A bit pricey, but everything is managed crisply. A full parking lot still means youll get up and down your moneys worth.

Great ski mountain that's close to home. Lift tickets are a bit pricey for the size (for $20-$25 more you can go ride Gore which is a HUGE mountain compared to West) but with the $20 Monday and Tuesday night specials, it's great to get a few hours in after work. The new owners have done a great job picking this place up with numerous upgrades to the lodges and to the snowmaking and grooming equipment. The trails could be a little better, but being a small family run mountain it's great.
We have been skiing at West Mountain for a number of years and this season has been the best so far!
Just put millions of dollars in the lodge great food. New kitchen looks great you can watch how food is made awesome staff well managed now open year round hiking biking arial coarse. Just so much to do
New lifts, new snowmaking, events. A fun and social mountain.
Always hit or miss late December. The warm days made for a pretty average outing. But, for the number of people on the slopes (especially kids), they should have had more runs open. Check first before you go. What was open "to the public" and what was posted on the website where contradictory. Their lift prices and rentals were also overpriced. Next time we'll probably try a different place. Pretty average operation.
RE: Owners response It was just average not "unpleasant". But, knowing the competition in and around upstate NY, it's always a good idea to exceed customer expectations - even when interacting online. You've provide no incentive for 4 snowboarders (and the untold who will read this review) to return to West Mountain.
Good Race Camp for holidays. Extremely family friendly. Good learners area. Difficult transition to the 'next step up' on the Double Chair, but if you can manage that, the terrain accessed by the high speed chair is easier!
Nice small mountain with open trails and just a good time.
Such a fun family trip! My 4 year old loved riding the ski lift, and seeing all the wild life on the trails. Plenty of trails that she could do too. The rope course looked like fun, but we didnt do it because my daughter is still too young. The picnic package is also a great idea, and the lookouts are beautiful for dining. We'll be back to do it again next season!
So lucky to have this mountain so close. Great night skiing and fun for kids!!
Great local mountain, looking forward to continued renovations and snow making.
Nice ski mountain for kids and families. Excellent ski school staff. Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Upstairs eatery and bar has good food with reasonable prices and great daily specials.
Great little hill with a variety of terrain. I leave Killington to ski here
We had a blast there for the annual bonfire and torch parade
great time mountain biking. Bike rentals are really nice bikes for reasonable price.
Great skiing no lines conditions good considering warm weather nice people great place to ski
We had a GREAT TIME!!! Staff was awesome, tubing was fantastic, we LOVED IT!! Oh, and good luck to all of those young !! They were amazing as well!!
First time trying out the downhill mnt park. It was steep and gnarly. Good fun but definitely not for beginners.
Loved snowboarding with instructor Gina- had the ultimate Adirondack experience in a weekend getaway from the urban rush.
Wonderful place for a birthday party. We had a blast tubbing!
West mountain bar and grill is awesome! We got to listen to great music by Dylan who is the cutest little singer and guitar player. The hostess April sat another couple with us after we had offered as it was so busy. She did a great job because we made great friends with our table mates. Jen did a great job serving our two groups at one table. We enjoyed great food with new friends we made while we ate. So much fun! Great food, great music, great laughs! What more could you want?
Very happy people everywhere. Friendly, kind and helpful staff. The kids have fun and are safe
Had a great time! Came.on the weekend if the bonfire and did some tubing, faster then they look!
Some trails were poorly marked, greens were very difficult, conditions were poor, dissapointed again spending the price here at west mountain. I am always happier spending around the same at gore for much better maintained trails and many greens and blues that are easy for beginners.
Your hometown ski center with the feel of the big mountain ....don't ski or board ...they got it don't like to have fun they even have outdoor seating for the most miserable of guests but if you would like to partake in the fun bring down the whole family and make a day of fun food and sights of the Adirondacks I can guarantee you will not be able to experience any where else in the world ....interested ? You should be but why take my word for it ....call or stop in ....I am willing to bet you won't regret it look for photos coming soon blessed are the ones who can look at everything from another perspective
Good mountain. Perfect for night skiing. It lacks in trails but makes up for it in affordability
Had a great time skiing at West Mountain, conditions were great
We just did the tree experience with our sons 10 & 15 years old. The staff was so helpful and guide you through the tree trails. There are 6 trails. 2 beginner, 2 green, 1 blue and 1 black. Laura guided us for over 2 hours and then jeff helped us on the black. There are zip lines everywhere. Your in the shade so you never feel the heat. The chairlift up and down is nice also.
I didn't see the tubing and the staff on the entire property were terrific. Lodge is getting updated. Bathrooms were remodeled. Cafeteria is being remodeled as of today.
Wonderful place to go tubing, Skiiing and Snowboarding!
Amazing stuff great rental equipment.
Amazing prices.
Had a great skiing experience in west mountain. We took beginner ski lessons , Adam Carusone was our instructor. He was amazing. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone who is interested to learn ski.
Love this place been skiing here ever since I was young
Food = 5 stars ( may be a little pricey but worth it)
Trails = 4 stars (needs more terrain parks (even though they did great job last year with one)
Conditions = 2 (Very icy from snowblowers that are almost constantly going. Random ice patches that show up out of no where.
There are tons of glades especially since they put in the mtb Park over the summer
This is always an enjoyable experience. Usually go up for skiing - This trip went for snow tubing and had a great time.
Good mountain to get a few runs in. It's close to home, has night time skiing and $20 for 4 hours on Monday and Tuesday nights. Trails are easy and lines aren't long. They have a nice lounge with good food and have special nights as well.
Nice little mountain. Not too expensive and great at repairs
Home town mtn, great value. And they always do a good job on the trails.
Great local skiing, tubing and snowboarding. Excellent cold winter sport just near Saratoga Springs N.Y.
This place is fun, not too shiny, never too crowded, and friendly and affordable with Liftopia coupons.
I had the best time.... I was able to ski and I tried snowboarding and it was great. The trails are high and fun, and the tubing parks were something I won't forget. You fly down the hills and it's awrsome. I greatly enjoyed the food because it was very good. Great prices and a great time all together it's to bad I got to go :(
Decent variety of trails. Some places were certainly a bit skied out and icy. Some of the harder stuff and farther to the skiers left runs were less skied out.The magic carpet was steep enough that in sections some skiers would start to slide backwards which is problematic. Prices were average.
We paid $27 a ticket and it took over 30 minutes to get one run in for tubing and staff was RUDE. DON T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.
It's close to the house and the people are great. And. We love it. There stop in check it out
Great value for the price!! good mountain for beginners, fast chair lifts, and the bar /restaurant on the 2nd floor of the main lodge is beautiful with great draft selection. Only 4 stars because the trails marked as black diamonds really are just blue/medium difficultly.
A wonderful family ski spot. It is small but really nice if you want to have a great time avoiding all crazy "fun" guys riding so fast and putting others in danger. Prices are affordable. We had no equipment at all and they gave everything in good shape. Skis are sharpened and well maintained. COVID restrictions are followed up either by the rental equipment team and in the lifts. Different lanes from beginners to expert but few possibility of off-road skiing. Definitely a wonderful family spot. Restaurant is also nice and very affordable.
Fun for the family, if a little underwhelming. Big props to the escalator for tubing - great idea! Seems to be well staffed and secure. No accidents during visit.
Breath taking views. Great trails. Staff friendly and helpful. Picnic basket was worth every penny. Sandwitchs and snacks was so worth the price. Highly recommend for couples. Don't forget to add the small bottles of wine when you get there.
A small mountain, but good for beginners who are ready for bigger slopes. Family run and easy access from interstate. Gets a bit crowded due to ski races on Saturdays, but not too crowded.
I did a contracting job there.place is old needs lots of work.place is dirty.i would eat there.
Like skiing in the 80's... in a good way. Sure the lifts are all old, and there's very limited vertical... but that didn't stop our family from having a fabulous day skiing. I have two small kids learning to ski, and we didn't have to worry about losing them on the mountain. Some times you just want to slow down, escape the rat race, and go someplace small like this.
They have a great area for snow tubing. Multiple lanes and 2 hills. We had a great time. Prices were reasonable.
What a misery... My wife and I were away from our kids for the weekend in the Lake George area. We went to West to go tubing (2/28/15). They're supposed to have 4 long runs and 4 shorter kids runs. All 4 kiddie runs were open, but of the 4 adult runs, 2 were closed, 1 was open for kids only, and 1 was open for adults and groups. It was a busy day, and as a result, my wife and I managed 2 runs in 1 hour. After deciding it was pointless to continue, we went down to the main desk to complain and see if any accommodation could be made. There were already others there to complain. The manager did a lot of head nodding and stuck to the no refund policy. She wasn't empowered to do anything, and called her supervisor down, who proceeded to tell us tubing was popular and it was a busy Saturday. When we pointed out that there was effectively 1 run available for about 100 people, he went on about the safety of the other runs. It was clear they were understaffed, but he insisted that wasn't the problem.
I get a no refund policy, but when you completely fail to deliver on what's promised...They knew 3 of the 4 runs were closed when they happily took our money. The manager wasn't authorized to comp anything, refund anything, do anything. All she could do was take phone numbers from everyone who was complaining, so that she could get authorization from the owner of the place to offer complimentary passes for another day. Apparently, she was unable to reach the owner while everyone was there, but was going to be magically able to do so once we all left. Unfortunately, a comped ticket would be useless to us, since we were in the area for the weekend and were leaving the next morning. So, we were screwed out of around $40, and West loses future ski business from our family of 5, and anyone else we can steer away from them.
Kids working at the ticket counter was slow!. And the trip to the hospital was not fun due to the collision with another tuber due to the inexperience and not paying attention employees on the tubbing hills.
Good little ski spot. Good vibe. Covid precautions are taken. Good value for lift tickets. The Bar service was kind of poor. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars. Full service ski and board shop.
Slopes were groomed beautifully and the sunshine made our couple hours of skiing more enjoyable.
Tubing 'lift' escalator makes the experience awesome. Nice lodge with good menu/drink selection.
Awesome local mountain to anyone in the saratoga region... Offers mountain biking in the winter as well as skiing!
Called earlier in the week to make reservations for kids (ages 5 & 8) snowboard lessons. Was told there wasn't a need to pre-reserve snowboard equipment, but when we got to the rental stations to pick up boots we found out that the smallest More
Aerial ropes course was great...plenty to keep you interested. They have various levels of difficulty. Something for everyone.
The lodge was nice, friendly staff, food decent, enjoyed watching every one have a Blast!
Nice small/intermediate mountain that has seen a renewal over the last several years. Due to it's orientation, it does have tendency to ice up in spots. But, still a fun mountain to ride.
Easy access good for families. Restaurant pretty good
Fantastic day out with the family kids loved it and good value for money
Runs are good but short. Slow lifts but not crowded. Great for kids or a low energy day.
First day just half the liftline open. No North lodge. Should have opened later.
