West Boca Medical Ctr Review

I've had so many bad experiences with this hospital it's beyond ridiculous and I'm not sure why the state hasn't shut them down. Oh wait, it's Flori-duh! I will be lodging complaints with the Health Care Administration Agency in this state next week, along with all other applicable agencies. I have notified their ethics department about my complaints numerous times to no avail. They simply don't care and are all about the almighty $$. I hope others who have complaints will also file with the state. This place needs to be sold to a better health care corp. Tenet is the worst!

be prepared to be charged thousands of dollars for simple procedures... then good luck trying to get a hold of their billing department over the phone: you will listen "how your time is important for them" for 2 hours to no avail. run away from this place. ask your doctor about other options.

Edit 12/19/19: somebody called after my one star review here to apologize and make sure I got the right paperwork I needed for my insurance.

Daughter had a fever , feared the flu in waited 2 hours total and oly 45 minutes in the back , all they did was a flu test, took tempature and gave her a gator aid. charged $2700, had to go there becouse urgent Care was closed. Wonder why our medical insurance is outrageous ?

Had a great experience at west Boca medical center. Delivered my second baby via scheduled c-section. Friendly atmosphere and professional. Many nurses helped throughout our stay. In particular, Nina & Rana were wonderful. I would highly recommend their birth center. I feel my recovery was much quicker due to their care. Thank you everyone!

Will not deliver there again due to nurse staff in birthing center is less than enthused to help, and the hospital works with Kidz Medical Services which are the worse company and will bill you and your insurance thousands of dollars fradulently. NICU nurses are beyond amazing though.

Gave birth to my first baby here and LOVED it! Few highlights for labor and delivery...
Cleanliness- I am a stickler for cleanliness and was very nervous about it being dirty. I was there for four days and never saw as much as a hair from another person. Would give 5/5 here
Staff- BEST NURSING STAFF! Everyone was super attentive and caring. I was bedridden because of epidural and they gladly helped me with everything. All RNs. Be advised... no MDs are staffed in L&D by the hospital. Good thing because your Dr will deliver you but just an FYI
Room arrangement- the L&D rooms are very clean and comfortable. It was just my husband and me... not sure how cozy it would have been for a larger party.

This disgusting excuse for a hospital tried to rip me off.

Doctors are wonderful, nursing staff, support transport, and medical support staff is wonderful! Billing is a pain in the ass. They find every way not to issue you a refund you are entitled to. They steal your money even when insurance pays them 100%! If you don't want a billing nightmare don't go here.

Walked out after waiting 2.5 hours in the ER for a doctor. Check in time 1:20AM, left at 3:50AM after no doctor came. What a joke.

Poor management. Poor communication between staff members, poor quality poor bedside manors in the ER, some of them are just rude.

I do not understand why this hospital is only rated 3 out of 5.

All the staff at the hospital was so nice

It is the one of the best hospitals that we have seen. The doctors are good but the nurses are real angels. My 80+ dad had been admitted twice to their ER and normal ward, they looked after him quite well. He was full of praises for them. One of the nurses went out of her way, although she was not the attending nurse for my father, to help him connect with us during this difficult times. She brought a smile to our faces. God bless them all.

The staff here at WBMC is amazing..... from the er to the or and the peds unit, ct scan and ultrasound, everyone took care of my son as if he was their own. Just to name a few Dr Stone and Dr Ritter, Millie, Wei and Keven in the OR, Dr Rios and Jose Carol and Adriana in the ER, And Jodie, Berlina and Cristina! Exceptional healthcare providers! If I missed anyone, I apologize if i missed anyone.

Great staff of ER pediatric nurses, physicians, phlebotomists, paramedics, and auxiliary staff. Clean and caring environment. Never a long wait. Staff makes the patient and parents very comfortable. Keep up the great work!
4/5 because way too small of an ER pediatric unit, very cramped. As the only pediatric ER in the Boca area, the size of the ER should be a lot bigger. You feel like you are on top of the patient next door. West Boca Medical really needs to expand the size of the ER pediatric unit.

Excellent experience her for the delivery of my daughter. The staff was excellent from beginning to end. We loved our nurses and the care that our daughter received. The room was nice for the three nights my wife and I stayed- for a hospital. I would recommend them for all expectant mothers.

The staff at this hospital are deplorable. Maureen in administration is one of the nastiest people I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. If you try to circumvent speaking to her she will let you know that she is in charge. This speaks volumes about the environment there. They are rude, unprofessional and shouldn't be in business, which by the way is the only thing they seem to care about. BRRH is far superior to this dump. I would beg the paramedics to take me elsewhere. An acquaintance also believes they killed her mother approx. 15 yrs. ago and would never step foot in this g-d forsaken place. Horrible reputation justly deserved. Clean up your act W. Boca! I have spoken with your ethics dept. numerous times to no avail. You must be shut down!

I had my son there and they are amazing!!!! I have gone back to the emergency room and they are beyond words the best!! They are there to do their job not play around they are truly amazing!! Very caring and most of alll I can check in online and when I get to the ER no wait at all!!! The best!! I wouldn't dare go to Coral Springs or north west they suck !!! West boca rocks!

I ended up there not by choice but because I checked into their walk-In clinic up the street. Truly the worst experience of my life. After five days in the hospital the home nurse finally got to change my dressing on the fifth day. She found it inhumane . Average of an hour to two hours and constant paging to even get a cup of water. I watched an elderly screaming and saw one next to me check out in less than a day.

Please do not allow your loved ones check in to this place. Hospital association !!! you need to send in under cover to get to the bottom of this Establishment. Specially now with Corona situation that no family member is allowed to visit the elderly they are getting away with murder.
Personally I am so glad to be out of there and hope that I never end up there again.

I don't understand anything but five stars for this organization. I have been there numerous times, I was hospitalized with a very serious illness and I have called there and I've been treated with respect and everyone has been pleasant and professional. The only thing I can figure out is that when people have a good experience they don't leave reviews only if they have bad experiences. From billing to nursing to Lab and Radiology everyone has been helpful and compassionate!!!

Truly a great staff. Very caring. Will always be on top of my list.

This hospital is a complete rip off.They over bill your insurance company and if the insurance does not pay they demand the money from you and threaten you. I would highly advise anybody on the Boca .Raton to use Boca Community Hospital. I am passing on this information as this happened to me. I would not even give this hospital one star. I am sure this has happened to other patients as I have read the same complaints all over the internet.

You are better off going to a witch doctor. I live near the hospital and went to ER few times for back issues.. last time was almost humorous.. They did not want to do an MRI cause there was no car accident, they could only do Xray which does not show any herniation; the doctor was completely green and had poor English.. They could do absolutely nothing except prescribe pain pills. They double billed me (6k) for a useless ER visit and when I refused to pay it they told me they would take less. All the terrible stories of this hospital are true and this is not the only bad experience I have had with them. STAY AWAY!

And after I paid the bill they cant even provide a statement! It has to be mailed from a corporate office. They are very proficient at torturing patients.

Wish I could figure out how to give them negative stars. PS this is first time I am doing a review on google.

Best hospital by far! From finding out i was pregnant to follow up visits for nausea, this staff is amazing and attentive! I appreciate each and every one of you!

The head nurse on the phone is very rude and hung up on me

Hard to find anything good to say about this hospital. I went to the emergency room and the nurse missed the vein with the IV and my arm started to swell. I was given pain medication then sent home only to return the same day with more pain. I was told by the nurse that they knew I would be back because the pain from the kidney stone would return. So why send me home. I paid $100 by credit card for my first emergency room visit. Now the hospital billing department has to investigate if they received payment because they can't find a record of it. I called the hospital direct and spoke to Arlene who could confirm payment but could not give me a receipt or note of any kind saying I paid. She suggested I call the billing department that can't find it. Why can't she call and tell them they received the payment. Very poor customer service. I want to communicate by email so I have a record but they won't. It is much easier for them if they don't have a record so that there is no proof.

I was admitted and the communication in this hospital is horrible. They couldn't tell me when I would see their assigned doctor or tell me if or when my procedure would take place. I was told the doctor would be in early the next morning to release me but that didn't happen.

Trying to get information from the hospital staff, the in house billing department or the outside billing company is an exercise in futility.
I would not recommend this hospital.
Very disappointing. So now I'm out $100 because my insurance says there is no emergency copay if you are admitted to the hospital within 24 hours. But I'm having trouble getting reimbursed because the outside billing can't find the payment. And I received a bill for another $100 for the emergency room copay. Please step in and help me Arlene from the in-house accounting office.

Customer support staff can be short and impatient when dealing with patients.

I am a patient here at west boca medical ..i was authorized to come here by my physician whose affiliated but doesnt work here..The doctors on the 2nd and 3rd floor do not listen to the patients..the staff is careless and will forget you in a heartbeat if they really have to do their job..i changed rooms from icu where i was placed because i had a life threatening asthma attack eith chest pain and have been lying in my bed waiting for my nurse for hours ( not exaggerating) to address that i am in complete pain with my head and my chest.i came in the emergency room for severe head pain constanstly and not being able to breath with tightness in my chest.they say i have asthama with a virus..once admitted in the hospital the medication for my head was helping for the last two days which was morphine..i am 17 weeks pregnant and aware of the severity of the pain and the effect and the doctor not my doctor has taken me off the medication not concerned that i cannot function or eat because of crucial pain in my head and lungs are and wont consider even giving me a relaxer to be able to sleep..since ive been admitted i have sleep for maybe four hours..now my stomach is very nausea and in pain because im getting medicated on an empty pregnant stomach by this dr ., Dr ali is not concerned at all..i will be leaving this hospital with the same symptoms i came with and into another hospital on my own for the same thing..she also told me i can not change doctors while im here..i advise anyone with insurance or doesn't want to be disrespected and not have your concerned listen to or met to ever come to this hospital..they are very personal when they bring their problems to work to assist helping you or so called helping you to get better..dont waste your time..this is my second time here and it will be my last and i am reporting these issues and concerns with someone who can fix this problem and thats a promise..i give them a negative 5..the dr has not tried to comply and demanded that she would not call my doctor and thats what she meant..she is currently.making me suffer..Dr Ali your in the wrong field and your heart is not in the right place.

I was there for 5 days and still here and there is no progress at all

Was to have outpatient surgery 9/17/2019. The first four staff member I met , shared the same characteristics:
Discourtesy and seeming apathy, far beyond any encountered in a health facility before. I cancelled the procedure.
Management be advised......

Horrible! I went yesterday to the emergency room because my daughter wasn't feeling good she was in pain I arrived and we had to wait outside for 10 to 15 minutes there was nobody at the front checking patients in and it was hot. I waited three hours and a half for no reason no doctor ever came in to take care of my daughter and every time I went to the nurses they kept saying that the doctor was going to come in shortly he never came in and I ended up leaving and going to a different hospital. this is ridiculous I understand that emergency rooms get busy but at the same time my daughter is a patient to and she needs to be taken care of as well as other . Felt unwelcoming. Never again

Birthing center pavillion AC is broken (and has been for months). Should warn soon to be parents. This is South FL and this is a dangerous condition.

The maternity nurses were so mean and rude they were making sarcastically mean jokes towards me after I gave birth to my son I'll never forget how the nurse on call at that time treated me when being discharged from the hospital worse experience ever! Not all but some there were one or two nurses that were kind.

Mediocre at best. My mother had surgery here, surgeon was great, and post-op care in the CCU was EXCELLENT. She was moved one night to the "main floor," and care their was barely acceptable, seemed like it's staffed at the bare minimum, at least based on the response time for her to get pain meds, etc. The attending physician sent her home with a pain rx that when I tried to fill the pharmacist had questions about. Tried to contact that physician 3 times over the course of half a day and never got a response. Moreover, the room on the 3rd floor looked barely cleaned, had a dirty robe still in the room from the last patient. Good news... I'm not from around there, so I would never go there intentionally. Oh, and if anyone tells you the food is "great," they either don't get out much or are insane, worst stuff ever. Even the soda from the soda fountain was completely flat - save yourself some time and get a bottled beverage.

Hospital stay and nurses were absolutely wonderful , however administrators are horrible. They don t return calls. You can t talk to anyone regarding your stay after you leave. I went to rehab and needed info from the hospital caseworker . Never got it!

Staff is very attentive.Never had to wait in the waiting room. Immediate service and is impeccable.. Only hospital in Boca,where the medical staff really cares..and is very competent.

The hospital was extremely negligent in the care of my father. The er doctor was cocky and rude and did not even care to listen to what my father was feeling and only started to care once his blood work showed his kidneys were shutting down. The hospital was unable to correctly diagnose him after a week and discharged him to go home where the next day we took him to another hospital in the area we diagnosed him right away correctly with the SAME tests that West boca did. I would NEVER go back to this hospital it is a death sentence.

It has taken me 8 years to work up the nerve for this review. At the time I was a young mother having my first child and a recent college grad. Suffice to say I didn't have the real world experience,knowledge of laws and informed consent ...or lets face it balls.. 8 years later I want to speak out against the obstretrianal violence and traumatic birth i experienced here. To make a ridiculous long story short and bluntly get to the point I will highlight my 3 hugest issues...firstly I was given an episiotomy against my will as I screamed and refused this (I now know this is medical battery) second, my child despite not being in distress was taken against my wishes and my husband unable to follow for his pediatric evaluation despite all care being requested in room..(I now know this is against our legal rights and they had no grounds to justify taking him from our room period) after 3 hours a very nasty nurse finally returned him after scolding my husband for asking about his whereabouts.. lastly, but most importantly my son, who is vaccine injured as a result, was given heb b and vitamin k despite our refusal and florida legal right to do so. He still suffers nuerological damage as a result. Suffice to say the ptsd and fear of birth has never left me. If your stuck here for some reason be aware you have rights to informed consent and can deny medical treatment legally if you so choose and if anyone gives you an episiotomy against your will scream medical battery and report them. Thankfully I now live in a different state and will forever and always opt for a midwife and birthing center...

PEOPLE BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!!!! WHAT A NIGHTMARE IN THIS PLACE, MY FATHER WAS ADMITTED FOR UTI, AND PROBLEMS SWALLOWING... WHEN I ARRIVED HE WAS IN ICU AND HAD FORCED AIR SHOVED DOWN HIS AIRWAYS WHEN THEY DID NOT NEED TO DO... THEN WE TRIED TO CHECK HIM OUT TO PUT HIM IN HOSPICE AT THE FACILITY HE WAS IN, AND THEY TRIED TO KEEP HIM AND DO MORE TESTS AND REFUSED TO RELEASE HIM UNTILL I GOT MY ATTORNEY ON THE PHONE AND FINALLY WE GOT HIM OUT OF THIS PLACE.... VERY BAD EXPERIENCE..TRIED TOTALK TO A ABUDSMAN NO PHOE CALL BACK...BUT THEY WILL BE HEARING FROM ME SOON

Night shift nurse was clueless. Registration was incredibly rude asking 3 times for my signature while we were delivering the baby! And they took all day to figure it out and it was wrong. In addition rude staff continually annoying about mask when it's already on correctly, they don't understand simple concepts.

Awful experience at this medical center. Support staff ( not nurses) is very rude. No compation for the patients at all. Disturb patient all night very laud, slamming doors all night, wake you up every 1/2 hr just to take the temperature they bring the huge rolling stands that are so laud...just to take temperature....this is so wrong. Feels like a 3rd world in there...be aware. They didnt let me sleep all night and I had surgery scheduled for the next day. Outdated very small TVs in the rooms. Food is probably better in prison ...seems like they want to hurt your gut. Will never ever enter this building...it is plain horrible experience.

I went into the ER from a surgical center where I vomited under anesthesia. I immediately developed Aspiration pneumonia. When I arrived at the ER everyone responded quickly, professionally, and kindly!!
I remained in the hospital for 2 days, where I was cared for constantly, and with very professional skilled staff of professionals! I have returned to good health, and feel blessed that I chose West Boca Hospital in the ambulance!!

My wife on May 30th, 2018 gave birth. The staff were very professional. I seen how they cared and made us more relax. I highly recommend this hospital.My wife wants to give thanks to some of the nurses like stephanie, lynn, ladine for being so caring and loving. she was c-section and the team did a great job were she was able to walk the same day with little medications.If we have to choose a hospital , you guys will be the first one again. It takes a team to do a great job and thats what you guys are.

Great caring for kids horrible with adults. But, conveniently close to my house and amazing with my children. On a side note:

Granted I didn't pay this....charged $1,623.39.....it was through insurance but still.....at this visit, I NEVER left the waiting room. Not once. The nurse or P.A. came out, asked me why I was there (car accident), what hurt (answered him), and then got a response of " ok...don't think you need any images at this time and you may have a little whiplash and soreness. Let me go talk to the doctor and see what he wants to do". Left me in waiting room, came back out, "we are really busy. Here's your discharge papers, some prescriptions (which I NEVER EVEN GOT), and follow up with you doctor tomorrow". AND THIS AMERICA, IS THE BILL FOR NEVER SEEING A DOCTOR, BEING SEEN OR TREATED YET IT BEING WRITTEN DOWN THAT I WAS, AND NEVER LEAVING THE LOBBY.

Horrible experience. Would leave 0 stars if possible. Especially when their so called doctors are screaming at patients in ICU telling them they're going to die. Completely unprofessional and wrong.

Service is not emergency service, they have the copay of a hospital but service of a cheap clinic. The have signs every where about their fast service but last night it took about 6 hours for test results, every time I asked when they said it was busy, and the nurses just ignored us. If you have an emergency go to a real hspital.

Although I had previously provided secondary insurance information to your billing company, Paragon Contracting Services, for questionable bills, Paragon knowingly and intentionally failed to submit your claims to my carrier, instead choosing to collect more money from me rather than accept their lower contracted rates from insurance, and sent me past due notices to pressure me about my credit reports. These practices by Paragon represent West Boca Raton Medical Center as operating with an unethical and deceptive character!

Please avoid this hospital at all costs. Worst experience of my life and I have unfortunately been to several hospitals. I came here on a Wednesday evening with abdominal pains. My emergency room experience was fine, but once i was diagnosed with appendicitis and moved up to floor 3- my next 4 days here were a nightmare. The ER doctor told me I would be having surgery that night or first thing in the morning... i waited until after 5pm the following day for surgery and when questioning why there was no surgeon, staff was extremely rude and told me that I basically wasn't important. Almost every nurse i dealt with was extremely rude and unprofessional. They seem miserable at their job and extremely unhappy which rubs off on you quickly(it s really not even their fault- they work for a horrible hospital who clearly treats them terribly). I was in excruciating pain after my surgery and the nurses take hours to bring medicine after requesting it. They treated me like I was abusing pain meds or drug seeking a day after surgery. It took me 3 days of asking to get any hygiene products. I would ask and then they would never bring me anything. I had blood on my blankets and would request new ones and never get them. I m not a complainer at all, and I had 2 visitors during my stay who both told me I need to get out of there ASAP. The doctors would tell me one thing and then not communicate it to the nurses so nurses would literally act like I was lying to them. Just an overall nightmare and the staff here is anything but friendly or accomadating. This place felt like the twilight zone to me.

Edit: They claim to want to hear more about my experience to better their atmosphere and service but will not speak to me so the response to this review is dishonest. Im not surprised at all as this was my experience with almost every staff member during my stay.

I notice that, generally, people write reviews when they are unhappy. This review is to offer praise. I have had 3 major orthopedic surgeries at this hospital over a period of 9 months, the last being April 18, 2018. The care received on every occasion was excellent. This hospital is clean, modern and well-equipped. The intake staff is friendly; the pre-op testing department staff are kind and knowledgeable; the patient care technicians, who work so hard, are kind and helpful; the caseworker, Jan, is effective and caring; and the nurses are absolutely great. I have been hospitalized many times, and feel the best nursing staff in the Fort Lauderdale/Boca Raton area are at Imperial Point Medical Center and West Boca Medical Center. Extremely kind, experienced, and TRUE care-givers. West Boca Medical Center is where I would refer my family members without hesitation.

The nurses here work very hard but the rest of the staff is terrible. My husband asked for a Tylenol for pain in his knee. The dr said no you can get that when you get home even though he wasn t released until 5 hours later. They released him and within two hours he had to be taken to another hospital where he has been for 10 days and they are still treating him. That will be our last trip to West Boca!

People! Please go to Bethesda Hospital! Even if you live in Boca Raton and its xxx mile from you. Don t spend money here they are crazy in all parameters. I don t know why I skept Bethesda and came here but was too late. Coming here 2 nd time in the last 3-4 years - always low service, worst attirude from staff, noone cares about novody

Place really sucks they set up a time for us to come because my wife is going into labor and they have us waiting in the waiting room for 2 hours right now and they don't know when we are going to go into a room. I'll never and I mean never come back to this hospital this hospital is a joke. All they are worried about is making there money not helping people

I have never put one star on any business, but I am so disappointed with West Boca Medical Center that I decided to write a review. I was hospitalized in December 2018 and I am still receiving invoices from their doctors. It has been a nightmare for me, went so many times at their location to meet with the billing department. I had Aetna as my insurance provider and this hospital was in the Network. I asked them when I was in the emergency room about coverage, and they told me that my insurance is part of their network. They overcharge my insurance with so many unnecessary test that Aetna did not cover all of them. West Boca Medical Center is private and they hire Doctors from outside and same with the labs. I end up having bills from everywhere!!!!

if you have a minor child that needs to have a baby do not bring them to West Boca because only one parent is allowed in for a C-section and you would not see your child for two hours and then when you registering your child only one parent can go back there they need to change these laws. Both parents should be able to be with there child if I would have known we would have never came to West Boca to be sitting in a waiting area while my child is in the back. We will never come here every again.

My daughter was born two weeks ago in West Boca Medical Center, the experience was more than fantastic, I couldn't imagine in a clinic I will find so much love from all the staff. She was 5 days in NICU and all the nurses were so lovely with her. The way to look to help us and make the experience unbelievable outstanding.

I delivered my baby girl in this hospital and I am beyond happy with my experience! They went above and beyond for me and my family buring the entire stay! The nurses are so wonderful, helpful and knowledgeable! Thank you so much for everything you did for us!!

After 3 days of chest discomfort I had a friend take me to West Boca ER. I was immediately placed in a room and hooked up to monitors. Lab tests,xray and extreme attention was provided. I was notified I was staying for observation and monitoring. I was treated in telemetry unit with extreme care. I have not been hospitalized often, however this was the very best treatment ever! Kudos to the entire staff for making a frightening experience tolerable.

Essentially saved my wife's life and found the most efficient and conservative treatment plan for her condition. Some gem nurses work here with real compassion for guests. Great healing environment. Doctor Sader the surgeon was brilliant and reassuring throughout our whole ideal. Hospital itself is clean and peaceful.

If zero starts was an option I would put it. My sister had her son at 25 weeks gestation in Port St. Lucie. She was given the option of him coming to Boca Raton NICU or Miami. I so wish she would have chosen Miami but at the moment she thought being closer (still an hour and a half away) was a better option. Upon getting out of the hospital and speaking to a social worker for the NICU she was told she basically needed to get a hotel on her own dime and good luck. What a nasty nasty way to treat a mother that has a baby in the NICU. The Ronald McDonald house closed down 4 months before this so there are zero resources. You all pride yourself on having a level 3 NICU but you give the families nothing. You have made a mother of a very sick baby feel as though she has no advocates. Why is there even a social worker for the NICU? To sit there and collect a check? Maybe if the person wants that they should go somewhere else because you are dealing with people under major stress. I am extremely disappointed in this hospital and you all should be ashamed of yourselves for letting that happen.

West boca Medical center is very lucky to have a wonderful nurse Nicole in Peds! My grandson spent some time there and she was a breath of fresh air.

The night shift staff here are the most disgustingly rude hospital employees I ve ever met. They ll either give you attitude right off the bat, or they ll be nice to your face and turn around and spit lies to their supervisor. The amount of pain I m in is close to unbearable and I can t even have my own family sit in bed next to me to make sure I m okay.
Late with medications consistently. I absolutely abhor this hospital.

And now I get to add the fact that the doctors here LIED to my urologist and told him I was fine. While they re telling me he discharged me when it actuality they just don t want me taking up a bed.

They removed my boyfriend for holding my hand and sitting with me, refused to give me a cot so I would at least have someone here with me. And now are refusing to give me a private room.

The nurses Courtney, Shenika, and Nicole need to have a meeting on bedside manner when dealing with someone in this amount of pain. Immediately.

I will now continue to ask for a private room because after actually speaking with my doctor, I m supposed to be in here through the weekend. I do truly hope this situation is rectified.

It's been a great hospital and great nurses. They took great care of me.
Definitely better than JFK, palms west and all the other garbage in palm beach county.

My wife had to come in twice within a 48 hour window because our doctor did not run a CAT scan the night he should have. Instead he spent 45 minutes with a drug addict while my wife only got 5 minutes of rushed explanations. Steer clear of this mess!!!!

Estimates for planned procedures are intentionally underestimated in a deliberate attempt to deceive patients and attract more business. This facility will lie, cheat and do anything possible to get your money. If they give you an estimate, it is NOT accurate, not even remotely.

After months of back and forth with WBMC and their parent company Tenent Healthcare, they refuse to tell me how they calculate their estimates for procedures (maybe they spin a wheel with numbers on it, who knows). This is a closely kept secret by the company that they do not want you or the authorities to know about. What do you think this says about their practices?

If at all possible please take your business elsewhere and be sure to contact your insurance company first for a reliable estimate and not fall prey to the lies of WBMC and Tenent Healthcare.

Nursing staff in the ICU is professional, kind, and knowledgeable. They were wonderful with my elderly dad. Thank you

ZERO stars if I could. Nurses are very nice but overworked. Doctors are incompetent and ill informed. They just don't care. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. It will save your life.

Great hospital food, state of the art er. The rooms are old it could use a update to look newer and modern

I have been here twice to visit family and on both occasions, my loved ones ALMOST DIED because of lack of care. The nurses have "give no fuks " attitudes. How is this place even open?

My son was born at West Boca Medical Center on August 12. I will be up front in that I am an employee there, but I was not taking any chances. I toured every hospital from Boca to West Palm Beach to ensure I chose the best one (I am that crazy that I did this 3 months pregnant before COVID)!

I can not possibly express the gratitude I have for the entire staff at this hospital. I had been repeatedly told that my birth was extremely low risk everything was going smoothly. When it turned out Dylan (my son) was getting a little big, I agreed to be induced one week early. Perhaps I shouldn t eat so many McFlurries. Now, going through this process during a pandemic is no picnic you can t have visitors (aside from the one person staying with you, which isn t exactly how I imagined things going. This is the same at all hospitals I believe.) However the staff really goes the extra mile to make sure you re comfortable (most didn t know I worked there). Anyways long story short, I ended up with an emergent situation....shoulder distocia, where Dylan got stuck after his head came out. This is where the nurses really came to play. I always imagined all that mattered was the doctors. Nope! A swarm of nurses rushed into the room and did all sort of maneuvers to get him out. Within minutes he was freed from me! However it was traumatic so he had to go to the NICU.

The NICU team is amazing. I wish I could take Angela home with me to teach me how to be a mom. They are patient, kind, listen and let you cry if you just need to let it out. Plus they could keep Dylan from screaming like crazy since he hates dirty diapers!

Moral of the story as someone who was low risk and ended up with a baby in the NICU I really am glad I chose a hospital with the highest level (level III). It just doesn t hurt to have that piece of mind and security. A few other items to note: the birthcare pavilion is separate from the hospital (it s connected but no one staying in the main hospital can come there). This is especially important during Covid. I liked the boutique feel of the center and that is was calm and quiet (not crazy like the labor and delivery they show on tv in big hospitals)! Also you have your own bathroom...it s needed. And the NICU is in the same area as post partum rooms. I had peace of mind knowing Dylan was across the hall from me.

SO, I whole heartedly recommend WBMC for labor and delivery.

P.S. they have the most amazing OB navigator, Deb Putnam. Call and ask to speak to her and she will answer all your questions and even give you a virtual tour.

And in terms of anyone looking for employment, everyone I did work with at the hospital repeatedly checked in on me and continues to. My family lives up north and it was crazy to feel that these people I work with we re becoming my family in FL!

I gave birth to my son at this hospital and I had a great experience. Expect for my midwife but that's I different story. I will be using this hospital again come January 2019.

I checked into the ER on an emergency basis of having severe chest pain and shortness of breath. I believed i was having a heart attack..the staff was very rude and treated me as if i was a drug addict on a drug induced high. I couldnt talk because of the cheat pain i was experiencing and i was very disoriented. I would never recommend anyone to receive treatment at this hospital nor will i ever go back there. I felt as if i was in a prison hospital ward. The staff left me exposed with the privacy curtain open, everyone that walked by could see my breast. It was very embarrassing for people to see me in pain with my breast exposed.the staff acted like they did not care that i was experiencing severe chest pain and could not talk. They treated me horrible. This hospital needs to be investigated.

I had surgery at West Boca Medical Center on 3/13/20. The doctors and nurses were amazing. I received excellent care. Mona and Laudisi (sp?) were friendly and funny prepping me for surgery. The anesthesiologist Maria put me at ease and did a wonderful job. Liam assured me he would monitor me during surgery. Dr. Saville is exceptional. I cannot say enough about him. He is a fabulous doctor. He promised he would take care of me and he did. After surgery, the nurses were friendly, efficient and professional. Ivette was friendly and helpful. Lulu was calm, professional and promptly responded to every need. Robin's smile and demeanor made me feel like she was an old friend. (She was also the best at drawing blood - didn't feel a thing.) Yaima was friendly and responsive. Andrea was nice and helpful. The consulting doctors, Dr. Marques and Dr. McLean (#warrior) were compassionate and caring. Dr. McLean's smile and manner were wonderful. He is clearly doing what he should be doing. Physical therapist Freddy kept me laughing while going for a walk around the floor. The food was good and they had a lot of options. The food service young lady was friendly and efficient. The staff took amazing care of me and it is clear that these people enjoy what they do and work together as a team to care for people. Thank you so much for all of your efforts. You guys are the best! The only thing wrong with West Boca Medical Center are the grumpy patients. ;) Thank you for your exceptional care of me. Stay safe.

Wonderful experience for.the birth of our son. Everyone provided us with outstanding service. Our delivery nurse Shauna was amazing as was everyone else during labor,delivery and recovery. I highly recommend west Boca maternity!

My son was unfortunately admitted to PICU a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately, we had the DISPLEASURE to meet Dr. Vardeg. If I could give this facility 0 stars because of that narcissist, I would. He is dangerous, stay away!! I will make sure the entire community knows to stay away from this PICU. He is arrogant and disrespectful. He humiliated staff in front of us, how can any facility tolerate this behavior?
I will drive 100 miles to another facility before I ever considering west boca for PICU ever again!

The billing department from the hospital is awful. Trying for over a year to reconsile and have a resolution
is regards a bill for only 45 minutes service, that cost over $10k. Spoke with Ashley and she is rude and super unprofesional. She works as the supervisor from the customer service under the billing department company for this hospital. Her management skills are horrible.

Worst experience ever doctors don t want to do their job nurses especially the day shift act like it s too much to do their job I don t understand how you come into the medical field to help people and not want to do your job I literally just had a nurse tell me if I want to leave just leave

I was charged $3451 for a rabies shot at the ER. Please see my attached picture. The shot took all of 10 minutes. I was forced to the ER after being bitten by a bat. It happened on a Sunday so i was unable to go to the health clinic, as they were closed. The health clinic charges $400 per series. How is it acceptable for a hospital to charge 8.5x the amount of a health clinic offering the same shot? This is CRIMINAL. I went to the hospital to speak with someone and at first was turned away. I begged and was brought to Arlene. She informed me there is nothing they could do and that we could set up a payment plan. Then i spoke to someone else and Arlene cane back and said actually we can close the bill out of you pay $3000 even right now. I was confused as they said there was no way for them to change the amount and now they are saying I can pay now and only now and get $451 off the bill. I felt like i was being shook down. The unfortunate thing is that I am willing to pay just not that crazy amount. A fair amount. I hope this review makes it up he ladder and that someone will contact me willing to work with me on a fair price.

Some of the nurses are very nice and they take good care of your child.

It was AWFUL!!! They where nasty on the phone and one of the nurses gave a baby a fake diagnosis because the mom did not believe the child had what they said it had and they said that right in front of me! And the nurse even put the needle to deep into my vein and damaged a nerve! I had an awful experience and I don t recommend it to anyone the only good person was the doctor but the rest of the staff are the WORST! If I could rate this a 0 I would!

Nursing staff was excellent. Doctors were not good. Dr. Golawala was my intending physician and I never met her in the 48 hours I was there. I finally decided to leave after I found out that no calls were made to read the results of ECHO and MRI. An EEG wasnt called upon until after they told me they didnt know when it would arrive. I took off my heart monitor for an entire hour before I finally realized that they wouldnt notice and I told them about it. All in all, I had a feint and they found it necessary to keep me for three days to scam some insurance company who in turn scams the people paying for it.

Doctors did not know what I had, doctors did not do anything to help.

To start, 90% of the staff are some of the last people you'd want taking care of you. They all take their time doing what they need to do without regard for your comfortibility or happiness. They act like you can just sleep and stay here for days -- as f you don't even have a life yourself. Dr. Golawala is also THE TOP WORST doctor I've ever received care from. That is due to the fact that she really doesn't care. She doesn't check on you, she skipped people during her rounds without returning the ones she skipped, and she literally sat on her cell phone for a little over an hour in front of the computer as we awaited discharge. I will NEVER be coming here mainly because of her. If you can't be a good doctor, you should probably just quit because you made me absolutely miserable for the duration of my time here. DO YOUR JOB, "DR" GOLAWALA!

Nurse Sheryl who did my IV in the OR was an angel. I told her my phobia and anxiety of IV and there could not have been a better person to calm me down and make it painless and gentle. Sheryl, you are the best.
