lobby. The concierge room breakfast is in a conference room for some reason as well and wasn't very impressive. Pretty similar to the Sheraton nearby so I book with whichever has lower rates that week.

Many shops and activities to choose from. Love the walkway from The Weston to Union Station.

Conveniently located near several attractions, Westin Crown Center has everything you are looking for to have wholesome family friendly fun.

The Westin was a great place to stay at Christmas time. We enjoyed going to the Crown Center shops, using the Link to visit Union Station and seeing all of the Christmas lights. We went to a movie at the Regnier Extreme Screen without needing to go outside. The Westin room was clean and comfortable, the cleaning staff friendly, the pool was warm and not too crowded, the Mezzanine was beautiful. The hotel food was excellent with healthy choices available. The breakfast buffet was good and the wait staff was wonderful. Thank you to the Westin staff for making our stay at Christmas special.

The staff here are great and the lobby is beautiful, but the rooms are old and super noisy. If you paint doors and slap wall paper up it doesn't make it a better room.

Rooms are usually very clean and well kept. Room service can take a while but that is understandable for such a large hotel. The fitness center is awesome, heated pool all through winter and the weight room is very clean. Front desk can be hit or miss but they are very quick to correct any mistakes.

Property fine. Lots of people - business must be good. Service lacking. A charge mistake on my bill was removed at check out. Back office added back 24 hours later. Discouraged.

I attended the Westin for an event. The space was clean and professional. Great ballroom and meeting rooms, beautiful interior with a cool waterfall, and great location within walking distance of several other things to do in Kansas City.

Wonderful experience from the time we arrived, the stay and departure. The staff was super, the atmosphere was delightful and the stay was the best in a long time of staying at other places. I want to go back soon, just because it is so good.

We went here for a holiday party in one of the ballrooms. The food was ok, nothing special. They also seemed pretty understaffed at the bar. A little disappointing overall for a place that fancy.

Dated rooms but clean. The proximity to downtown made it a great place to stay.

Very clean but the room wasn't what I expected at that price point. Wonderful outdoor heated pool! We went for a swim when it was 16 degrees outside and that was a blast.

I've been using the fitness center as you can get a monthly membership. The membership gives access to the weight room, steam room, bikes, tredmils, ect, and pool. A fairly well equipped gym, but it's a little more expensive than a membership to a gym. Having access to the pool sold me for the summer months.

If you normally get government discounts because you are a government employee, note this hotel WILL NOT honor those, even with ID. DO NOT STAY HERE if you are a government employee of any kind. It is a nice hotel with great modernist architecture and nice outdoor pool and huge indoor garden, a destination hotel with amazing views. Because of the rudeness of the management and their not honoring my ID and the trouble it took, I will not stay at westins again.

Went to a conference and many of our evening events were in the Westin. It was clean, the staff was always helpful and kept our room stocked with food and drinks.

Great location, good food, and access to the City. Room was smaller than I expected and they nickle and dime you for everything. Literally everything. Parking, Wifi, etc.

The KC Westin is our home for an annual Christmastime visit to Kansas City. The KC Westin has just undergone a long needed rehab of guest rooms and the results once again put this property in the upper tier of hotels.
Our room was very bright, comfortable, and quiet. Nothing unusual experienced with this visit and that's always good when dealing with hotels

This hotel is beautiful. The staff has been great. Always a smile on everyone's face.

Room and hotel were beautiful, however at check out we were charged more then what was originally quoted. After talking to a manager and showing the confirmation they did finally drop the rate to what it should be but removed the AAA discount we had. When they were advised that we were told over the phone the exact amount with AAA discount, they said they would have to pull the call. Waited three days to hear back, only to be told that yes the call did occur and sorry you were misinformed but we can't honor that. If money/budget isn't an issue go for it, if it is though be prepared to pay more or argue to get your original quote.
