Paid a visit to Wessex Garages, Pennywell Road, Bristol to have a couple of things checked. Usual polite and friendly greeting and coffee appreciated. The two issues I needed them to check were dealt with efficiently and timely. Buying a car is a personal decision, but I like Nissan and the people in Pennywell Road always look after me.

Great customer service by Mr Henderson, great deal sorted out for me to fit my budget and preferences. They were able to organise everything in advance for me to be ready for when I returned home from a 3 month trip.

I had a very poor experience at Wessex Mazda Bristol. I booked a test drive for a CX3 on 30 June with Dominic Henderson. When I arrived he told me that they were short staffed and he only had 30 minutes as he had to do a hand over to someone else. These things happen, but I could have been contacted in advance to arrange another time. As a result, I only had a rushed, meaningless, 5 minutes drive.

On Saturday 1 June I telephoned to arrange another drive on the following Monday. I was told that Dominic Henderson would not be in on that day, so I arranged the drive for the Tuesday. I sent Dominic Henderson an email confirming the appointment. When I arrived on the Tuesday, I was told that he wasn't there as he'd gone to the dentist and nobody knew anything about my test drive. The car wasn't ready, but Clayton Collier took me for a proper drive. As a result I arranged to buy a car. He said he was going on holiday so would hand everything over to Dominic Henderson.

A couple of days later I telephoned with a couple of queries, and Dominic Henderson didn't know anything about the proposed sale. He said he didn't know I had arranged a drive on the previous Tuesday and nothing had been progressed. At this point I gave up and said I wanted to cancel my proposed order, and as nothing had happened there would me no cost to myself or Wessex Mazda. The one good point of the whole process was that he agreed and asked me to confirm this in writing. (I immediately sent an email and rang him to confirm that her had received it)

I didn't buy a car as everything was so slapdash. I was concerned that if it was this bad during that buying process (when people usually make the most effort) how bad would it be when I actually had a car and might need ti support.

Can't recommend these guys highly enough. Nice and easy to do business with, giving open and honest advice throughout the sales process. They helped me work out a deal that enabled me to come out of another manufacturers PCP and buy a brand new Kia Rio (which I am over the moon with) whilst matchign my budget. From initial contact and through post sale, they have done all the "heavy lifting" to make my life easy, the experience an enjoyable one and most of all get me a superb car!

James Winward pitched it perfectly with us when we came to buy a used CX-5 - helpful and informative, but never pushy. The process was as easy and pleasurable as buying an approved used car can & should be. And we are very happy with the car. Thanks to all at Wessex Mazda. We would definitely recommend them if you are in the market for an approved used Mazda vehicle.

Clayton sold me my 6 and I could not be happier. I could wax lyrical about the car, how it shames BMW, Audi and the likes - comfort, safety, elegance etc. etc. But principally I m writing to people who may already know the best kept secret and want the car but don t know where to buy from. I live in Dundee, Scotland. Not exactly down the road. Spotted the car with low mileage and spec I wanted and from then in Clayton was amazing. Instant answers to every email question (even when he shouldn t have been working!). Clear, helpful, relevant. Gave me a brilliant/fair price for trade in on my fiesta and then arranged to drive the car up to Dundee and take the fiesta; all earlier than expected and exactly as promised. I ll be back for my next Mazda I m sure! Now that 30 year anniversary mx-5 does look rather gorgeous... Thanks Clayton. 110% recommended and thanks for going the extra mile!! Actually extra 500 miles!

I have had the misfortune to use this garage three times. Took my Nissan Leaf in for a service under a service plan &, as they couldn t locate the plan on their system I had to pay (currently awaiting a refund).
More recently my vehicle went in for a warranty repair. When the vehicle was returned, the manufacturer fitted subwoofer & a charging cable bag had been taken from the boot. No sign of theft damage to the vehicle. As the vehicle had been sent to a third party garage for repair I called Pennywell and asked them to contact the other garage to check if the missing items were there. Four days later I hadn t received a call back so I called the third party company myself who confirmed they hadn t received and calls from Pennywell regarding my vehicle. They do not have CCTV in the customer car park. Although they are replacing the sub it has taken weeks (Which is preventing me from selling the car).
All in all, I wouldn t trust this garage to take care of my vehicle again and this experience has ended up costing me time and money to resolve.

Good service especially from friendly Sales Executive Clayton Collier who handled my purchase of a used X-Trail very well. Only slight problem being that the vehicle I had travelled to see wasn't on site when I arrived as I'd been assured it was before setting off. Fortuitously, a very similar alternative was sourced and collected from Cribbs Causeway whilst I waited and that was the car that I actually purchased, so we got there in the end! Unknown to myself (until website checked on the evening) the car had been discounted at Cribbs to below what I was quoted on the day, however when this was pointed out the difference was refunded without fuss and paperwork amended accordingly. Overall satisfied with the experience and very pleased with the car.

I went out on a limb a bit with Wessex as I had never used them before and bought a car on spec as I am 200 miles away. All I can say is I need not have worried. The sales advisor Dominic was true to his word and the car was exactly as described and just what I wanted. I spent the next 4 hours a happy man driving her home with the radio on! I would definitely buy from wessex again as they have restored my faith in car dealers.
In the words of Yoda......happy I Am!

Appalling customer service, avoid this garage!

Appalling customer service, avoid this garage!

I bought a car from his garage about a month ago and when buying the car they offered to deliver the car to me as the car had recently come into the garage an still needed to be valeted and have a vehicle health check.

A date for car was agreed and I was told that the car would be delivered between 10.30 & 12pm and that someone would call prior to leaving their office which is based over an hour away. I hadn't received a call by 11am so gave them quick call to ensure someone was on the way to deliver the car and I was told the person that was due to deliver it was off sick so it wouldn't be delivered! Nobody had bothered to call to inform me of this. I asked if someone else was able to deliver the car as my partner had taken the day off work especially which the garage then arranged for 2.30pm that day.

When they delivered the car I checked over it and the car hadn't been cleaned since we had been to see it at the garage and they did not have a copy of the vehicle health check which I had requested from them when I put my deposit down on thhe car. Instead the car had cigarette ash all over the back seats and the interior was filthy. Not what you would expect when you were sold the car and promised it would be valeted and would look as good as new. I understand that a used car is never going to look new but they hadn't even bothered to clean the car before delivering it and I had to clean it myself removing the cigarette ash.

I called the day after receiving the car to complain about the service I had received raising a number of points and was told that they would all be looked into and I would be called back. Again I am still waiting for a call back.

On the 5th September I called and spoke to the Manager Bob to find out where the cheque they had promised was & I was told that its with the accounts department ready to be posted. I called back again on the 15th September as I still had not received the cheque and this time I spoke to Ian in the accounts department who told me they hadn't received a request to send me a cheque! Ian said he would speak to the manager of the Bristol office to try any resolve this for me. He called back and confirmed that he would send a same day payment for the amount promised to me. 2 days on I have still not received this payment.

One last point was when the car was delivered the gentlemen didn't show me around the car like I would expect and when I raised this when I complained to the office I was told it was because they were short staffed and had DONE ME A FAVOUR by coming out when short staffed!!!

Book a test drive a little while ago, the guy I spoke to had a day off on the day I wanted to test drive. It appears he did not pass on the details well enough as when I arrived the car was no where to be seen - no one knew where it was either and none of the salesmen appeared to know who should be looking after me.
While one of the kind salesman went to find the car, I received a cold reception from the others.
Eventually the car and a different 'new' salesman appeared half an hour after I had been waiting.

Just purchased a demonstrator CX3 from the lovely guys at Wessex Bristol. Couldn't be happier with their selling technique. Glynn our salesman didn't pressurise us and was very honest and really clear at explaining the features of the car to someone who hasn't owned a Mazda before. Adam took us on a really good test drive, Gareth in services was also helpful and Sam was the perfect business manager. Finally we'd like to thank the cheerful driver who picked us up from the railway station. We were prepared to travel for 2 hours to Bristol as Mazda Wessex were able to offer the best deal. A friendly and stress free experience!

Really dissapointed. Took ages when we were there, we were left waiting to get passed between people. Car wasn't cleaned though they have offered to clean it since if I take it to them. Been waiting over 6 weeks for my log book and just got brushed off by a sales advisor who said phone back in a couple more weeks... really not impressed was tempted to rate lower.

First I have to say apparently being forced to use...

First I have to say apparently being forced to use a Google account to provide feedback seems unnecessarily restrictive and seems typical of this company I am not sure they really "get it". I am using my wife's account.
That aside I would alert everyone to very poor communication and delivery on straightforward promises. My experience of buying a second hand (15 plate, 3000 mile) Qashqai has not been good.
I was promised the car within 10 days and was assured this was easily achievable. Despite leaving a number of messages to ask the salesman to contact me to confirm delivery I was told that these were not passed on, either they were not, bad, or the salesman lied, worse. Eventually I was told with one day's notice that I couldn't have the car when expected despite being told originally there was plenty of time. Apparently the salesman was going on a training course that he didn't know about. True customer service would have ensured I had the car when promised whether the salesman was there or not.
The actual sale process seemed cumbersome being passed to different people to complete different processes, rather like the salesmen in Are You Being Served for those old enough to remember the program.
Unfortunately the tale continues as when I got the car home I spotted a problem with bent trim in the boot. The garage immediately arranged for someone to come and pick it up and repair it. At this point I was quite pleased and thought they might redeem themselves. Unfortunately the repair was simply to put a screw through the trim into the side of the car, there was no contact with me as to whether I thought this was acceptable or why they thought it might be. A call to Nissan Customer Service resulted in me having to take the car in to Wessex for them to take pictures to show Nissan. I had a pleasant chat with Rachael in Service who agreed with me that the repair would irritate her and she explained that she would contact Nissan with the details and ring me on Monday or Tuesday, all seemed fine and once again I was thinking they might redeem themselves but guess what I am still waiting and resisting chasing them up yet again. I have decided to give them 1 week but what confidence can I have going forward? I still like the car though and perhaps this is part of the problem, they are finding it too easy to sell Nissans!
One other thing the chap who delivered my car back set off and immediately started using his phone, I stopped him and asked him to make his call while stationary, which he did, but if anyone from Wessex reads this please ask you staff not to drive and use the phone especially at the very start of the journey nothing you do can be urgent enough to justify this.

Very unhappy with the service unfortunately. Took my car in for a service, told it would take 2 hours and that they would call. However after 3 and a half hours I contacted them. This took 2 attempts and a very long wait to speak to someone. Told my car would be ready to collect in the next 20 minutes, so went down 30 minutes after the initial call. Had to wait 25 minutes to be seen, and a customer that arrived after me was even seen before me, despite myself and another customer clearly waiting in the waiting area. At no point were we asked who was next. I was then informed that it was actually not ready to collect and I needed to wait further. So after 4 and a half hours after initial drop off it was ready, but the gentleman at the desk was unsure where it was parked, so had to come out to find it with me. While I appreciate not being served in order of arrival may have been an oversite and not their fault, the waiting times (on the phone, to be served, and to collect my car) were very poor. The gentleman who served me was, however, was very polite, and seem to be doing his best. I am unsure if the issues outlined were a problem because it was a Saturday, and they seemed to be short of staff.

Visited this dealership at about 3pm today. We were very clearly the only customers there, and spent about a total of 20 minutes there both walking the forecourt and inside the actual showroom looking at MX-5s. Not a single member of staff approached us despite us being the only customers in the Mazda side, and all the staff sat at desks in the showroom. Their commission loss on a New MX-5 at the end of the day, we shall be shopping elsewhere! Can't rate any higher if the staff don't want the business.

Absolutely AWFUL customer service! This company has no ethics whatsoever and no sense of customer care at all. We viewed a car and booked a test drive an hour later. During the time that the car was being moved so we could take it for a test drive, the garage sold the car to someone else! If I could give this garage zero stars I would! We are absolutely disgusted with the behaviour of this company!

You have to chase them relentlessly, they never update you. The General Manager for the dealership never calls back regardless how many times you ask.

After the point of sale they dump you high and dry. My worst experience with a dealer in 25 years of motoring and car purchases. These people behave like a cowboy outfit and the real concern is that it's not isolated to some staff but it appears endemic within the dealership. The general manager needs training in customer service expectations as he sets an appalling example to his staff.

Avoid Nissan Wessex Dealer at all costs because after the smiles and purchase your on your own if my experience is anything to go by.
